Hi all,

anyone had any tummy pains at the top and sulphur burps? No symptoms until now, but really suffered today with pain.

x

Yep me. I feel like I’ve had it all 😂😭. I had a couple of days of really bad pain/ bloating just from soo much gas. And mega sulphur burps.

Sorry that you are in pain 😨.

That’s reassuring that someone else has had it. Read too many side effects and worried myself. Seems to have subsided a little. I did have a small bit of coke yesterday and assuming that’s done it. Won’t make that mistake again. :-(

Hi I'm new here started mounjaro early November so I've had my 3rd injection on Friday I'm 10lbs down happy days just looking to find people at same staring time?

MrsMcvities · 25/11/2024 20:09

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 25/11/2024 17:34

W2 D5
I had noticeable appetite suppression in week 1 but in week 2 it's much less, to the extent that I've started to wonder if I did the second injection right.

With little appetite suppression at the moment, I've been using this opportunity to try to learn to listen to the signals my stomach is sending about hunger / satiety, and realising that I've not really been doing that pre-Mounjaro (possibly because I never stopped eating for long enough to actually experience proper hunger).

Definitely noticing actual hunger before meals this week, wanting larger portions, and there have also been a couple of times when I've craved high-sugar, high-fat foods (but had a protein shake or banana instead).

Uhhh same here!! I’m week 2 day 2 and I am hungry, thinning about food, 0 side effects not feeling even remotely nauseous etc I said to my husband a few times like hmmmmm are you sure you watched me actually do it properly this week.. as I sit eating a fucking donut I got for the kids but they didn’t deserve it 😅🤦🏼‍♀️

Yeh I was worried too because I know that can be a red flag symptom but mine was just due to being so gassy 😳🥴

I decided to go to my local pharmacy to buy some insulin syringes in case I break my pen when trying for the golden dose. They were a bit bemused by my request and told me they don't sell them. I did explain what it was for. Are there any online sellers who sell a small amount of the syringes? I don't want to end up with a box of 100 😂

I'm not currently based in the UK, i just went to my local pharmacy with my pen box and asked for the right ones.....I do now have 100 😂but they only cost me 8 Euros.

SellWell · 25/11/2024 20:40

I did my first injection on Friday. Have completely overhauled our meals and have been using a calorie counting app. Hubster is 100% on board with all the new "healthy food"

Yesterday we went to our local village market and we walked around at a leisurely pace for about 2 hours 15 mins.

We both had a cheeky weigh in this morning. Hubster has lost 5lb, I have gained 3lbs 😓..............i wont cry until Friday and the second dose.

I haven't had any noticeable adverse reactions, the food noise has gone !! I do suffer with insomnia anyway so I wouldn't notice that one.!!

I wont be quitting (yet) MJ is way more expensive here in Spain than the UK so you guys have me till at least week 4 !! 😂😂😂

I have already researched where to get them online in the UK with the MJ comparison link that was posted, Thank You so much for that.

ShaunaSadeki · 25/11/2024 20:48

I feel a bit despondent as had my first gain back today, which is ridiculous as even when dieting hard I have never lost weight every day for 3 weeks. I ate a lot of salty food in the last week, drank booze and I am premenstrual so I know it’s that and not a fat gain, but still felt sad that my graph was messed up so didn’t plot it…so silly!

I took my jab a day early again as need to get to injecting Sunday this coming weekend and Saturday the week after due to flights.

it will be bonus dose week next week, I have had zero side affects so far and suppression is definitely on the wain, but a bit wibbly about taking the probably larger freebie the day before a long haul flight, so not sure whether to just draw out 2.5 or go for it as if I was I at home I would sticking every last drop into my leg.

Seaside3 · 25/11/2024 21:09

Hi all! Can anyone link me to info about the extra dose? I took my 4th on Saturday and would like to use the extra, but no idea how, thanks!

imanidiotsandwich · 25/11/2024 22:20

@Seaside3
You can rather try turning the pen to the furthest it will go or getting an insulin needle(normally a 1ml syringe with thin needle attached) and drawing the remainder out of the pen manually.
Then as long as you remove air bubbles and prime the syringe you can get another dose from the remainder

Seaside3 · 25/11/2024 22:32

Thank you. I'll give it a go.

