A better day yesterday re the nausea.
I had put in a message to VOY and they answered. Their advice was ginger so I'll get some sweets.
Better gut health this week so far.

I notice some people are having a lot more suppresion than others. Im post menopausal and have tital supression on 2.5mgs. I just chucked my dinner in the bin, couldnt eat it.
Is it the premenopausal ladies who have less resistance. Id love to know.

I'm peri and not really getting any suppression. I have still lost a bit of weight though so it must be doing something.

I finally did my first injection last night. I followed the pharmacy's instruction of doing only 10 clicks but it wasn't on one, which the instruction leaflet said you turn until it's on one. Is this normal? Do some people only have to do a portion of a dose or did I do it incorrectly?

If you're not twisting to 1 then you won't be getting the full dose. I think most people's pens here take 60 clicks to get it round to one. Definitely check with your pharmacy as soon as you can

This Thursday is week 3 for me and I have lost 11lbs. I can’t believe it, I feel so much better in myself! 5mg is ordered and approved and on its way for me to see how I get on with that. I’ve had zero negative side effects and long may it continue! If anybody has tips on how not to bruise myself with the (absolutely painless) needle that would be appreciated!!

I'm still bruised from week 2 where I injected in the top of my thigh and nicked a vein but week 1 and 3 I've done it to the outer side of the dark area indicated on the instructions and it hasn't marked at all. Seems best to aim for fat!

This is why I do my stomach plenty of blubber there to soften the blow!

I'm too much of a wuss to do the stomach!

piscofrisco · 20/11/2024 07:42

My poem took ages and loads of clicks to get to 1.
W2D2 bit of faint nausea and a headache across the forehead this morning. Feel hungry ish I think but not so much I need to eat immediately as normally would.

Caffeinequeen91 · 20/11/2024 08:11

My first pen should hopefully arrive today. Is it best to use it morning, day, evening or before bed?

Jabtastic · 20/11/2024 08:16

I'm really annoyed mine is late as I'm solo parenting tonight so I'm a bit concerned about upping my dose in case it makes me ill. I wanted to take it first thing.

My supplier’s advice was to do it before bed so you sleep through any nausea. Good luck!

jay55 · 20/11/2024 09:53

I'm peri and have reasonable suppression but not much weight loss. Food noise is mostly gone but can rear up and totally dominate at times of stress.
Walking home from the station in the cold yesterday all I could think about was apple crumble. But hadn't really thought about food all day until then.

piscofrisco · 20/11/2024 09:56

@jay55 I'm also peri and whilst I have lost a little and appetite suppression is good, I think it will be a slow process for me.

Do you think your thinking about apple crumble was more in the mind and sort of out of habit or were you actually hungry?

I'm fascinated by how this works and still only in week 2 so finding it hard to work out if I'm really hungry or I just think I should be.

JasonTindallsTan · 20/11/2024 09:57

I take mine just before bed but I did find last week that I had very lucid dreams that night. Having previously tried Ozempic but gave up as my head wasn’t in the right place, that seems to be a thing for me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Im W1D6. Had a few chocolate buttons after my tea last night but it was a conscious choice, I’d been to football training for an hour in the freezing cold and I needed a wee boost. I’m finding my suppression is limited to snacks on the whole and I am still ok eating a decent sized meal at meal times. My cals are coming in around 1400-1800 per day but I’m doing 10000+ steps every day (have done for the last 6 months so a change is already made) and it’s all just really going well. Bit of nausea day after my first jab but nothing excessive. Will do proper weigh tomorrow but currently I’m about 5.5lb down.

JC50 · 20/11/2024 10:01

Hi, hope you don't mind me joining in.
I started with 2.5 on 27th October, currently 8lb down and feeling ok.

I was going to order my second pen for this weekend but have been interested reading about people getting a fifth dose so might see if I can do that and postpone it til next week - every little bit helps especially at this time of year.

I'm interested to know what lifestyle changes people are making with a view to longer term maintenance. I started intermittent fasting the day after my first mounjaro dose and I'm loving that, I've also dragged myself back to the gym and am feeling much better for getting some regular exercise.

I'm menopausal and weight loss has been hard since perimenopause symptoms started so I'm absolutely loving this. I just want to make it a long term thing and no gain all the weight back when I stop using mounjaro.

I'm the same. I can't work out if I'm hungry or it's habit or I think I should be hungry or what!

Oh my. The dreams. I'm only on W1d3 but I woke last night not long after falling asleep as I was convinced my pillow was crawling with large black crickets.

Laks19 · 20/11/2024 11:02

Has anyone experienced back pain dull lasting for days and hours with mounjaro? seen gp bloods and urine all fine x

piscofrisco · 20/11/2024 11:03

A little bit I think. More in my shoulders and neck. I put it down to bad posture but now you say it!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/11/2024 11:10

No @Laks19, that sounds really worrying. Is there a chance you've hurt your back in some other way, or is the Mounjaro the only thing that's different?

@Odfod that's terrifying! I would have freaked out completely!

W1D7 and wondering whether to take my next dose first thing tomorrow or after work. I have a full-on day in the office tomorrow, but on Friday I'm driving 3 hours to my in-laws. Not sure which is worse in terms of when to schedule feeling a bit off! I didn't have any particular symptoms from the first dose except for a headache and funny taste in my mouth though, so I might be lucky. Also slightly worried that MIL will have made a nice meal and I might not be able to eat very much of it, but hopefully I can manage enough to look polite. Food is so socially hedged around, isn't it?

Thanks no injury, it’s like a dull pain that is from stomach and radiates to lower back. Comes in waves then goes again. No link to anything now I feel. Mounjaro only change in life but on week 4 now so odd :(

Justmelancs · 20/11/2024 11:54

Hi, I’ve just found this thread. I’m day 4 of week 2 and am thinking of stopping. Week 1 was great, a little nausea but I wanted to eat. Week 2 is a different story, I’ve been throwing up alot and can’t face food at all. I’ve lost 9lbs in that time which is great but I don’t think it’s worth it for how awful I’ve been feeling these past few days. Has anyone else experienced bad sickness? Did it ease? I’m very conscious that I’m not getting any nutrients. Help! 😂

BleachedJumper · 20/11/2024 11:57

I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough time with it @JustAboutHangingInThere, sending sympathy.

I think feeling nauseous is quite a common side effect, but I don’t think vomiting is ideal. Have you noticed any particular triggers for the vomiting episodes? Like directly after eating rich food?

Bless you. I haven’t had nausea but I’ve had really bad diarrhoea. The one thing I will say is it has been getting much better (at one point I thought I might have to stop). It also is affected by what I eat. Avoiding dairy, fatty food and alcohol helps a lot

Thanks Demjay. Unfortunately I’ve thrown up everything so far this week and that was a struggle to eat in the first place. Literally just cereal and chopped up apple. My husband isn’t impressed and thinks I should stop and I’m inclined to agree with him at the moment! Glad to hear you’re feeling much better. What week are you on?
