On the feeling poop note. Remember it's back to school week every one. Prepare now for all the snot and sickness bugs you're about to pick up so you don't feel absolutely run down or dehydrated. These next 2 to 3 weeks are probably gonna be rough but we can do this 💪

Morning,

Does anyone know how long Zava are taking to approve /look at orders? I ordered Sunday and it still says processing. I hadn't ordered for over 7 weeks so maybe they are going to query things. But not heard anything yet!

Thanks

Well done everyone. Seems everyone is at least losing inches which in my opinion is better than seeing it come off at the scales. Think of the fat coming off around your organs.....wonderful for your health.

Delighted to report that after a 2 weeks stall of remaining the same EVERY day, I'm 2lbs off. So that is 24lb in 14 weeks. I'm more than happy with that.
I know it'll seem slow to some but honestly, I'm satisfied. I've said before that I am trying hard to change my habits. I dont want to lose it all in 3 months and not have had the opportunity to let the new habits really bed in. At this rate, I'll be on it for at least another 5-6 months before I reach target and maintenance. Hopefully long enough for my mind/body to adjust to a new reset weight.

I'm with Voy, on my 3rd 10mg pen with them although I've never gone beyond 7.5mg. In fact this week, I've reduced back to 5mg.
I dont even know why I went up to 7.5mg as 5 was working really well for me. I was getting a bit hungry at times but was able to still control what I was eating with a slow steady weight loss averaging about 1.7lbs a week.
Quite honestly, the 2 weeks at 7.5 were not better for me so I've gone down and will see how that goes.
Anyway, the point about Voy was that they have just sent out a 10mg pen. Last time they asked me if I wanted to move up....I didn't. This time they haven't asked. I'm not bothered, just curious as to why they didnt ask? Hey ho.

I've managed to catch some sort of bug before school has even started. I feel dreadful today. I thought it was the increase to 7.5 as it started with my stomach but it has progressed to a temperature and sore throat. Bleurgh!

I weighed myself this morning and have lost a pound over night which is surprising as I usually retain water when I'm sick. I'll take any victory I can 😆

I heard back from MedExpress yesterday who says my order has encountered and "unforseen delay". Well thanks for clearing that up! Still waiting for them to dispatch it.

katinthehattt · 03/09/2024 08:48

@Btrsun10 I had a convo with Juniper about this as they were automatically sending me a 5mg pen after 1 month on 2.5mg. I had thought there would be some discussion about whether to move up or not, before they sent out the next pen. The prescriber said that they follow the protocol that Lilly recommend because the studies show that's the best way for continued weight loss. In the end I said ok, but I've only gone up to 3.75 so far as it's still effective for me.

MabelSpan · 03/09/2024 08:52

Thank you @Jimmyneutronsforehead @MamaBearH @JamieFrasersSassenach I shall go ahead and bring my 4th and bonus doses a day forward over the next two weeks to sync my weigh day and jab day and in preparation for the jump to my 5mg.

For those who love their carbs, I grow my own veg, including lots of potatoes so eat them most days. You can dramatically increase the amount of resistant starch, a type of fibre, in your potatoes, rice and pasta and bread simply by cooking then cooling, ideally overnight or freezing in the case of bread and then reheating or toasting in the case of bread. Sorry if this has already been said!

Carbs and cooking

Pasta, potatoes and rice... are all carbohydrates that cause a surge in blood glucose levels as they are broken down. For people with diabetes, these surges in glucose can be tricky to manage and cause problems over time. But what if simply changing th...

Morning! I went out with the family for a birthday meal last night. Had a chicken breast burger but not the bread and a small piece of cake. Only ate about half the chips. I had a comment from my mum about how good I looked having lost some weight. FINALLY 🤣 I can really see the difference in my face in the pics. Just as well because the scales still aren’t moving 😞 it’s flab jab day today and I’m not sure whether to go up to 6.25 or not. I’ve been on 5 for 8 weeks now so is it time to move up or do I carry on with 5 and see what happens?

This is how I feel.

I had my 7.5 dose early Sunday morning, was fine all of Sunday and yesterday and didn't actually feel much different to usual, then half way through last night I felt sick and hot and sweaty and my stomach was in knots.

It could be the increase in dose, but I'd be lying if I said it was less likely I'd picked it up from one of the many soft play places we've been to. I've just spent a week on a Haven site too with less than up to scratch facilities in terms of hygiene so on reflection I've probably also picked up a bug. I shudder when I think about how many people coughed on the 2 penny slots we spent hours at.

