👋 you might just have had a bug tho? Keep a food diary. I’ve found that mushrooms have gone straight through me since being on it, so lesson learned there!

👋 I am REALLY hoping just a bug. My daughter made dinner that night, so may also have been her lax cooking techniques 🤣 That will make me very happy. Not least because I am feeling really hungry this morning, only day 36 hours after dose 2. So I’m hoping no bad side effects on 2.5, so I can move to 5 after my first month, assuming it is needed.

jay55 · 25/11/2024 09:01

Well done @LegoDaft great loss.

I'm down 1.5kg this week for a total of 4.5kg. I'm delighted.
Im moving to 5 tonight. I'm not taking my golden dose, I'm going on holiday soon and won't be able to take a pen with me as I'm changing hotels frequently and not all have a fridge. So I'll save that dose for when I get back.

The weekend was tougher again but was walking more and had a good loss despite having a five guys burger yesterday (it was delicious, it didn't make me nauseous). In the new year I'll move to a Wednesday jab day I think as it's easier to control a Monday and Tuesday with less suppression.

Well done everyone losing and sticking with it.

Goldleafcat · 25/11/2024 10:01

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 24/11/2024 18:33

Did you do it all at once ? Thining of doing the bonus dose of 2.5 tomorrow, which would be 2 days after my 4th dose. Or not sure I should maybe wait till Tuesday ?

I did it at the same time. I did notice I had a bit of a dodgy tum a little while after but nothing too serious - not sure if it was the MJ or me being nervous about taking the extra dose 🤔😆. After that I was absolutely fine though. Taking my first 5mg later today. Eek! Have only lost about 2lbs this week (it was more, but then the weekend happened…). Hoping it’ll be a lot more successful. I need to exercise more willpower!

TeenLifeMum · 25/11/2024 10:07

@phyllidafosset sounds like a bug, but then my side effects have been tiredness. I am sleeping but struggle to keep my eyes open beyond 10pm (usually I’m a night owl up until 11.30/midnight). I’m not eating anything greasy or fatty so maybe that’s why I’ve not got sickness etc.

@Cantbesure I usually lose a lot in week one but fall off the diet wagon by well three so this is more sustainable and you’re not on the actually weightloss dose yet. See what it looks like by end of week five before getting disheartened.

week 2 jab was done last night without any drama. I’ve been off coffee last week but back drinking it this morning. Feeling more myself but also stressed as I’m awaiting post grad results on Friday and fluctuate between feeling confident I’ve passed and a sinking feeling I’ve failed. I really want a distinction but I think I’ll have to get over that as it’s very unlikely so I’m setting myself up for disappointment. I think it’s going to feel like a long and slow week so I’ll probably be on here. Apologise for my ramblings.

TeenLifeMum · 25/11/2024 10:18

Oooh and nsv - my clothes are noticeably looser today. Both my jeans and my pj bottoms are hanging much better. I think I’ve been wearing 14s when I should have gone into 16s, so now my 14s actually fit! I don’t think anyone will notice yet.

Although I’m only at the start of week 2 of mj, I started serious dieting the week before while awaiting my pen and lost 4lbs that week. So in 2 weeks I’ve lost 10lbs plus another lb off this morning 🎉

The best I’ve achieved on my own is 11st 9 last June and I’m currently 11st 12 so that’s me next ceiling to break through. Can’t imagine seeing a 10 at the start of the scales quite yet.

redavocado · 25/11/2024 10:20

@phyllidafosset I agree it sounds like a bug. I've picked up something from DD2 (thanks nursery!) and I feel awful! So much worse than the side effects I've had so far.

I'm due to have my first 5mg jab this week but I'm slightly nervous about increasing the dose when I'm ill so I'm going to wait a few days and maybe take a little less than 5 this week.

phyllidafosset · 25/11/2024 10:26

@TeenLifeMum fingers crossed for your results! Also wanted to say a distinction is great, but so is a merit! In the big wide world I’d say employers don’t care too much one way or the other. Both are a fantastic achievement!!

And it sounds like you are making great progress on the weight loss. I am looking forward to when my too small clothes (I have grown out of, or was too big for when I bought them) fit!!!! I started Mounjaro when I was down to one pair of fitting trousers (which were already a dress size bigger than my pre peri-menopause weight explosion).

I’m sorry you are feeling rotten! I hope yours passes as fast as mine did. I did find those little rehydration sachets helped. And massive extra sympathies for having to be unwell with little ones. It is so hard when they need care and all you want is to be in bed! Mine are teenagers so I didn’t have to worry about that bit.