Hi - I did my third dose on Saturday so we must have started a day apart! I’ve lost 10 lbs so far and have been feeling good (better than pre Mounjaro tbh when I had a lot more bloating and general digestive discomfort which has been going on for years). Today I’ve had diarrhoea and stomach cramps for the first time. Maybe a side effect? Maybe an unrelated bug? Hoping it’ll be gone by tomorrow.

jay55 · 25/11/2024 23:40

@ShaunaSadeki last week I had a midweek gain and ended up the same, then this week had a good loss.
I too didn't record my weight for a couple of days, daft as it's useful to see if it's cycle related etc but still doesn't feel good.
Hopefully yours will bugger off again with a whoosh.

PinkArt · 26/11/2024 00:45

Is anyone finding changes to their energy levels since they've started taking it? I feel like I have more energy and definitely haven't lost enough weight yet for that to be why.

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 26/11/2024 01:56

So a friend of mine started taking mounjaro. She took her 2nd dose last week and has been sick ever since, has severe stomach pain and been off work. She phoned her GP and they refused to see her because they hadn't prescribed it ? I have never heard of a GP refusing to see anyone on this basis, I didn't even know they were allowed ?

I am based in UK.

Doesn’t sound like the full story tbh - a Dr’s receptionist is not a Dr, so doesn’t have the necessary diagnostic skills to refuse an appointment. But a GP is not the first port of call for a medical emergency- A&E is. Certainly my GP would advise going in these circumstances. Has your friend tried going? Has she tried the usual over the counter remedies for sickness, Stomach cramps, diarrhoea? Has she phoned her prescriber? Most of them offer advice about meds to counteract side effects? I hope she feels better soon.

Gettingbysomehow · 26/11/2024 07:25

Week 2 day 4. I feel like Ive had my jaw wired shut. I put food in front of me and feel repulsed by it. Im only on 2.5 mgs but my appetite has cometely gone. I like the idea of food but the reality is I dont want it. Ive lost half a stone in a week and a half. This is madness.

KentishMama · 26/11/2024 07:43

I've just dropped to under 90 kg for the first time in several years. In total, I've now lost 10 kg this year. I lost the first few on Metformin, but I had to discontinue due to bad side effects - now about 3 kg down on MJ. I am week 2 day 5.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 26/11/2024 07:57

W2D6. Lost 4.5lbs in week 1 and nothing this. It is disheartening when life gets in the way, even with MJ! Still, maybe I’ll get a whoosh tonight or tomorrow night before Thurs morning weigh-in. I’m planning on delaying my third jab slightly - have work night out on Thurs, so will take it on Fri instead.

Pumpkinforever · 26/11/2024 08:10

Week 4 Day 1

SW 15:12

CW 14:12

GW 10: 7. (Just to be out of obese category)

Total loss 1 stone or 6.3kg or 14lbs

Thank you MJ. At 2.5 food suppression is still fantastic so I am sticking at 2.5 for another month. And unlike previous diets I want to keep going.

jay55 · 26/11/2024 08:12

So lovely to read great losses and motivation.

Took 5 last night for the first time, had horrid acid reflux and couldn't get to sleep for ages, won't be taking it at night again. Feel fine this morning though.

Selkie9 · 26/11/2024 08:28

W5 D1. Loss in the past week of 0.8kg (almost 2 pounds). I honestly thought I had lost nothing so was quite surprised stepping on the scale. We had pizza and drinks on the weekend and my suppression was quite low so I enjoyed more food than I have this whole time on MJ.

I took my first 5mg jab yesterday and by dinner time could already feel some suppression kicking in. Really hoping the 5mg turns off the wine noise this week as that didn't really go away on 2.5mg.

Total loss of 5.7kg (12.5 pounds) in 4 weeks so I'm hoping I'll be at a stone of loss by next week!

How has everyone who's started 5mg finding it so far?

JasonTindallsTan · 26/11/2024 08:31

Week 2 day 5, I’ve only lost 3/4 of a pound since taking the last jag. Realistically I know this happens for me every time I lose weight. Week 2 is always slow as hell as my body scrabbles around asking what the hell im doing to it and holds on to everything it has with all of its might. But I’m still gutted. I’m definitely still well in a calorie deficit and my activity remains at a high level so I know it will come off eventually but why not now???!!??