It was the first day back for my son today and he woke up with the sniffles too so I apologise to any one in his class, I've sent him in a vector for illness.

Dreading this. Have 4 young family members and my office is full of people with school aged kids, who will all come into the office sick no matter what

If it's been over 6 weeks and you've not seen the scales shift and your appetite has returned then I would increase the dose.

If you've still got hunger suppression, and you're not gaining weight you might want to see if there's anything different you can try first. Stalls do happen and then sometimes out of nowhere you just drop more weight but stalls are also a good time to reflect on what's working for you and what's working for others too that you might want to try.

My kids have been back at school for a week and they’ve all got a virus 🙄

Every year without fail my LO has ended up with HFMD since starting nursery. I don't know what it is thet makes him so susceptible to it.

I'm also a bit of a germophobe, and I think people should stay off school and work if they're sick.

This new fine system is going to have a lot to answer for with sicknesses increasing. It's the perfect business model. Threaten people with fines, they'll send their kids to school, more people will get sick and inevitably take time off, they'll get fined, then next time their kids are sick they'll send them into school and the cycle repeats.

Interesting. I also did mine on Sunday morning. But I was also away at Center Parcs last week so also around lots of kids!

QueenOfHiraeth · 03/09/2024 10:07

I was unwell last weekend too, no young children here but regular contact with grandchildren and my asthmatic old chest felt tight so I blamed a virus.

Am having a bit of panic now in case it was the MJ. I'd been complaining of urges to snack on my second lot of 7.5 and I have my 10 in the fridge ready to go so decided I would use some of the bonus dose with weeks 3 and 4 to increase to 8.75. I really hope it wasn't because even though it was just feeling grotty I am looking after grandbabies and an elderly frail relative this weekend. Debating whether it might be sensible to delay by a day or persevere.

Having said I was dreading weighing today, I surprisingly lost 2lb taking my total to 2st 3lb in 18 weeks which is great considering I am older and inactive so far.

MamaBearH · 03/09/2024 11:24

Sorry this cold is wiping me out. Did my morning weigh (I just have to) & have gained 1lb. I think it's either less water cause it hurts to swallow or every time I eat a carb I gain 1lb (no joke!). I had a gluten free thin yesterday with bacon. Last week I had 1 tiny potato. Week before it was 3 single chips. Each time I've gained 1lb the next day & felt unwell but when I avoid them I'm ok. So strange. I've lots of diagnosed allergies so have to eat gluten and dairy free which I do 100% of the time.

SnacklessWonder · 03/09/2024 12:06

My weight...

Sunday 10st 12.4lb
Monday 10st 11.8lb
Tuesday 10st 10lb

Fully expecting to bounce up a bit - will see what happens rest of the week!

NippyCrab · 03/09/2024 13:15

I've just had a call from my DH saying he's concerned because one of his colleagues has mentioned he can get MJ cheap from one of the boys. I'm saying NO! NO! don't not do this! I've said to DH just tell him I am on MJ it's fine and tell him to call me. Apparently they were thinking they were too expensive, and this dodgy chap can get them for £100! Ffs what's another 30 or 40 quid for the sake of your health and the support from a reputable pharmacy. Wtaf! Xx

I've had this argument today as someone I know told me her aesthetic clinic sells them to her. She argued the girls a nurse but am I right in thinking it still needs to be prescribed properly. That's like a Dr being done for handed on stuff on the side.

SilenceInside · 03/09/2024 15:40

@MamaBearH you're quite right. Any prescription should be overseen by a doctor and prescribed by a registered pharmacy or equivalent. Not a beauty therapist. I bet it's vials of unknown liquid too and not even a proper injection pen.

I bet the person selling it is not a Registered Nurse either.

FarriersGirl · 03/09/2024 15:51

@MamaBearH Whilst it is possible for a registered nurse to be a prescriber the whole system is tightly controlled by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Royal Pharmaceutical Society. All nurses will have the fact they are a registered precriber recorded on their professional record and this is easily checked on the NMC website. The medication still has to be dispensed by a [licenced and registered] pharmacist.

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 03/09/2024 16:12

Sorry for yet another MedExpress post. They have finally sent mine but given me tracking info for someone else. I can see this person's name and address on it!! Massive privacy breach. I've let them know and I am not impressed.
