Had a late dinner so will pop one now and see what they’re like, they’re chewable ones.

Jabbing in 45 mins once dinner has gone down a bit, swapping thigh tonight and after reading up on here will hold it in for longer and count for 20

Have a good evening all and catch up again at some point tomorrow 🩷

Welcome newbies. Well done on losses. Had first meet with voy coach today, positive and nice to have the extra layer of motivation/support. Weighin tomorrow and start of W3. Thought I would stay on 2.5 but think I will be ready to go up in dose, minimal side effects but think it’s will power not suppression that’s keeping me from eating everything in sight

Amelanchier · 20/11/2024 21:07

W2D1 here.
No weight loss last week. I had some suppression, thought I was eating healthily and smaller portions but hey ho. Moderate side effects - mild constipation, slight nausea for first few days. Last couple of days I was stuck in all day workshops and ate more carbs as a result so maybe that is why there was no loss.

So today I am back to MFP counting in the hope I lose something this week.Focussing on protein, fibre and water.

I lost 9lbs through trying to calorie countbut struggling to be consistent and that took over 9 months! 4lbs went back on a couple of weeks before I started MJ. So my MJ start weight is 14 stone and if I could get to 10.5 I would still be quite overweight but lighter than I have been in 25 years. Ideal to get to normal but that would be 9st3 so maybe a tad ambitious.

Goldleafcat · 20/11/2024 21:15

@LindtCurves The effects are something to behold I think - everyone is reacting differently. My period has suddenly gone AWOL! Normally very regular - had a brief moment that looked like a period then poof it was gone. Wondering if I’m suddenly peri menopausal but who knows.

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 20/11/2024 21:19

@KeepCalmandGiveItaGo I did my second injection this evening too.

@Amelanchier I'm also trying to get in enough protein, fibre and water each day.

Goldleafcat · 20/11/2024 21:24

@OliviaFlaversham I think so! Apparently you can apply a lot of pressure to force the pen to give another dose, but I’ve read mixed reviews (it can break) so just ordered some syringes…

LilyRose88 · 20/11/2024 21:27

I did my second injection of 2.5mg on Sunday. I've had excellent suppression and zero food noise. As a result I've lost 6lbs since I started. I've had some low level nausea throughout and a bit of acid reflux on the day of my jab, but that's about it. I've ordered my next pen and decided to go for 5mg. I may only go up to 3.75mg injection to start with, depending on how well I'm doing at week 4 of my 2.5mg. I'm also toying with the idea of trying to use the 5th 'golden dose' of each pen.

MareeMint · 20/11/2024 21:46

Selkie9 · 20/11/2024 06:42

If you're not twisting to 1 then you won't be getting the full dose. I think most people's pens here take 60 clicks to get it round to one. Definitely check with your pharmacy as soon as you can

I rang the chemist as I was worried I hadn't got the full dose but apparently my doctor prescribed the large dose container to make it more economical, so I just do 10 clicks to still get the usual dosage. 🙂

Gettingbysomehow · 20/11/2024 22:03

I just cant cope with food at all. Eating a meal makes me sick for hours Im just living off protein bars and slimfast.

HammerbarnSausage · 20/11/2024 22:10

My doctor suggested this too, but I wasn't sure as everything I've read suggests it needs to be used within 30 days. Let us know how it goes beyond the 30 days.

mydogisacloud · 20/11/2024 22:39

W2 D3

Made the mistake of meeting up with a friend for a catch up and dinner. and thinking "fuck it"

Pint and a half of cider was the first mistake - waaaaaaay too much volume to start the evening with

Chose a healthy ish dish off the menu, but ate it all (not even a huge portion)... but i think that combined with the cider (and then copious glasses of water thanks to salty kale!) filled my stomach way too much.

Not expecting a comfortable night ahead 😫😫

NoOneAtTheInn · 20/11/2024 23:34

Some great losses everyone!

I am on day 5 I think - first weigh in this weekend. Complete suppression, I've lost all interest in food and booze. The booze is the more miraculous one. My focus for week 2 is going to be protein and all that food stuff - week 1 has just been about starting and seeing.

Nausea finally died down today. Where do you buy ginger sweets anyway? Pharmacy? I am not looking forward to it coming bank with second jab.

@Justmelancs I can't advise on this in any way but is it worth looking at microdosing? I googled it a bit earlier in week as nausea was so bad I wondered about doing a smaller jab next week (1.25mg). There is some stuff on random forums which suggests this is possible and works for some. Maybe worth researching so you can stay on MJ and see if you can tolerate it.

Notadream · 20/11/2024 23:46

Evening all, thanks for the new thread, already on 16 pages wow !! I had terrible nausea for the first 3 days of W3 , its now W3 D6 and my Nausea went away yesterday, all food noise has come back but I remain with a strange full feeling, so i;m picking at the wrong things and back on the red wine although its only been about 100mls each night I'm pleased as it scratches the after work itch and i'll not get through a bottle a week at this rate which is really good for my pocket and my liver. Did a sneaky weigh in this morning to find i'd put on 4lbs of the 5 I've lost, gutted! Mananged to swap to Oushk this week and have decided to do another month on 2.5mg due to the awful side effects I've been getting at the beginning of the weeks. Pleased as this pen is £70 cheaper than I originally paid so that is a result. New side effect this week has been hiccups and a few burps.

