Snow watch.

While for many it is milder today, it will become colder again tomorrow. The main snow risk starts on Thursday where both GFS and ECM show a risk of snow in the south into the midlands and Wales, away from south eastern coastal counties. They both model a low moving in from the Azores, bumping into cold air.

GFS takes this right into northern England and parts of Scotland.

As always, early days and so there is lots of uncertainty. We await the next model run

Drove across mid Wales this evening. It was snowing over the mountains, but not settling.

No snow sadly in South Manchester. Just very cold, misty and a frost. Still, it's much better than rain!!

We have snow! And it's still falling, the ground was wet when I went to bed last night so I wasn't expecting that ❄️❄️❄️

Had to de-ice the car this morning for the first time this season. Definitely chilly in Leicester but forecast shows no precipitation so cold and clear by the looks of it.

Snow warning for tomorrow Plymouth and Dartmoor.
I'm south of Dartmoor on the coast so not expecting to get any. Heavy rain here

I've relented and put the heating on just now as 13 in my living room and yes the bloody thing can stay on all day.

Tomorrow will be colder so I'm trying to get the house warmed up.

We had about 20 seconds of snow an hour ago. Now bright sunshine with a beautiful blue sky but very chilly. 10.2 degrees in the unheated bedrooms, 15 degrees in the kitchen with the Aga ❄️ 🥶

Snow down the eastern side and into parts of the SW. It is possible that the snow shown across the Sw may extend eastwards across other parts of southern England.

It's all most likely over higher ground though, low ground could see a wintry mix. Where skies clear overnight after snow or rain fall, expect ice.

Hah! Even before I clicked on Kitten's link I was very certain it’s too cold to snow where I am, and I was right. Frost remained on the ground where the sun wasn't directly on it and the bird baths only stayed unfrozen for two hours. No idea where the foxes, birds and local cats will all drink, poor things Thank goodness the hedgehog has hibernated considering how thirsty they get.

Car was frozen inside and out this morning. Frozen again at5.30 pm. When I had to collect grandchildren 😱

Am in SE hoping to see the white stuff this year ! Last year we had a massive dump on the worst day for me . I missed my sons graduation the following day 😣

We had snow about just over an hour ago but unfortunately all the snow which had laid - just a dusting - has turned to nought. But more is forecast for tonight, so we'll see how that goes.

No snow last time I looked. The council moved the lamppost so I can no longer weather watch with it as now it's behind a building. Just got a security light pointing right in the windows instead. Bloody cold though.

Our forecast for north west is that we will have “winters showers” at the weekend. Is is too early to say whether this will give any snow on the ground?

We’ve had workmen inside and outside all day today and they’ve had front and back doors open. It’s been perishing!
Back garden has been frozen all day. Put extra food out for the birds to help keep them warm. Their water froze over even though I’ve been replacing it throughout the day.

Snow started falling last night at 11. It’s settled and we have a snowy street today with a layer of snow. It looks so nice at the moment 😁West Yorkshire.

We have a light covering this morning, which is much nicer to wake up to than yesterday's frost. ❄️

0C here (Leicester) and we've had a very slight (i.e. barely noticeable) covering of snow! The temperature's risen ~ it was -4C at 1.30am, as I found out when FosterDog needed a visit to the garden at that time this morning!

The main area for snow today will be over Dartmoor I think. Snow showers moving in from the east coast into the NE and perhaps the Pennines.
A possibility of some rain and snow showers more widely spread across the south, but where snow falls it's generally unlikely to settle.

No snow but plenty of frost and ice. DS came off his motorbike on a patch last night so take care out there. With most local authorities facing budget cuts the gritting seems to be more light touch on some roads.
