Place marking as can't wait

Choux · 18/08/2024 08:32

Ok I'll get my post in early too.

I was on holiday earlier this month - it was all inclusive really good food options. Despite feeling like I was quite restrained compared to the non Mounjaro me. I came back 7lbs heavier than when I left. Some of this was prob carb and salt related water gain. After 10 days on my usual food back home I have lost the 7lbs. Feeling pretty pleased at not undoing the good work from the last few months.

According to my app I will now hit my goal weight in mid December. It was mid November before my holiday created a three week stall. I am now going to get really focussed on losing and see if I can get hit goal by November 30th.

Hi all, complete Newbie here. I've been following the threads and ordered with Zava 8pm Thursday. Approved and dispatched Friday and eagerly awaiting delivery today!

I have read through many many pages on here. I have a question I haven't found an answer to - do people tend to have any preference for what time of day they inject? Does it have any effect in terms of side effects?

I'm wondering whether to inject when I get it today, which will be later in the day, but then I would have eaten all day. Or do I wait till tomorrow morning? It's more any side effects I'd be worried about and when they might be likely to hit. Any advice welcome. Thanks 😊

Fromthesidelines · 18/08/2024 09:57

@HelloHello321 I've always injected at bed time on a Sunday evening. My initial reasoning was that I might sleep off any initial side effects. As it happens, so far I've had very few side effects (some fatigue, feeling cold) and am 12 weeks in. I've never changed it though so can't say whether there would be any difference. Ate normally the first Sunday before injecting but didn't have any alcohol, which I would suspect might not mix well.

Good luck on your journey.

Tireduk · 18/08/2024 10:02

For all the people struggling with constipation and possible stalling, feeling bloated… Water doesn’t work for me personally, I have tried the following and use a bit of a mixture but limited, however everyone has to test out what works the best for you individually and take it easy:

psyllium husks - solgar are good or H&B also sell. Take daily tablets to ‘soften’.
senna tablets - again try 2 pd, they work well for some people.

Dulcolax in tablets or sachets

dulcolax pico liquid- overnight relief , works strongly for some so test out 1 tsp to start then increase if needed. I needed more but it worked!

I saw a recent message stating Milk of Magnesium works and this might be a lot more natural. I haven’t tried this, although I’m going to. The interesting thing that I’ve noted is that I tend to go weekly rather than most days and the hot weather doesn’t help with the sense of bloating! It’s different to my previous habits, although it’s adjusting and finding something that helps, works with my new eating, high protein. However they all say don’t take these medications long term, so personally that’s why I mix and match a little and I’m trying to do more exercise…

Good luck for anyone struggling in this area as I know it’s very frustrating… hope this helps a little.

Lowest weight recorded this morning which is strange as we went for drinks yesterday 🙌
14.8 lbs down now.
Thrilled to report no hangover after alcohol. I’m not a frequent drinker so was wondering how I’d be after seeing others report back!

GlitteringUnicorn · 18/08/2024 12:15

I started 4 weeks ago today

Stating weight 98.2kg (15st6lb)
Weight today 91.7kg (14st6lb)

Can't quite believe it essentially I just don't particularly fancy food anymore. I often force myself to have meals (never skip but the portions are small and have mainly protein and fruit and veg) and up my calories when I need to with Babybels and hard boiled eggs
My BMI is now 29

StrawberriesandMango · 18/08/2024 13:18

I had been on MJ for 3 months and lost 21lbs. My last injection was 10 days ago as I can't afford another injection until payday. So I'm going solo for around 21 days. Confused

  • Yes I'm hungry a lot and not feeling full however I'm sticking to my 1400 calories so far which is what I was eating on MJ.
  • I haven't resorted to the late night snacking pre MJ so that habit is sticking so far.
  • I'm continuing to be active
  • I'm not craving bad food as of yet and said no to a takeaway last night.

My weight loss has remained the same which I'm thankful for so far. I was having major side effects going up to 5mg so will go back to 2.5mg. Feeling full of energy which is nice after MJ always making me tired.

