I MUST stop being a twat 🤣

@MsRumpole I’m a twat with you. I was hoping for 7 but got 6 😂 also, one week in I’m frustrated I’m not skinny already. I have zero patience.

I'm going to the therma spa in Bath next Saturday and last time I was at a spa a guy commented on me being fat (in front of my 16yo daughter 🤬). Why do they think that needs announcing to their mates?!

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 24/11/2024 21:29

@Wiseowltaylor
In the first 24 hours I had temporary symptoms like when you're coming down with a cold, but milder (slight headache, mild fatigue, bit of post-nasal drip).
Then constipation kicked in the day after that.

Edited because I somehow managed to post before I had finished typing.

Honestly @TeenLifeMum in the context of your post it's not us who are the twats! Who does that? Christ! Well done on your loss 🙌

That is appalling behaviour. Last time someone commented on my weight (bloke) I said ‘Ahh but I can always lose weight, you unfortunately will always be a bit of Cunt’. Seemed to work. 😂

Novjaro · 24/11/2024 22:11

I’m also applying for twat of the day (and am glad to be in such good company). I’ve just done my 4th injection of my first pen and am really confused. I know about the ‘golden dose’ but does anyone know if the amount of liquid that goes in each time is the whole length of the window that shows the liquid, or is each injection about a quarter of that?

I’ve no idea how much I’ve injected as I used the extra bit too as I thought there was something wrong with the pen 🤯.

Not overly worried as I’ve only lost 5lb in 3 weeks (don’t get me wrong, I’ll happily take that!) so if I’ve given myself more then it shouldn’t be the end of the world.
thanks for any help anyone can give!

PresidentBarklett · 24/11/2024 22:13

I started Friday. Not much yesterday other than less of a desire to eat junk - spent an hour thinking in a very detached way about the leftover Magnum in the freezer, fascinated by my own lack of interest in it. Still felt reasonably hungry though.

Today, however, was a revelation. Has two crumpets, half a cab of baked beans and some mushrooms for breakfast. Or rather, I tried. The mushrooms were lovely and the beans were fine, but the crumpets? Ugh. I wasn't stuffed and could have forced it all down but it just did nothing for me, other than sitting in my mouth being a bit shit. I left half in the end. Never been physically disinterested in food when it was in my actual mouth before.

Rest of the day, I ate at the appropriate times and it was nice and all, but nothing special. The biggest reaction has been my lack of reaction if you see what I mean. Although I had salmon, veg and some new potatoes for tea and nearly cried at how tasty the carrots were. Is that a thing? I expected junk food might taste less good, but has anyone heard of healthy food tasting better?

phyllidafosset · 24/11/2024 23:28

Can I join you all? 😊 I started on 16th. It was all good until the evening of 18th when I started with a really upset stomach. The 19th was awful. Severely upset stomach. Couldn’t go to work. But was a bit better by evening, and better the next day (although I was rather dehydrated 🤦‍♀️). I am a little worried because I decided it must have been a 24 hour bug, but in reading a couple of these posts I wonder if it was side effects? I have taken my second dose, and fine so far, but worried about it coming back that badly. Is that really severe 24 hours normal for Mounjaro?
I lost 6lbs the first week - but basically no food for 36 hours was part of that 😩

Hi
I have just taken my 1st injection of Mounjaro. I do have health anxiety and I have had it in the fridge for the last 4 weeks summing it the courage to use it. Tonight I have geared myself up and taken the plunge. What type of side effects did you have as my anxiety is starting to kick in and I just need some grounding advice.

Everybody tolerates it differently. I've had no side effects at all. Hopefully you're one of the lucky ones.

Each jab is 0.6mL and contains 2.5mg of MJ. It's about 1/4 of the glass bit. If you did a normal jab plus the bonus you've likely had 5mg or more depending how much was used for priming.

Odfod · 25/11/2024 06:06

After being awake since 2:30 I'm seriously considering taking next weeks jab on Saturday night instead of Sunday. Or maybe in the morning.
Happened after last weeks jab too. I can't function and parent and work full time on such little sleep 😭😭😭

I jabbed last night and have had about 3 hours sleep. Hadn't considered it might be a side effect, but if so I might move to Saturday too.

Odfod · 25/11/2024 06:18

@evilharpy I could cry I'm so tired and I have a two hour workshop to facilitate this morning. I wanted to do it at night to sleep off any side effects but the only side effect is no sleep 🤦‍♀️ I'm sorry you're struggling too.

Cantbesure · 25/11/2024 06:36

Has anyone had a disappointing weight loss in the first week? I've had very strong suppression and eaten much less than I ever have before. But I've only lost 1.5kg which is similar to other times I've dieted without taking medication or spending £120. I'm feeling a bit deflated tbh.

Week 3 day 2, another lb off so that's half a stone, slower than some but much better than without the Mounjaro so I'm very happy, particularly as I've basically been eating what I want.

I have a family wedding in May which is 26 weeks away, and if I consistently lose 1lb a week until then I'll be 10st 9lb which is about the same as before I had kids and would be amazing, and very noticeable. Seems quite achievable when put like that but usually I can't sustain it.

That's still overweight - I'd need to be down to 10st to be a healthy BMI but I don't think I've ever weighed that little as an adult, I have a very curvy build so we'll see.

November2024 · 25/11/2024 07:14

@Oceangreyscale that is the crux of it for me too I finally feel like I will be able to sustain the losses so I am happy with slow and steady Weightloss with my goal weight target of December 2025.

👏👏👏 well done! I’m the same really. I had to switch scales as one set broke so either I’ve lost 7lbs in 3 weeks or 10lbs. Today is W4D1 and I’ll take the last of the 2.5mg tonight. Either way, I feel miles fitter (I have consciously exercised more) and my clothes feel looser. I’ve definitely toned up a bit. We’ve got friends staying with us on the 20th Dec that i haven’t seen for ages so it’ll be interesting to see if they notice.

Keep going. Keep a food diary/ app to check your macros and to ensure your body doesn’t go into starvation mode and retain weight. For me, this is an aid to prevent falling off the wagon whilst also having an entire lifestyle overhaul - no processed foods, limited alcohol and increased activity levels. So far, so good, I haven’t had any significant weight losses but neither have I chucked the towel in which I would’ve done by now.

I lost 6lbs the first week - but basically no food for 36 hours was part of that 😩

👋 you might just have had a bug tho? Keep a food diary. I’ve found that mushrooms have gone straight through me since being on it, so lesson learned there!

I think your body naturally tells you what you need. When I was pregnant, Kale was so tasty! Bizarre. I’m the same as you - no interest in junk food and the 6 mini magnums in the freezer remain untouched. Ditto the open bottle of wine.

It’s definitely made me realise I’ve had food noise all my adult life really.

LegoDaft · 25/11/2024 08:14

I’ve just done my week 3 weigh in and I’m so pleased that I’ve lost another 3.7lbs bringing my total loss to 11.2lbs in 3 weeks.

I have a lot to lose but I’m feeling really motivated and confident that this is a sustainable change for me. Previously, any time I’ve tried diets, slimming world etc I would be fed up by now.

Keep going everyone, we can do this!
