Evening all
W1 D5.
I need to up my food I think.

This week I've eaten either a protein yoghurt or baby bel light (2) with cucumber and grapes for lunch then soup with croutons, or omelette or a poke bowl in the evening. I've had a couple of snacks of a slice of ham.

The best thing though is not having a massive snack coming after work and then dinner after. I haven't touched bread -other than the croutons - whereas bagels, crumpets, bread, toast etc are my complete weakness.

I've just had packet of mini digestives as I need to stay awake to be taxi to my teenagers!

JasonTindallsTan · 22/11/2024 20:47

Every week I buy us all sweets from the shop. Last week mine was chocolate orange giant buttons from Aldi. I still have more than 3/4 of a bag left. Just brought them through for my usual Friday night ‘treat’ and haven’t touched them. It’s like they’re not there. Before this I wouldn’t have been able to ignore them. It was as if I was unable to pass up the chance to eat something in case I never got the opportunity again.

Same here - bag of giant buttons that has been opened and remains unfinished 3 weeks later. Absolutely unheard of. Ditto the open bottle of wine in the fridge from last Saturday night, I am astonished it makes such a difference!

W3D4 I’ve been away for work since Monday so not weighed myself, will do when I wake up in the morning. Been at the mercy of food provided by work and pub dinners but just eaten small amounts: 2 slices of pizza instead of 4 or 5 and left food on my plate at dinner. I was deliberately sensible with drinking and had max 2 drinks until last night when I went a bit overboard but didn’t stuff myself like usual in a very hungover office full of treats today. I made sure I had Huel or soup for meals that were in my control.

My manager took me for Pho at lunchtime and I was satisfied after half of my favourite dish and when I got home after the delayed journey from hell I didn’t fancy much so just had yoghurt, granola and berries and didn’t pour myself a massive drink. I could definitely eat now, but not going to.

Still feeling in control but it’s an effort rather than strong suppression. Hoping for a loss since Monday but think it will be modest due to all the salt and the drinking and not enough exercise.

Good luck this weekend everyone! I’m off to stay with a friend but will continue to be sensible.

Well Friday night and I've eaten well today-under 1000 calories, no booze. I don't feel hungry really, but I do feel bored!
Dh and I were in bed by 9, listening to a radio play. Sad state of affairs I suppose when we get bored when not drinking. We need to find some other stuff to do, but we both love going out for dinner and (lots of) drinks and I'm missing it tbh (and it's only been two weeks).

My DH has a chest infection so is kipping in the spare room. I’m obviously putting on a sad face, but deep down I’m relishing a booze-free Friday night sleep with a lie-in tomorrow and no one disturbing me by snoring. I’ve also been in bed since 9 😂

PinkArt · 22/11/2024 22:21

Off topic @JasonTindallsTan and to be honest I've not got much interest in chocolate (who am I???) but do the Aldi chocolate orange buttons compare well with the M&S ones?

HammerbarnSausage · 23/11/2024 00:03

Right, I've got a goal now. I've just booked a cruise for January, so I'm hoping to get to 80kgs by then thats about 8kgs, in 6 weeks. Hopefully it's acheivable.

Whattodowithaminute · 23/11/2024 07:12

@HammerbarnSausage great to have a goal and you’ll look fabulous for the cruise.
First person noticed I’d lost some weight yesterday which felt good. Did a reformer Pilates session which I actually really enjoyed so may book a block to help with the toning up. My husband presented me with a… baked cheese, bread and charcuterie for dinner last night 🤯 but did limit bread, dipping and loaded with salad. Not sure I will feel amazing today.

really enjoying the extra energy I have, not so sluggish.

Whattodowithaminute · 23/11/2024 07:21

I've also realised I have 12 weeks to holiday, so at 1lb a week I will be sub 13stone which doesn’t quite feel bikini ready but does feel better than my current form

The Pilates will help with toning so you might well fancy a bikini. I did buy some lovely Freya tankini’s for holiday in the summer which were a good compromise. I do have massive norks though, so it is mainly for the cup size I need a brand like Freya for.

