No shift in weight today. AHHH

I figured that if I think light thoughts and eat only the dust that gathers on the work surfaces and I turn my water to steam before I inhale it I might break into the 102kg barrier in 3-10 business weeks.

@Jimmyneutronsforehead although I feel your pain I’m hooting laughing as well, I love the detailed nature of your strategic plan!

Swiftlygoesit · 18/08/2024 16:07

Also wanted to add my thanks to @ObsidianTree for coordinating posts and to everyone else who keeps the threads going. It definitely helped inform my decision and it keeps me going.

I noticed the lack of water retention in my legs and ankles when flying and on holiday recently. It was great to be able to fit into my shoes at the end of a flight!

I’m currently hovering just over 70kg and having struggled to get anywhere near 70-something until MJ, I now can’t believe I’m going to cross into the 60-something territory soon!

NewLifter · 18/08/2024 17:33

I agree that moving into the next stone is super exciting! I hope to do so too very soon and it adds another level of motivation for sure!

Quick question with regard to the bonus dose - would anyone recommend drawing the liquid out with an insulin needle over the twist really hard method?

I'm due to take jab 4 this week and I'm thinking of taking it a day early and then doing the bonus jab after 6 days, then starting on 5mg at 7 day intervals again.

I am overthinking the hard twist and trying to decide which way to approach it?

I went for the syringe method as I didn't want to risk breaking the pen and losing the dose. I also wanted to use the entire amount to help bridge the gap from 2.5mg to 5mg - which I'm glad of as I had nasty side effects so I'm still not on 5mg three jabs later!

3wDavid · 18/08/2024 18:02

I will be going on holiday at the end of the month and will have to take my pen with me. It works out perfectly because it will be the 5th dose, so I will just bring it, do it and discard. But because it’s the 5th dose, I also bought the insulin syringes in case the hard twist doesn’t work. Can someone remind me, what ml is a full dose? I want to take exactly what I’m currently on (5mg) and don’t want to risk any side effects while away by injecting more. Is that 0.6 ml?

Yes, 0.6ml per dose - it should also say it on the front of your box I think - 2.4ml for 4 doses.

Not the pens but the needles, you should be sent one with your first order

Mumof1andacat · 18/08/2024 19:57

Thank you. I have ordered from medexpress. Just waiting for it to be prescribed.

SnacklessWonder · 18/08/2024 20:03

@Mumof1andacat I ordered from MedExpress and they send you the sharps bin.

Melty · 18/08/2024 20:08

Bit of a Frustrating NSV.
I tried on a pair of white NYDJ jeans thst were in the can't get into box. Size 18W. (American-which is about a size 20 curvy) I can get into them now. Fit on tummy ok, apart from the fact that I still have a tummy. but they are too big and silly looking on my thighs and bum.
Thank you weird hormonal fat distribution combined with MJ strange fat loss pattern.
It appears that swimming is having a positive effect on my legs.

Hi, yes,you will. Some providers send a bin so it’s worth asking before you get one elsewhere. I got mine free from Boots and they take it back when it’s full, but that seems to depend on where you live; there’s been quite a lot of debate on these threads about how to dispose of the bin itself!

Oh PS Boots didn’t supply me with the Mounjaro, I just went into my local branch and asked for a bin at the pharmacy counter. They put my details on a list so it would appear that they count them out and count them back in!

Hello! I bought mine from Amazon but I later heard that's a no-no due to poor quality! I believe it's best to buy from a proper online chemist!

Argh frustrating yet good at the same time!!

I'm finding my pattern of weightloss the same as previous efforts - I lose of my upper body and tummy first then hips bum and legs last! I'm seeing that again now!

Yes definitely 0.6 or 60 units on an insulin syringe. Sounds like a good plan, works out so well that it's the last dose! Mine wasn't, I took dose 2&3 on holiday, 3.75 from a 5mg pen. Had I been able to keep it keep refrigerated like I usually do, I might have considered pushing it to a 6th dose given there's going to be loads left, but I'm definitely not risking it!!!

GoodLuckBabe · 18/08/2024 22:38

With the insulin syringe, do you have to prime it like with the pen? And then jab and plunge? For some reason it sounds a lot more scary than the pen, but I think I will try for the bonus dose.

You draw up the medication and then push the plunger in until the medication moves right to the tip of the needle, a drop will come out. If you want to stick with 0.6 then just push the excess out.

NewLifter · 18/08/2024 22:41

The prospect is scary, but I promise it's actually wee buns!
