So I took a senna last night and no joy as yet, I have had loose stools or diarrhea 48 hours after the injection the last few weeks (which is now) so it was a big decision whether to take the senna, but I'm desperate 🙈

Drank over 3L of water yesterday plus some squash and tea. Surely it has to come 😂

DreamingofGinoclock · 17/08/2024 07:46

Does anyone else find they no longer enjoy really sweet stuff? ...out for a walk and decide to get a mocha as I haven't had one since starting MJ and used to really enjoy...well I had to throw it out after two mouthfuls as it was far too sweet

ohhollyfred · 17/08/2024 08:27

Morning - does anyone know if med express
Lets you skip a month or do you have to start again if you do?

imnottoofussed · 17/08/2024 08:39

I know they ask I've you've taken any weight loss jabs in the last 4 weeks. Not sure what happens if you say no.

ObsidianTree · 17/08/2024 09:02

That's interesting about oshuck. I did read it and thought I would just switch to them now. I am currently with Zava but they don't support maintenance so I do need to move before I get to BMI 25. I guess I was hoping Zava would change their mind on maintenance. I will give it a bit longer and see if they change their stance once everyone starts to leave them! I have 13lbs to go but seeing as the last few weeks I have been stalling on and off.... I might have months and months before I get to BMI 25!

@ohhollyfred
It takes about 30 days for Mounjaro to leave your system so I presume you would have to start again.

I've noticed when I eat ultra processed foods I notice that they all leave a horrible after taste - I had a cupcake yesterday at work and it was disgusting, it left such a weird film in my mouth. Same with a packet of crisps, it just tasted wrong

imnottoofussed · 17/08/2024 09:12

I think I saw someone else mention this but since moving up to 7.5 I can't brush my teeth without gagging. Anyone else having the same and found a solution?

Wingingit11 · 17/08/2024 09:15

@DreamingofGinoclock I used to be a massive Pepsi fan and now it tastes not great to me !

I think @DreamingofGinoclock that when stop eating very sweet things for any length of time our taste buds reset. I now find fruit to be delightfully sweet and milk chocolate to be cloying. And any break from UFP allows your body and brain to work out maybe it’s not what it wants.

guestusername · 17/08/2024 09:40

Morning! After a few days of not really being able to eat much, yesterday was a much better day. Of course, it didn’t help that the start of the week was so stressful. Pre MJ I’d have eaten to stay awake!

WI this week is 2lbs off

SW 14.12
CW 12.7
Next target 12.5 to get me to 2.5 stone off
GW 11.7 to bring me to healthy BMI

Still not sure what I want my end goal weight to be. I should start thinking about that really. I’m thinking I’d like to see my weight start with a 10 as it has been many, many years since that happened but I am going to see how I feel at healthy BMI and go from there

Fromthesidelines · 17/08/2024 09:45

Still in a stall. Upped the exercise this week but half a pound up on last week. Funnily enough, two people commented on my weight loss yesterday even though I haven't lost any weight since I last saw them. Measurements haven't really changed either but perhaps 3 months without UPFs and white carbs and very little alcohol just make me look better in general.

Are you taking psyllium daily (with lots of water)? As ideally that should stabilise you, avoiding the extremes of diarrhoea or constipation.

Right now, you could try a glycerine suppository to move things.

NewLifter · 17/08/2024 10:36

Can anyone already with Oushk describe what their packaging is like?

I just received a delivery from Zava with their new packaging and it actually was much worse for me, the ice pack has always been completely thawed but the pens were still cold - this time the pen wasn't cold. I'm a bit disappointed as I assumed the new packaging would be better. It takes a bit longer to get to me as I'm not in England, it was dispatched on Thurs evening. The pen will be fine and I've put it straight into the fridge - thankfully our post always comes first thing in the morning so at least it doesn't sit in a van for hours!

WorriedRelative · 17/08/2024 10:38

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 14:09

Yeah they're not supposed to advertise or offer discount codes!

I would advise avoiding companies who ignore guidance/regulations on advertising prescription medicine. Don't encourage unethical/illegal/exploitative behaviour.

It is highly likely that their ethics permeate the whole business.

This kicked in for me after a few weeks, suddenly my sugar free orange squash tasted unbearably sweet. Haven't had one biscuit or chocolate bar (apart from chocolate in my protein bars but I eat those for an easy protein boost, not for cravings), which is bizarre. I've always had chocolate biscuits for bars every single day, even when doing WW etc in the past. I've some in my wardrobe (we've always kept a supply hidden from the kids 😂) but they've not been touched.

