I had 6 in my 2.5 from Medexpress too

LilyRose88 · 23/11/2024 13:48

Asda online only give me four needles so I ordered a box of extra needles. I am planning on taking the extra dose for week 5 but am still a bit unsure about how to do it. Some people are buying insulin syringes and taking the extra fluid out via the rubber bung but I really don't fancy doing that. Do you twist the pen the same way as usual to get the extra fluid out or do you twist it the opposite way? I have watched a few videos of people doing it and I'm still not sure.

qotsa · 23/11/2024 13:53

@AllstarFacilier I don't suppose you'd share the code would you? I'm with medexpress so it would be great to get a discount other than the initial one 🙏🏼

November2024 · 23/11/2024 13:54

Did you order the needles that fit the pen @LilyRose88 already. I got mine from Amazon.

Glucorx Carepoint Ultra Pen Tips 32G x 4 mm (100 Pcs/Box) + Free Tetra-Sole Travel

Fast Aid 5885 Pre-Injection Swab,...

I used one this week (4)instead of the one I was sent with the pen. Exactly the same needle as what is supplied. Looks like there is a 2.5 or 3.75 left in the pen too. I am presuming for the extra dose you do the same as you always do.

BlueWalker · 23/11/2024 14:00

Weekly jab and weigh in day for me.
Week 2 Day 1
Starting weight: 16st 4lbs
Current weight: 15st 12lbs
Goal weight: 10st (ish)
That's a 6lb loss on a 2.5mg dose. No side effects other than feeling bloated on day 1 when I ate my last 'big' tea. I'm still getting hungry on that dose, but it's when I should, and making sensible food choices is more than manageable now. The maddest thing is that now I am getting physical hunger rather than mental (the 'food noise' my brain was previously hardwired to listen to). Instead of multiple bags of crisps blindly eaten I'll have one banana. Or a bowl of natural yoghurt with a sprinkling of granola. It feels like an emotional reset rather than a physical one.

bananasplice · 23/11/2024 14:04

lol I thought I was special getting the 6 needles but now I feel shortchanged that I only got 4 with the 2.5

IHateMozzies · 23/11/2024 15:07

Well done on all the losses!

AllstarFacilier · 23/11/2024 15:44

Is that with Med Express?

Iqdoctor, sorry should have said

Sorry it was iqdoctor. I got 23% off the first order and then put a code in for my second order and got the discount again.

Well injection day for me. Week 5 here we come. In the first few weeks I’ve lost just over 13lbs. I can’t help secretly wishing it were a little more after reading some of the stories on this thread, but I know I shouldn’t be greedy. My clothes feel less tight and I do feel better in myself already, so it’s a start 💪🏻

Ggmores · 23/11/2024 16:57

For those who have lost weight, did the food noise go in the first week? I’m only on day 4 now, but I seem to be eating the same, if not more. I’ve put on 1kg in total and wondered if this was normal until you move up to a higher dose. I’ve not noticed any appetite suppression so far. Also my tolerance for alcohol has gone up a lot!!

Della82 · 23/11/2024 17:01

@Demjay Please don’t be despondent, 13lbs in 4 weeks is amazing. I’ve never managed that in a month before.

Goldleafcat · 23/11/2024 17:01

@BlueWalker you have a very similar weight and target to me! I started at 16 6lbs and am now 15 12lbs. My target is around 11 stone but ideally I would be 10 stone… I managed to get from over 20 stone to 12 7lbs previously (just diet and walking) but piled quite a bit back on.

You’ve done really well for first week. My weight loss stalled but started going again and I’m moving up to 5mg on Monday so will see how that goes…

My noise had been muted to some extent but my willpower is strong this first week (as it always is the first week !! ) so I think it's a combination. I realised a little while ago that if only had half a protein yoghurt today (which I felt I had to eat before going to the gym) and hadn't eaten since so have just had a boiled egg and an avocado. My biggest thing is avoiding bread products - I find it has a massive impact and I'd got into a habit of having it for meals and snacks.

Mine went from the off. So did the lack of wanting alcohol, I do know someone who put weight on though. Everyone reacts differently.

Ditto! Diet and walking led to my dropping 6/7 stone previously - I plateaued at 12st, then the pandemic lack of movement and comfort eating followed by perimenopause wait gain hit and I went back up to nearly where I started. I now walk approx 8 miles a day 4 days a week, so at least that habit stuck. Onwards and downwards!

Demjay · 23/11/2024 17:36

Thank you so much @Della82 and @Mounjaropen 💓💓

qotsa · 23/11/2024 17:45

Ahhh. That's a shame (for me 😆) thanks @AllstarFacilier. I'll just have to stick to the price match credits they give you as I can't be bothered to move.

TeenLifeMum · 23/11/2024 18:08

Definitely more food noise tonight. Jab day tomorrow. Today I’ve had chocolate and I am thinking about the mint chocolate ice cream in the freezer. I am only on 900 calories so I’m going to weigh out a small portion and allow it. This needs to be a lifestyle change and realistic. Just need to ensure I don’t get into bad habits while on mj.

Goldleafcat · 23/11/2024 18:19

@BlueWalker 8 miles a day is outstanding! Here I was feeling chuffed for doing 18k steps the other day haha. I think I’m hitting peri menopause - so much weight gain and a lot of it on my tummy. That has started to come down which I am so glad about. I had a baby 2.5 years ago and I’m heavier than I was at 9 months - prob look pregnant again 😅

How do you order the extra needles. I’m with Asda at the moment and want to use the extra dose!

Replacement needles from Amazon link provided above on previous post and loads of videos on YouTube.

I went onto the Asda online chemist shop and ordered them. I had to buy a box of 100 needles so will be sharing them with some friends who are also taking Mounjaro. I think you can get the needles cheaper on Amazon actually. I paid £8 for mine with free delivery.
