Weekly weigh in and injection. Last 2.5 dose today.

starting BMI 50.4
Week 1 weigh in -14lbs
Week 2 weigh in -9lbs
Week 3 weigh in -5lbs
current BMI 46

It’s taken a fair bit of will power so I’m looking forward to the 5 dose next week and hoping no negative side affects of increasing the dose.

That is seriously amazing! 28lbs in 3 weeks? That’s 2 stone. 👏👏👏👏

Whattodowithaminute · 23/11/2024 09:44

Great losses @OliviaFlaversham @ExtraOnions @NoOneAtTheInn

And any others I’ve missed-really inspiring,

First week done for me as well.

SW 219.8 lbs BMI 32.5
CW 214.4 lbs BMI 31.8
This weeks loss - 5.4lbs
Total loss on MJ - 5.4lbs (12.4lbs since end of Sep)

Happy with that! Have managed to keep a good calorie level, eat enough to feel full, and MJ has definitely taken the edge off the hunger. I still think about food occasionally, and am hungry at mealtimes but that's fine! I need this to be sustainable long term. No wine all week which is good for me!

Minimal side effects.
Headache after taking.
Thirsty every day.
Burps.
Feeling a bit too full sometimes.
One morning with nausea but went away with food and ginger tea.
One runny bun but the chia seeds in my Porridge didn't agree with me 😂

Worst side effect was insomnia for the first 2-3 nights after taking. That was a killer but went pretty quickly.

Taking second 2.5mg this evening after I've played hockey. Hopefully I'll have the energy for a good run around on the pitch today!

Feeling positive. Having a decent loss has helped that. I know it's probably all water but I don't care!!!

Caffeinequeen91 · 23/11/2024 09:57

I’ve started this morning. I was quite scared doing the injection. Not of the needle but of side effects. I have small children. But here goes. I decided to do it this morning to get it over with and to be awake for any side effects but I’ll do future doses at night. I’ve just eaten my usual breakfast and I’m wondering how quickly it might kick in!

OliviaFlaversham · 23/11/2024 10:05

I know 2 stone in 3 weeks is amazing but being completely honest, my will power is ebbing and it is getting harder to resist binging and I have so much weight to lose! I’m already feeling despondent about not losing as much as last week (I know this is ridiculous) and how long it is going to take me to be healthy. Really hoping the 5 pen works well for me and really glad to be two stone lighter but it is hard to break the mind habits.

Nomidoriforbiginnes · 23/11/2024 10:06

So good to read about everyone’s progress - well done on some seriously impressive losses.

i took the bonus does last night from the 2.5mg pen, managed to get 0.75ml out and using that as a bridge before stating 5mg next Friday. Keen to see how others get on with moving to 5mg over the next couple of days. I’m definitely ready to move up as have been much hungrier this week compared to the earlier weeks. Have maintained good choices but could definitely have snacked on less healthy options some days. No side effects at all this week.

2lbs off this week taking me to 13lbs off since starting. I am delighted with this, still a long way to go but it somehow feels more achievable now. Also reassured that there is some willpower inside me helping to make good choices (either that or the cost of MJ making me determined not to fall off the wagon).

First NSV this week too, wanted to wear a pair of jeans yesterday that I’d become too large for, tried them thinking it was pointless as I’d still be too big for them but no, they fit, they weren’t tight and uncomfortable, they actually fit.

Sending good wishes for everyone in the forthcoming week.

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 23/11/2024 10:12

Weigh in day

SW - 85.5kg

End WK1 W - 82kg - down 3.5kg - (7.7lbs)

End Wk2 W - 81.3kg - down 0.7kg (1.5lbs)

End Wk3 W - 80kg - down 1.3kg (2.9lb)

Total lost (on mounjaro) - 5.5kg, 12.1lb

At end of week 3, just about to take my 4th injection. This last week has been great. No syntoms. No food noise, no snacking, just eating my meals. My only issue was yesterday where i felt i was craving sweet things, snacks etc but my period has arrived this week.

Does anyone know if you can take mounjaro a day early ? I really think this would help if I'm craving things on last day.

Pumpkinforever · 23/11/2024 10:13

Great achievements @OliviaFlaversham @AlwaysTimeForWine @ExtraOnions @NoOneAtTheInn

every pound counts no matter how little or how many 🤩

Methemummy · 23/11/2024 10:27

SW:16st
GW:13st

wk1-4.4lbs
wk2-2.2lbs

Some great losses happening in the group! Well done eveyone.

I have been MIA from the group this week as busy working. This is always a dangerous time for me, I work from home and with 2 teenage boys in the house there is always snacking food about. I have managed to largely avoid it, so very please about that. The food noise krept back in around day 5.

Unfortunately I haven't drunk as much as I should this week which I think probably impacted weight loss plus the fact I have been largely glued to my desk so had time for little exercise.

Still i'm 6lbs down in 2 weeks and feeling positive. At the inlaws this afternoon where there will be food flowing as they are a family of grazers. I injected yesterday so the supression is strong. I am not concerned about avoiding the food, more about people noticing and commenting. Apart from my husband, no one is aware of what I am doing, and I would like to keep it that way for now.

