Hope you don’t mind me joining.

I’ve been reading the thread since its start and it inspired me to get going.

SW 90kg
GW 70kg
CW 87.7kg

W2D1 lost 2.3kg in week 1

I was wiped out on days 2 and 3 of W1 so hoping I will be less affected this week.
my only other side effect is itchy skin

I’ve loved reading everyone’s progress it’s been really helpful :-)

Well done 👏🏻

Hi and welcome! Sounds like you’ve had an excellent start. 💪

piscofrisco · 21/11/2024 21:41

W2, day 2 today and fatigue has hit. I could have gone to bed at 7 and slept like a log. Full day of work tomorrow so hoping it lifts overnight.
Feel a bit hungrier than wk1 I think. But still had to force myself to eat enough really. I'm averaging between 950 and 1100 calories a day I would think.

Laks19 · 21/11/2024 21:49

Hi everyone,

so i’ve made a decision to stop unsure if its the right one, I was on week 4 and on 2.5 I dropped a stone. Not at goal weight but lately I’ve been getting abdominal cramps that come and go that radiate to lower and mid back. Google doesn’t bring much results so feel odd! Had my gallbladder removed so know its not that and bloods all back fine and urine. (GP said i’d be yellow by now if bile or if pancreatitis and thats been over week off theze random pains) I didn’t drink much water on mounjaro and unsure if that but urine was never a dark colour!

i’m gutted as I had hoped to get a few stone off. Sw was 15st and now at 14st I do wonder if I can still maybe get to 12 stone say by February? Or unlikely.

I’ve been so hungry the past 2 days 😭😭😭. I don’t know why. Maybe the cold? Anyone else?
Feeling fed up. Side effects are awful and I’m losing weight but I think it’s finally dawning on me just how much I have to lose before I’m actually going to feel good about myself again 😭. I know it’s a slow process, but I just want it to speed up 🙄😭. And I want to eat. Ridiculous I know.

Me too. So cold my fingers went white with red tips. Hungry a fair bit now and counting the days until next jab. Thinking I’ll do it tomorrow, a day early as will need to do it on a Friday in the future. Have ordered the 5 and will hopefully be able to collect on Saturday though I’ll call again as last time there was a bit of a hiccup when the pharmacy denied having it at all and I had to get the ASDA mounjaro hotline to call them! I could eat soooooooooo many crisps right now.

JasonTindallsTan · 21/11/2024 22:08

Just taken my second dose. Guess I’m back for week 2. Have definitely mindlessly grazed today so I was ready for the top up. I hope this week is as straightforward as the last one. I don’t know if it’s psychosomatic or what but my nausea hits almost instantly that needle comes out.

If anecdata helps, I lost from around 15st to 11st about a decade ago with just willpower and calorie deficit. It took roughly a year and a half I think.
I've had a couple of wines so can't do the maths with your timeframe but I was averaging about a pound a week - I think that would be more like one stone by Feb but at a healthy rate.

4th jab day. I've lost a measly 0.8kg this week. However having gained earlier in the week after a binge drinking session last weekend, I'm amazed I've lost anything at all. Still no side effects, and feeling good. I do get very tired on the evening of jab day, so might bring it back to Thurs next week, as it's kind of ruining my Friday nights.
Will attempt the hard twist next week. 💪

First jab yesterday morning, feels like it's working already - I don't fancy any breakfast and feel completely indifferent to food this morning. Only thing I've noticed is a faster than normal heart rate last night but have read that is a usual side effect.

Morning everyone, is anyone with Voy? I've just got an email to say my next order has been approved and when I've checked the app it's 5mg. Not sure if I want to jump up to that dose but then I don't feel the suppression is as good on week 3. I'm guessing I could contact them and ask to stay on 2.5? Anyone else been with them and what did you do? Thank you

Gettingbysomehow · 22/11/2024 07:57

Started week 2 with my 2nd injection. The fluid wouldnt go in and I realised I was pressing the needle into my leg too hard. I eased up a bit and it went in. Not a moment too soon.
Ive been in 100% supression all week but woke up at 3am feeling ravenously hungry for the first time.
Im finding this injection incredibly clunky and weird and Im a trained nurse. I may just use an insulin needle for my doses. 4 pounds off this week.

I'm with Voy and moving to 5mg automatically. I think most suppliers will increase the dose unless you ask otherwise. I think Voy have a chart showing this pathway. The choice comes at about 10mg if I remember correctly.

At week 2/3 I considered staying on 2.5mg because it was working well. I'm in the middle of week 4 now and finding I have zero suppression. I'm looking forward to 5mg! Remember, you can always take a half dose or something between 2.5mg and 5mg if you're not ready for 5mg.

fubard · 22/11/2024 08:15

Took my 2nd jab last night (a night early as I'm out with work tonight).

Last Friday 16st 2lb this morning 15st 10lb.

I've been fastidious in recording everything I've eaten into My Fitness Pal. I've generally consumed 1900-2000 calories a day and tried to get at least 100g of protein in.

Whilst I only noticed suppression on Saturday & Sunday I wasn't sure if that was placebo and a willingness to lose weight, however by Wednesday I definitely noticed hunger was back.

Onwards to week 2!

Couldn’t agree more about the injection and also know my way around a jag on a professional level. I find you have to push the plunger at a very precise angle or it doesn’t work properly.

Hi all,

I am over the moon! It’s weigh in day today and I’m due to take my first 5mg dose this afternoon. So I’ve completed my first four weeks in Mounjaro… and I have a total loss of …… 6.1kg! That’s 1/2lb shy of a full stone!

I’ve been really lucky that I’ve only had a bit of constipation as a side effect and as I’ve been an IBS-D sufferer, this was almost a welcome change!

I’ve had good suppression, not full and have averaged about 1200 calories a day, which is under my 1600 target, but I have hit my protein target (100g a day) 85% of the time. I’ve also had an awful cold this week so it’s been extra work to make sure I’m getting that in!

W4 D7
SW: 108.95kg
GW: 73kg
CW: 102.85kg

I am a little apprehensive about increased side effects with the 5mg but fingers crossed they won’t be too bad!

Cantbesure · 22/11/2024 11:11

W1 D5 for me. Amazed at the suppression although I have felt hungry this morning so having some granola and yogurt. Going out for lunch and drinks for the first time and a bit nervous. Any tips?

Two pounds off this week. I was hoping for four again but two is good.
Eating out twice yesterday was far too much but I didn't feel ill doing it, so that feels like a happy medium.

I was worried about that, met a friend for breakfast the morning after I started and had visions of me throwing up or running to the toilet! Thankfully all fine, even when I’ve been on a night out and had a few drinks. Hopefully you will too 👍

Hi Laks19 sorry about the pains you’ve been having that does not sound nice. Did your GP think it might be Mounjaro related, or something else?

Did they check your kidneys? The kind of pain you described sounds similar to the kind I had when I had a kidney infection. I’ve heard this can be similar for kidney stones too.

Still a great result losing a stone though, well done and let us know how you’re doing x

Also v important for your health to stay hydrated, even if you don’t feel like it and helps with side effects too
