Thanks Demjay. Unfortunately I’ve thrown up everything so far this week and that was a struggle to eat in the first place. Literally just cereal and chopped up apple. My husband isn’t impressed and thinks I should stop and I’m inclined to agree with him at the moment! Glad to hear you’re feeling much better. What week are you on?

Ugh that sounds horrible.

I’m half way through week 4. Week 3 was the absolute worst for me, but this week feels much more manageable. I tend to find symptoms are worst 2-4 days after injection..

Jabtastic · 20/11/2024 12:29

My new jab and syringes for bonus dose will be arriving within the same hour. Idk what to do!

Jabtastic · 20/11/2024 12:34

So this is the syringe from Amazon it's marked sterile insulin syringe so I'm assuming it's OK to use!

A better day yesterday re the nausea.
I had put in a message to VOY and they answered. Their advice was ginger so I'll get some sweets.
Better gut health this week so far.

🙂👍🩷

I'm really annoyed mine is late as I'm solo parenting tonight so I'm a bit concerned about upping my dose in case it makes me ill. I wanted to take it first thing.

Oh so frustrating Jabtastic, has it still not arrived? Are you able to see the tracking on dispatch? Hope it gets to you soon (have not caught up with all the messages yet so you may have already replied with good news!) x

I take mine just before bed but I did find last week that I had very lucid dreams that night. Having previously tried Ozempic but gave up as my head wasn’t in the right place, that seems to be a thing for me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Im W1D6. Had a few chocolate buttons after my tea last night but it was a conscious choice, I’d been to football training for an hour in the freezing cold and I needed a wee boost. I’m finding my suppression is limited to snacks on the whole and I am still ok eating a decent sized meal at meal times. My cals are coming in around 1400-1800 per day but I’m doing 10000+ steps every day (have done for the last 6 months so a change is already made) and it’s all just really going well. Bit of nausea day after my first jab but nothing excessive. Will do proper weigh tomorrow but currently I’m about 5.5lb down.

Hi JasonTindallsTan well done it sounds like you’re taking to it well and doing great with the exercise side of things, especially the daily steps.

Can I ask what your step routine looks like to get to 10,000 and above? Like do you do a block of steps at particular times of day and made it part of your normal routine, or are you just generally v up and active on your feet throughout the day? All the best with jab 2/ week 2

Thanks no injury, it’s like a dull pain that is from stomach and radiates to lower back. Comes in waves then goes again. No link to anything now I feel. Mounjaro only change in life but on week 4 now so odd :(

Hi Laks19 I’m no medic, but could it be gallbladder?

I had to have mine removed due to gallstones, unfortunately weight loss is a risk factor for them. However the pain profile I had was a bit different, sharp upper abdominal and radiated to upper back/ shoulders, rather than lower. Might be worth getting yours checked out, gallbladder sludge is also a thing and I believe the pain is a bit more dull with this.

W1D7
Still having noticeable appetite suppression... I was expecting it to wear off before the second injection.

Side effects mostly manageable:

  • Initial constipation (improved somewhat with milled flaxseed)
  • On day 4 and day 6 I had a couple of hours of extreme intestinal rumbling noise followed by a couple of hours of passing an amount of gas that I didn't realise one human could produce. No foods in common to both episodes; I'm wondering if it's related to timing e.g. eating lunch when my stomach hadn't finished digesting breakfast?
qotsa · 20/11/2024 13:14

Hi. I've been reading these threads and had my pen in the fridge for over a month as I've been ill. Just had blood tests back and all good so I have just done it. It's so hard not thinking something awful is going to happen. Had a couple of woosh type feelings and my heart rate has gone up. It's scary. Having read these threads though I know there are some strange side effects. I have about three stone to loose 🙏🏼

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 20/11/2024 13:16

Justmelancs · 20/11/2024 11:54

Hi, I’ve just found this thread. I’m day 4 of week 2 and am thinking of stopping. Week 1 was great, a little nausea but I wanted to eat. Week 2 is a different story, I’ve been throwing up alot and can’t face food at all. I’ve lost 9lbs in that time which is great but I don’t think it’s worth it for how awful I’ve been feeling these past few days. Has anyone else experienced bad sickness? Did it ease? I’m very conscious that I’m not getting any nutrients. Help! 😂

So sorry you’re sick in week 2 Justmelancs if you’ve been sick for a few days you might want to see your GP today or call 111, just to get checked and make sure you’re not having an adverse reaction.

If it is a side effect they might be able to give you some anti nausea meds, ginger can help some. You may need to try and eat something, if you get too emptied out it can trigger nausea and be a bit of a cycle. Also drink water as you’ll have lost a lot of fluids. Let us know how you’re doing x

W1 D4 - not sure if I'm feeling any suppression although there's definitely some food lethargy, right now I'm slightly hungry but can't be arsed to eat. I haven't snacked at all. The weird muscle soreness has pretty much gone.