Wish me luck!

bananasplice · 23/11/2024 10:46

So 4 week update

26/10 93.6kg
2/11 91.3kg. - 2.3
10/11 90.0kg. - 1.3
16/11 88.5kg - 1.5
23/11 87.6kg - 0.9

So in 4 week, I am going to call it a stone 6kg loss.

5mg jab done and will see how this goes.

Very happy with that,

MsRumpole · 23/11/2024 10:46

I've been thinking quite a lot about suppression and wondering what people's experience of it wearing off is. At the beginning of this week, just after the injection, I was struggling to eat more than a couple of bites of anything.

That's somewhat worn off and by yesterday I was experiencing hunger, which made me anxious. But now I'm on Day 7 (due to take injection tonight but am moving it to tomorrow) and although I'm more able to eat something approximating a meal, I'm still finding that I'm eating quite slowly instead of gobbling, that I'm automatically taking much less food on my plate than I was previously, and that I'm getting full at a normal point of eating rather than sucking down everything. It's a really new experience for me to feel hungry and then to feel full.

I was at a breakfast buffet this morning and was thrilled to find myself wandering past the pastries without a backward glance despite being hungry. I've never been able to stop myself hoovering down the pastries. I had eggs, a couple of hash browns, beans and mushrooms, so about 450 calories, and that was me full.

bananasplice · 23/11/2024 10:47

Also in my 5 pen MedExpress sent me 6 x needles, I am not doing the bonus dose but I don't know if this is a new thing or I got lucky?

Whattodowithaminute · 23/11/2024 10:55

@MsRumpole nsv right there with avoiding pastries!

I do find my supression wears off, around day 5 for me. Like you i can barely eat at the start of the week but as the week progresses the meals get bigger ( but still with an acceptable range)

I take it as a positive, an opportunity to learn what my body needs. I eat slowly and listen to when my body tells me its full.

Doing this i have realised how much I overate at meals, hence gaining so much weight. And i no longer snack in between either.

I am hoping this learning will help me keep the weight off when I am ready to come off the injections. I make sure i am eating e meals and day and will continue to do so.

Well done for avoiding the pasteries!

Cantbesure · 23/11/2024 11:35

I was out last night and annoyingly I had no alcohol suppression and drank more than I should! Was so worried today that I'd be really suffering but I feel more or less ok other than my annoying cold!
I'm W1D6 and definitely hungrier today. Scales saying I've lost 1.8kg. Might be less tomorrow when the wine catches up with me!

BleachedJumper · 23/11/2024 11:54

TMI but the constipation has ramped up this week. Needed to go to the toilet since Wednesday and nothing happening, I’ve been impacted and resorted to dulcolax and suppositories. Did manage to clear things up this morning (a bloody hour in the toilet!) and I feel like I’ve ran a marathon.

Horrendous.

Wiped out lazy day on the sofa for me, which isn’t hard with the weather we’ve got.

I previously lost 6 stone and quite severe constipation played a part then, so I think it’s a me issue rather than mj when I change my eating habits. I seriously need to come up with a plan though to avoid these symptoms, possibly maintenance lactulose and chia/flax seeds.

NoOneAtTheInn · 23/11/2024 12:19

Ah thanks everyone. Well done to everyone else who weighed today on their losses. Onwards and downwards

November2024 · 23/11/2024 12:26

BMI 40.4 today.

Fourth injection of 2.5 mg however, I bought some extra needles so will use what’s left in the pen next week before I go onto the 5 mg. Lost 9lb in total since 1st of November. Happy with that.

Discovered I can’t eat bread without feeling overly full.

All my blood tests have improved significantly too (ANP at my GP’s doing regular monitoring of my bloods because I have Hashimoto Hypothyroidism, she is lovely).

Constipation on and off. I eat apricots, which helps. Fasting also helps with this too as I think I clear my system before I fill it again.

Headache today but that could have been the wine! Adding loads of ice to one glass now as this is all I can manage.

It is amazing how MJ works.

Arglefraster · 23/11/2024 12:29

MsRumpole
I don't have suppression like you describe at all, I have much lower food noise for the first 4 or 5 days but I can eat full meals etc I'm just counting calories (protein & fibre really) like I normally would but it's actually making me lose weight for once.
(have done 4th 2.5 & planning to stick at 2.5 for next pen)

Odfod · 23/11/2024 12:44

Sneaky weigh in this morning before J2 tomorrow night. Looking like a good half stone off this week which I'll take Smile

My new 5mg pen arrived yest - just did my 4th 2.5mg jab - and I got 7 needles with it so maybe it's something they do. Are you planning on doing the full 5mg? I think I will but am nervous and half considered 3.75 first

AllstarFacilier · 23/11/2024 13:14

I’ve just ordered my 2nd pen, I’ve gone for 5mg although I’m quite happy at 2.5 at the min. Same price though. I also used a 23% discount code, which I did with my first order, so I didn’t realise it wasn’t just for first timers.

No I had 6 needles in my 2.5mg from them too. I think it is case one won’t prime?

Is that with Med Express?