RayonSunrise · 21/11/2024 00:06

Hello all! I've just put myself through a 10h flight (work trip) and so have faced quite a bit of food I've not deliberately chosen. I still feel fine, but I haven't finished anything I've started - even my weak-willed beer between connecting flights was left half-drunk.

I am now DESPERATE to do some exercise after all this sitting down! Maybe after I've finally slept.

Gettingbysomehow · 21/11/2024 07:28

If I try and eat a full meal especially before bed my stomach is like a fully loaded washing machine on spin all night. I have to eat very small amounts duri g the day and nothing before bed.

LegoDaft · 21/11/2024 07:32

Well done on all the losses everyone!
W3D4 and can’t believe how well this is working for me! 7.5lbs down in 2 weeks and no food noise or cravings whatsoever. Just trying to decide whether to stick to 2.5mg or move up to 5mg after the bonus 5th dose.

For the first time in my adult life I feel like I’m going into the Christmas period in control of my food intake and will not feel disgusted with myself come January!

fubard · 21/11/2024 07:38

TeenLifeMum · 20/11/2024 20:53

Did everyone else find week one the longest week ever?

Yep!! Especially by Tuesday when suppression was wearing off! Tonight is jab night (night early as I’m out straight from work tomorrow)

Mounjaropen · 21/11/2024 07:44

I naturally low carb, DH is a carb monster. He’s got severe man flu 🙄 so wanted carbonara last night after driving back hours from a conference (fair enough). I’d only had a boiled egg all day so instead of cooking two meals I also had the Pasta (which I made, traditional-style with egg yolks/parmesan etc). Interestingly, I have a rumbly tummy this morning which I’ve not had for 3 weeks. I think if you are low-carbing it must help the feelings of being satisfied?

Back to protein/veg/salad today. DH will have to fit in 😂

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 21/11/2024 07:56

W2D1 - official week 1 loss was 4.5lbs, hurray! V pleased with that. I’ll take my new dose tonight when I get home. Shotsy kindly says I’m 12% of the way towards my goal, which sounds like a lot in just one week. I do expect it will slow down but it’s a nice starting boost.

On the downside I have toothache and I’m going to have to go to the dentist. I don’t want to tell him I’m on MJ, because he’s my uncle. Anyone have any idea how MJ interacts with dental anaesthesia?

CaptainCabinetsTrappedInCabinets · 21/11/2024 08:30

Weigh day today. Another 3lb lost for a total of 7lb in 2 weeks. Or 3.4kg for those on the metric system.

Just another 60-odd kilo to go 😂 third jab done. Lets see how week 3 goes.

McZeba · 21/11/2024 08:33

Morning all x

SW 12.9
Wk 1 1lb loss
Wk 2 4lb loss
CW 12.5lb
GW 10.9

Suppression for me means food noise is manageable but the down side of this is I don't fancy or really enjoy my evening meal and nothing tastes as good as before.

Alcohol is never on my mind, I've tested myself by thinking about my favourite frozen margarita and the desire isn't there to even look forward to one.

No longer bloated and haven't been since Wk1 D2 - massive plus!

Bowel movements are not what they were but they are moving a little daily.

Looking forward to 4 weeks time when I hope I am still moving towards my GW.

Hope everyone can keep positive and keep posting when you're not - everyone here is a fantastic support Flowers

For me personally I definitely feel like low carb is ‘the best’ approach for weight loss and management. Left to my own devices, I’m a complete carb addict and really struggle to moderate on them, constantly seeking the highs and they fill me briefly but I’m definitely looking to replenish on carbs within an hour.

I have eaten potatoes twice this week, in smaller portions as a treat for the first time in four weeks.

I’m on W4D4, did a weigh in this morning and officially lost a stone! Feeling very pleased with that.

I am experiencing constipation, which is not unusual when I’m on a diet/healthier eating. I picked up some laxido sachets yesterday and might use one today.

Welcome to all the new joiners, we have quite a few of us now! It’s really such a positive step that we’ve all made to prioritise ourselves and our health, I’m sure for a lot of us we’ve put our own needs to the back of the pile for some time ahead of making this step.

MsRumpole · 21/11/2024 08:55

I can't eat carbs in the same way at all. I can eat a salad or something proteiny (just about) but I was given a bag of free pretzels yesterday and ate about 5 before losing the will to live and sticking them in the bin. I literally get fed up with chewing 🤣. It's the same with sweet carbs. I do find that I still enjoy food, but with carbs after a few bites they just taste really dull.

JasonTindallsTan · 21/11/2024 09:19

Official first week weigh in 5.5lb off. Second injection tonight. I absolutely smashed a bowl of pasta last night so I’m definitely ready.

I’m back within 0.5lb of my lowest weight this year and I’m hopeful that next week I’ll get down into the next stone bracket for the first time in quite a while.

Oceangreyscale · 21/11/2024 10:54

Wk 2 day 5, definitely less suppression than the first week, hopefully will be back again next week. There is some.

Interestingly no change at all in how much I fancy alcohol, but I wasn't drinking every night anyway, I have it if I'm out. Couple of glasses last night and will be drinking tonight too.