Sure, I basically committed back in July to up my activity levels. So I joined a nearby gym and I get up and go and do around 40 minutes (a mile on the treadmill then strength and resistance stuff for the rest of the time) I then come home and give the dog a quick 20-25 minute walk. I’m lucky that I work from home so it can fit in with that. On the day I have football training I have a lie in and just do that as it’s an easy 5k steps - well - not easy because I’m 16+ stone trying to play football.

Basically that routine means I have around 6000-7000 steps before 9am.

I then walk the dog in the evening for a slightly longer walk about 45 mins. Usually means I sit between 11,000-13,000 for the day depending on how active I have been otherwise.

Prior to implanting this and being really disciplined about it - meaning getting up and going even when there is snow on the ground - like today - I was lucky if I’d hit 5-6000 in a day.

I will take it easy on at least one weekend day but if I’m going to watch football I get an easy 6k steps up and down to the ground and tend to do the rest just pottering.

So long as my average stays above 10000 then I’m happy. It’s tight at the minute but I’m really proud of myself for getting moving and I’m glad I set the habit in the summer. Just need to sort the eating out and I should be golden.

I’m day 4 too. I’m not snacking at all. Dh had a kitkat and left the wrapper on the side and I realised how much that would normally lead me to grab one to eat. I didn’t. I’ve decided that I’ll restrict chocolate to weekends only post mounjaro (I like to have a plan).

i wonder if next week I’ll catch up with the nausea. Not had that at all so far. I’m very tired but also waking at 6am, so might be that.

Mrsredlipstick · 20/11/2024 15:01

The rib pain is back, W3 D3.
No nausea, burps or constipation anymore.

I only weigh once a week. I feel my clothes are looser. I'm just worried I have gallstones as my brother had them.
The one thing I can confirm is booze noise is turned off. I don't eat much anyway so I went on Wegovy to help lose the last of my weight, reduce inflammation and not fall off the wagon over Christmas. I wasn't allowed Mounjaro.
I hadn't kept any records re my food since having the chemo drug Rituximab in April for my RA. I didn't put any weight on after the treatment but I hadn't lost any either. My hair thinned. I really hoped these drugs would help me.

Hi fubard 👋 welcome to the group! I don’t think we have many fellas on here so will be interesting to see if your experience on MJ is similar or varies. Hope you are having a good first week :)

Thanks! My wife is also on MJ although she is a few weeks ahead of me and about to jump to 5mg.

I have really felt hunger today but managed to willpower through it today and have consumed 1070 calories between breakfast and lunch today (I am religiously entering food into My Fitness Pal app).

I weighed in at 15st 10 this morning (99.8kg) so 4ish lb drop since Friday.

Hi @JasonTindallsTan, nice to see another bloke in here!

You sound very similar to me, 16ish stone CW and nausea after 1st Jab and similar loss after 5-6 days. Please keep posting as I'd be interested to see how we compare.

Gettingbysomehow · 20/11/2024 17:01

Just a warning. Side effects might not be.
I finally went to my GP because my mounjaro side effects were scaring me.
They did blood tests and I have really bad anaemia, ive had it on and off for years, absolutely nothing to do with mounjaro. They said more likely the years Ive spent dieting and starving.

ThisLuckyHam · 20/11/2024 17:30

Hi
I've not used Mumsnet before so not sure who is going to see this message. It's regarding Mounjaro which I am thinking of taking as I have put on 2 stone in 18 months. However, I genuinely do not have an eating problem. In fact I have bowel issues which has meant I eat very little throughout the day as I feel full. I exercise regularly too. I do like my red wine though and Dr convinced this is the issue.
My question to those who have done research is whether Mounjara would make a difference. I understand it is an appetite suppressant but this is not my issue. I do have poor blood sugar control, according to Zoe, but I am not diabetic.
Any advice so gratefully received.

evilharpy · 20/11/2024 17:52

My Fitness Pal is what led me to lose 6 stone pre-pandemic. The pandemic scuppered me for various reasons and when we came out the other side of lockdowns I'd reached the losing weight is even harder age, had an ostrich approach to the weight I'd regained and kind of gave up. Mounjaro's my kick start to get going because I know if I see changes working I am more likely to stick with it, but I've also reinstalled MFP and it's made a real difference to how I think about consumption again.

You cant buy mounjaro privately if you are a diabetic they will refuse to sell it to you. You'll only be able to get it through your GP after assessment. I doubt you'll get it if you are drinking alcohol.

Mrsredlipstick · 20/11/2024 18:18

Just a warning as I have been suffering rib pain that caused me to be bed ridden. A friend sent me a Google search which confirms it's a serious side effect. . I am stopping and have contacted VOY.

I am not diabetic but do drink wine most evenings. Does that mean Mounjaro won’t work?