Definitely doable I’d say. 💪

piscofrisco · 23/11/2024 07:41

@Mounjaropen ha! Hope you had a nice sleep! And that dh is soon better.

Goal is good I think. I've s wedding in May-5 months is a longer term goal but time flies doesn't it. I've been wanting to not be fat for longer than 5 months and now wishing I'd started this sooner so I'm using that as my motivation as there will be pictures I will need to be in.

ah well I’ve not tried the M&S ones but I think if you like Aldi chocolate in general then the choc orange buttons are 👌🏻👌🏻

Typical - bloody dog woke me up to go out. Apparently I was the only one who could hear him 🤔

namechangedyetagain · 23/11/2024 08:13

Weekly weigh in today. Finally lost something! 3lbs! Though I have been ill this week and so didn't really eat for 2 days. So a total of 6lbs, with my 4th jab today. Really not as impressive as others and I was hoping for much more. Have just ordered my 5mg pen. Will use that next and see if that makes a difference. Else I'm not sure the financial cost is worth it.

I think the beauty of MJ is that longer-term goals seem more possible than before. I genuinely don’t feel like I’m about to fall off the wagon - either with food choices or booze.

Hi everyone,

Some steady losses going on :)

I have had a weird week, I have been feeling under the weather just the start of a cold so I am not sure if that will have an impact on the scales. Last night dh was desperate for a takeaway as I have refused up til now, I have a chicken tandoori chargrill and small Bombay potatoes, I will start my 5 pen today and was worried in the week that I should have ordered the 2.5 again but this showed me that I do need it as there is no way I would even been able to face that food a few weeks ago.
Will go and weigh in a bit and update you I am not expecting a huge loss this week as due on my period tomorrow but at least I am not eating all the chocolate in the house like I used to!

NoOneAtTheInn · 23/11/2024 08:29

Morning everyone,

First week done and I actually woke up wanting to eat again this morning so feel more confident about jabbing again this evening.

7.8lb or 3.5kg gone, phew. A nice start.
Aiming to lose 25lb total and that's 30% already! Although as we all know there will be a lot of water weight within that.

SW: 172lb
CW: 164.2lb
GW: 147lb

Setting myself a goal to try to get to the 150s this week, to lose 4.5lb. Maybe a bit ambitious for week 2 but you just never know.

Feeling positive again thanks for a lovely supportive group here.

rocketgal · 23/11/2024 08:33

@NoOneAtTheInn that's a great first week loss!

I can definitely see I've lost weight but scales are barely moving this week but sometimes this happens and then they suddenly drop so trying to remember this and stay strong! Plan for today is get back on the water, have slipped with this and up the protein 💪🏻

ShaunaSadeki · 23/11/2024 08:47

@NoOneAtTheInn you must be over the moon with that loss.

0.7kg loss between Monday morning and Saturday morning, which as a lot of it was out of my hands I am happy with, under usual circs a trip away would mean a gain and then healthy habits being lost for a while.

I should have had a small but proper dinner instead of of yoghurt last night as I woke up at 6am hungry today, managed to nod back off but had to get up at 8 and eat some breakfast.

ExtraOnions · 23/11/2024 09:32

First week finished, due my second jab this afternoon. I’ve lost 9lbs in my first week (I have a lot to lose). Not been hungry, or craving anything, only side effect has been a bit of nausea if I’ve eaten to much .. but that passes in about 20 minutes.

Here’s to week 2 !

OliviaFlaversham · 23/11/2024 09:42

Weekly weigh in and injection. Last 2.5 dose today.

starting BMI 50.4
Week 1 weigh in -14lbs
Week 2 weigh in -9lbs
Week 3 weigh in -5lbs
current BMI 46

It’s taken a fair bit of will power so I’m looking forward to the 5 dose next week and hoping no negative side affects of increasing the dose.
