OhYouBadBadKitten Eunice. They are very exposed on the west side of their property. But I think the greenhouse damage was this afternoon. It's been gusty all day. She thinks there are odd roof tiles gone in other spots but can't really check safely.

Furries · 20/02/2022 19:44

@OhYouBadBadKitten

Also coming into Orpington now
Is there a good site for tracking this?
nannynick · 20/02/2022 20:14

Second squall took some trees out on the A30 in Sunningdale area of Berkshire, according to my local Facebook group - a local tree surgeon is onsite.

Waze app is showing various hazards being reported, so I guess more trees are impeding traffic flows on various roads. If anyone is driving around tonight, be very careful.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/02/2022 20:14

The squall line is through now.
For future reference www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar

Some very gusty stuff behind it though.

Your poor sister Heman I really feel for her,

Three apps predicting up to 70mph gusts for my bike ride to work tomorrow at 5am. I'm taking a brolly- if you see Mary Poppins going over it's me!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/02/2022 20:38

Might be the fastest cycle of your life if the wind is behind you, @Rowgtfc72!

Rowgtfc72 · 20/02/2022 20:42

It may well be! I'll have strava readyGrin

timetochangeusername · 20/02/2022 20:48

I'm in Surrey and it's felt a lot worse this evening than on Friday . Dog went out for wees in midst of it Friday - he's been trying to go out this evening but running straight back in! Still bad now but was worse an hour ago.

Your poor sister Heman I really feel for her,

She's one of these nutters who enjoys house renovations so she's pretty stoic about the house. But her greenhouse is just lovely. She inherited it from the previous owner and it's more like an old fashioned glasshouse with a walled kitchen garden which is her pride and joy Sad.
timetochangeusername · 20/02/2022 21:02

Is it due to get worse ? My weather app is looking bad from 10?

HesterShaw1 · 20/02/2022 21:06

I'm supposed to be painting outside tomorrow.

I might not.

ListenLinda · 20/02/2022 21:15

I really hope it doesn’t get worse Sad I can’t go outside to see what’s causing this Sad

Incredible weather in NW Essex - rain coming under the doors and wind roaring down the chimney. Much more dramatic than anything we saw on Friday!

Doghairismyglitter · 20/02/2022 22:00

It seems far worse here in Cornwall now than it did on Friday. Sounds ferocious outside. Bit concerned about having to walk the DC’s to nursery/holiday club in the morning when we go through wooded paths.
Guessing my roof is damaged also as suddenly have big damp patches that have appeared on bedroom ceiling 🙁

Seems much more constant. We've just had some bad damage at work 😥
DrHildegardeLanstrom · 20/02/2022 22:35

Fence panels out again - luckily checked before I let the dog into the garden!

Is that an upstairs or downstairs window?
BlackeyedSusan · 21/02/2022 01:00

@Motorina

not over cautious no.

like seat belts, most of the journeys, we didn't need to use them, but we can not predict which journey we will need it to save our life or our face from the steering wheel.

It's like that with storms/ trees. most of the trees people go under are fine, but the consequences when one does drop are catastrophic of often life ending/changing.

one taxi driver had a lucky escape in a local town when a tree came down on his cab. other people have died this weekend hit by debris.

Rowgtfc72 · 21/02/2022 04:31

East coast here. 42mph gusts recorded at the minute. It's predicting 62 mph gusts.
Half hour bike ride to work at 5am. It'll be a quick one!

ListenLinda · 21/02/2022 05:09

@Blossom987 on the middle floor landing. There is an attic bedroom above that I can see any water patches in.

ListenLinda · 21/02/2022 05:11

I can’t see any water patches in* sorry. I wish MN had an edit button. The rain was absolutely relentless here in West Yorks yesterday afternoon. The wind sounds much much worse, it’s woken two of us up.

diege · 21/02/2022 05:28

Warrington here! 62mph according to BBC weather, have been awake since 1am.
Daft question- daughter has paper round at 7am on bike - there's no way she can go in these winds is there?!

ListenLinda · 21/02/2022 05:32

@diege I wouldn’t let her go if it’s still like this.
