East coast here. 42mph gusts recorded at the minute. It's predicting 62 mph gusts. Half hour bike ride to work at 5am. It'll be a quick one!

How did it go?

I'm debating going out for a walk here as I usually do before work. Probably a daft idea when I don't need to really.

last night was awful.

neighbours lost another cat litter box. it went through a neighbour's roof lantern 3 doors down.

dc will walk to school today - some roads are closed still due to debris and public transport disrupted until lunchtime.

I feel your pain Listenlinda. A sudden damp patch appeared in the top corner of our sitting room last night 😔

It's awful here at the moment. Take care if your going off to school/work, it looks like now is the worst time though, it will calm down a bit.

I'm driving my dd, pavement is blocked with a fallen tree which means loads of secondary kids trying to cross a busy road, will be chaos, I'm taking her around the back roads .

I wouldn't be walking in this weather; the risk of flying debris is too great, IMO.

I'm also keeping the dog in again, he's a nervous soul and each walk since Friday we've basically just stood still for long periods while he's assessed the situation! Maybe after lunch we'll try an outing if it dies down- but forecast doesn't look like it will!

I'm out on my walk now, West Midlands. But gusty but it seems okay 🤞 quite a few dog walkers around.

I've just hung some washing out (down the side return, not in the exposed section of the garden!) and the sound of the wind, combined with fence panels rattling and straining, is something else.
