Storms a coming!

Lightening map shows a huge storm in the south west heading central England. Is anyone experiencing it? Please send it up to me 😁

We are having an epic thunderstorm now in South Essex, it’s been going for nearly an hour - rain so hard it’s setting off car alarms - how husband and child are sleeping still I’ve no idea. Smells amazing though!

I'm on the London/Kent border, and the storm woke me up at about 3.20. Loads of lightning, thunder was really loud, and torrential rain. I could still see flashes of lighting at about 5.30. It's all stopped now.

Still raining in West London, keeping the windows & back door open to enjoy the freshness.

Loud rumbling and dark clouds in the South East Midlands at the moment but only a bit of rain. Some epic storm clouds though.

Sadly not very fresh around here despite the storm.

Very humid here now and the sun is out. The heat is on its way!

Temperatures looking slightly better - it’ll now get up to 35 max rather than 37 according to the BBC.

Sigh.

0400 this morning an amazing electrical storm that lasted for nearly an hour

I can hear some rumblings of thunder - and although the sun is out, there's some cloud

I'd forgotten that! My parents used to say it too.

So did my mother. I told my children the same thing. I still say it now I wonder if they do?

35, 37 - still stiflingly hot!

I managed to sleep through it in Essex. Only evidence for me was that the garden was absolutely soaked this morning. It’s warm today, but a nice coastal breeze so it’s not feeling too bad.

The thrips/thunder bugs are out in full force though. I hate the little things, constantly flicking them off me and the outdoor sofa etc.

Sunny but a bit hazy here. Supposed to be 31 here today. Am not going out, so don't know what it's like out there. 24deg in my living room but feels quite cool.

I’ve just been reorganising the covers around my chicken run… making sure that there is shade and shelter as the sun moves round, and taking my seedlings out of the direct sun. It’s hot…

Late to the party but yes I had 4.30am storm wake up. Spoke to my mum by phone and she said it was the worst she’s seen. My poor cat who’s scared of storms was hiding under the sofa.

You have my sympathy, little bastards get everywhere!

Storms forecast for us in the SW this evening. Bath escapes this one.

Lightning Maps has a huge storm sitting over the channel for the last hour, slow moving but lit up like a Christmas tree at times. If this is your storm it looks like a lively evening in store!

I just dropped onto a few webcams, there is one at Fowey which is showing frequent lightning at sea

There’s a fresh breeze picking up in Dorset, it was still 35° at 19:00 but there’s a definite cooling.