Melty · 18/08/2024 13:20

SW: 19st 10
W7: 17st 10

Down another 3 lbs today.
BMI 36.8 down from 41
That makes a total of 2 stone, and 10% body weight gone.
Lots of clothes too big. (Tops)
Still a long way to go but v chuffed.

I picked up my first prescription of HRT this morning.
Did anyone start HRT during MJ and did it have any effect, positive or negative ?

ItsAlrightDarling · 18/08/2024 14:17

I use a syringe too, I tried the hard twist with my first pen and cracked the pen.

Alwayshockey · 18/08/2024 17:43

My 3 week weigh in today and I've lost 11lb in total over the 3 weeks. That's one-eighth of what I need to lose so a decent start. My next pen is being sent out Tuesday but I hope to be using the bonus dose from my current pen next weekend. I've bought syringes and needles to cover all bases but I intend to use the syringe so I know exactly how much of a dose I'm getting. I'm hoping it will be a bridging amount between 2.5 and 5 but we'll see.

Darlinghag · 18/08/2024 17:47

I received my first pen yesterday- bit nervous about the physical act of injecting - mainly messing it up!! I have been looking on youtube - anyone have any tips? really dont want to mess up the pen.

also a bit worried about nausea as a side effect - i think i can tolerate the other potential symptoms, so i am injecting this evening.

TimeIretired · 18/08/2024 17:51

@darlinghag. Really no need to worry. The needle itself is so short it really is a ‘jab’ and then depress the plunger. Hold it there for 20-30 seconds tops and you’re done. You’ll wonder what all the fuss was about - honest.

even the needles on the diabetic pens that some of use use to extract the 5th dose aren’t much longer but by the time you need that you’ll be an old hand. Good luck on your journey.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 18/08/2024 18:24

Checking into the new thread to say I've been away for the weekend and I'm hoping to have maintained my loss. 🤞🏻

Didn't calorie count and meals were far more bread based than normal - so much so that I'm looking forwards to tomorrow's 'reset' and getting rid of some of this bloat!

72 pounds down, 8 pounds to go!

Gazelda · 18/08/2024 18:24

@Darlinghag I've found the booklet you get with your pen to be very helpful. Follow it step by step and you can't go wrong.

The needle itself is incredibly fine, so doesn't hurt in the slightest.

I've found nausea to only be a problem if I over eat or drink too much in one go.

Small meals avoiding carbs and just passively sipping water through the day has been the way for me.

I do still like spicy foods which I know can cause upset in some, but I've been OK.

Even if you do get nausea at first I think every one on here that I've encountered so far with nausea has said its subsided after a few days.

As the few pounds I've put on whilst in hospital make me overweight again, I'm considering Oushk due to the maintenance plans whilst I can still move.

If anyone has a current discount code, would they be kind enough to send it me?

Thank you. 💐

Have sent you the codes by pm 😀

WitchyBits · 18/08/2024 19:57

I had a brilliant first week and took my second injection on Thursday night/Friday morning and honestly it doesn't feel like it's done anything at all. I feel anxiety and totally normal and have been struggling to not hoover up every snack I've seen. Really hoping the increase to 5mg works better.

NNSingers · 18/08/2024 20:39

@KrankyKumquat would you be so kind as to send me the Oushk codes too? I am hoping to be able to subscribe with them and stick from now on ☺️x

NippyCrab · 18/08/2024 20:45

@KrankyKumquat please could you send me the codes for Oushk too? I'm ordering with them tomorrow. 🥰

HelloHello321 · 18/08/2024 20:50

Hi all. So my first delivery today has been a disaster. I've been out at a family event and it's been delivered to my neighbour, who now isn't in. The real kick in the teeth is looking back at my doorbell and it was delivered 10 mins after I went out for the day!

Anyone know how long the ice packs stay cold for? It was dispatched Friday and I won't be getting it till tomorrow (Monday) morning by the looks of it as it's sitting in my neighbours house

KrankyKumquat · 18/08/2024 20:57

@NippyCrab @NNSingers
Pm you both x

Couldn't edit to add update, thankfully neighbour brought it round and had stored it in the fridge for me! First ever jab done. I feel weirdly excited!