TeenLifeMum · 25/11/2024 11:16

@phyllidafosset thank you. This is where I sound petty - the options are pass or distinction so merit isn’t an option. I’d say I’m a top end merit 😂😭 so “just a pass” would be annoying but, like you say, employers won’t care. I also have done the level 7 pgdip with 3 dc and a full time job, plus an unsupportive manager (previous manager signed me up for it and new manager was fuming and tried to pull me off it a month in). It’s been emotional and I’ve eaten my way through the stress… thus here I am on a weighted chat 😂

imanidiotsandwich · 25/11/2024 11:32

Weekly check in
Wk5 managed to get a full extra dose out of my first pen so that's a result
SW 11st 1 3/4
CW 10st 5 1/2

Over 10lbs down in a month and I'm very happy with that.

Side effects - fatigue seems to be dissipating but I'm still fecking freezing!

I was definitely feeling hungry last week but still not able to eat huge portions and well able to resist poor snack choices.

redavocado · 25/11/2024 12:00

Thanks @phyllidafosset! We're both on the rehydration sachets and hopefully on the mend. It's awful trying to look after little ones when you're ill yourself. Changing her bed when she'd thrown up in it and trying not to do the same myself was a real low point.

On the plus side, I've lost 9lb since the start of the month and it's not all down to being ill!

Caffeinequeen91 · 25/11/2024 12:43

I’m only on day 3 but this is my first working day on Mounjaro. I have just had to make myself have lunch. I wasn’t feeling hungry at all despite only having a very small 70 calories breakfast. I have usually snacked by now. What a change! I can’t believe this is what life must be like for some people who don’t have food noise. I hope it continues. I am wondering about dosing. I’m on the 2.5mg starter dose. Is there any NEED to continue increasing it every month?

See how it goes! I think there are people who continue on 2.5mg after the initial four weeks because they're seeing an effect. I briefly thought I'd be one of them but by week three, I had less suppression and decided to move up to 5mg as planned.

I'm glad it's going well at the moment!! 😊

PinkArt · 25/11/2024 13:14

phyllidafosset · 24/11/2024 23:28

Can I join you all? 😊 I started on 16th. It was all good until the evening of 18th when I started with a really upset stomach. The 19th was awful. Severely upset stomach. Couldn’t go to work. But was a bit better by evening, and better the next day (although I was rather dehydrated 🤦‍♀️). I am a little worried because I decided it must have been a 24 hour bug, but in reading a couple of these posts I wonder if it was side effects? I have taken my second dose, and fine so far, but worried about it coming back that badly. Is that really severe 24 hours normal for Mounjaro?
I lost 6lbs the first week - but basically no food for 36 hours was part of that 😩

I have IBS-D so was desperately hoping for the constipation side effects. My first week it went quite aggressively the other way though for a few days. TMI but liquid was shooting out of rme every half an hour or so. I thought I might not better able to continue on MJ if that was how I react to it, but since then it seems to have passed. My poos still aren't that solid but just my usual problems rather than anything worse. Your/ my body probably just needs some time to get used to the medication.

jay55 · 25/11/2024 13:15

I was hoping I'd be a 2.5 for a while person but I get food noise on day 6&7 so moving up to 5, and will be hopeful that will be my dose for a while.

Novjaro · 25/11/2024 14:13

Thanks @HammerbarnSausage, you’ve explained it perfectly! Id never noticed that it wasn’t injecting the whole glass bit but it makes perfect sense as there isn’t enough room in the pen for loads of liquid!

piscofrisco · 25/11/2024 14:40

Week 2 day 6 here. Feel tired and headachey and a bit low in mood. Still not super hungry but ate a bit more over the weekend out of necessity than really-was out and about and it was harder to make healthy choices. 2 gins and a wine over the two days which I think is ok.

Feel just very meh however.

NavySnake · 25/11/2024 15:18

I started today no nausea anything but that fingers crossed this is great information thank you 😊

Della82 · 25/11/2024 15:27

all I can think about is eating some Brazil nuts. I have no idea why! I don’t need it. Have had 750kcals today, museli and yoghurt, soup and a bread roll.

w2 D5

work is boring today which is half the problem!

when people say food noise stops do they literally not think about food at all?

piscofrisco · 25/11/2024 15:29

Maybe you are low in selenium? (Is that what's in Brazil nuts?!)
I think about food. But not if it's more out of habit really. Because when it comes to it I don't really fancy it. Weird.

Della82 · 25/11/2024 15:35

@piscofrisco I’m sure it is a habit. I’m retraining my body and brain to not need to eat all the time (off to google selenium 😂)

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 25/11/2024 15:37

Hi everyone and welcome to all the new joiners! 👋 and well done for all the losses, and for sticking with it (forgive the awful pun! 🤦‍♀️) for those who have not yet had much in the way of a result on the scales. I am so encouraged and inspired by you all and glad to be with you on this journey.

We are totally doing this! 🌟

I have also had craving for nuts Della82 and have been having the odd handful. They are great source of protein though so think is fine to have them (just not a bag a day due to the calories)

Hi jay55 I mentioned upthread that it does seem that there are refrigerated travel cases available for meds( micro sized, for meds like insulin that need to be kept cool) Just in case that might be handy for your trip so you can take your pen with you!