I really want to know more about this - is it because insulin resistance made us crave sweet things before or what? I can't figure it out but would love to know how MJ stops cravings. I suppose it can't be just that as it clearly reduces other cravings too eg alcohol.

I’m in the same situation with Zava and their previous ‘standard’ response to maintenance - support until you reach a healthy BMI. That’s far too vague for me!

I messaged Zava earlier this morning with the following:

“Hi
I’ve been ordering from you for some time now and I’d like more specific information regarding your maintenance plan, as I understand that you will only prescribe Mounjaro until I reach a healthy BMI.
There are now 2 UK pharmacies, Med Express and Oushk, who have devised a much more supportive approach to maintenance for their customers.
I’ve attached Oushk’s 3 different plans below and am seriously considering moving to them before I reach a BMI of 25.
Many other people on the same Mounjaro forum I’m on are also considering leaving Zava and switching to Oushk.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts, thank you.”

Should I receive a more detailed response then I’ll let you all know 🤞

@Slimstar13 totally agree. I had a tickle at the back of my mind that there had been a flurry of question marks over Oushk but couldn’t remember why. Of course it was Curate! (Which I have always pronounced in my head as the church person and have just clicked on it’s the verb 😂). We have seen these companies sprinting to keep up with each other right from the start and I’m sure maintenance treatments will be no different. They have many months to curate (!) something before it’s relevant to me, though I have managed to chisel off another pound this morning, making it a breathtaking nine pounds loss in eight weeks of Mj…an improvement on my usual pound a week ratio!

Yeh I feel the same but I don't think Zava will ever offer a personalised service like Oushk do. That being said, if business picks up for Oushk, they won't be able to maintain it.

Eg Oushk said you can move to a maintenance plan at your chosen BMI, it doesn't have to be under 25, meaning that you can benefit from the discount - I doubt big companies will offer that personal approach. I plan on stopping at BMI 26-27 as I know from the past that that's a healthy and sustainable weight for me. I've spoken before about the pressure from WW to drop to BMI 24 or below in order to benefit from free classes etc and it was terrible for me - my periods stopped, I was starving myself literally to try and maintain, taking water tablets and laxatives before class as I was terrified of being shamed in front of everyone that I had gained after a big fuss was made when I got to goal.

It also crossed my mind that Oushk are very new, what if they go out of business but then nowhere else let's us switch to them during maintenance.

Yes...... I'm a serial over thinker 😂😂😂

I think I will see what happens over the next few weeks, then make a decision. I don't want to be bouncing around suppliers chasing discounts, hence me staying with Zava thus far. But again that's appealing with Oushk, I can use my blue light discount for now then benefit from the subscriber discounts.

I tried this a few times but only get generic replies back. I think it picks up the word maintenance and sends a auto response reply!

Hopefully they actually read yours and a human responds!

I think I'm starting to consider oshik more now. Will move over before I get to BMI 25. But in mean time will just stay with Zava until that point! I have a similar to blue light card so might ask if they accept that too.

Also, thanks for the confirmation on 15mg expiry date. I will try not to order another 15mg pen until Nov!

You make some good points @Newlifter. Hopefully the Oushk model, or something like, will be followed by other companies pretty soon. It's only a month ago that we had next to no idea about how we would do maintenance (we were talking about stockpiling, spreading doses, even lying about not being at bmi 25) so change is happening very quickly - the dropping of the 2 year limit is the most significant development in my mind, the other details about one company's offer are less important as other prescribers are sure to catch up and offer same or variations. At least we've got some choice now.
Re Oushk's long term viability. I think they're being pretty cautious and responsible (eg limited discounts compared to many others, encouraging loyalty, focus on excellent personalised customer service, not going mad on advertising, limiting new patients to over bmi 25). I think their approach is probably more sustainable than pyramid selling schemes, huge new customer discounts, reliance on TT influencers, etc. Hope so anyway!

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 17/08/2024 11:30

Just checking in today. Back down to 103.80kg. The fermented prune juice (accidental prune wine?) Has helped but feeling a bit despondent that I'm yo-yoing with this 1kg weight.

If I can get into the 102kg bracket within the next week even if it's 102.99 I will feel like I've accomplished a loss.

Ordered some quick and easy protein snacks with this week's food shop and they've all almost been substituted for really bizarre things so going to have to make a trip to a shop or get really acquainted with hard boiled eggs 😂
