It's back!

BestIsWest · 20/02/2022 15:41

It’s awful here (Swansea). Just had to nip out to drop off a birthday card and present and nearly lost my glasses in the wind.

RagzRebooted · 20/02/2022 15:43

Our power has just gone out again! We got it back at 8:30pm yesterday. I was just about to start dinner, we'd only been home 10 minutes but thankfully long enough to have put the heating on and it's not as cold as it was. I've got laundry stuck in the machine and the tumble dryer, but had managed 2 loads already so we have clothes for work and school tomorrow (DS1 May not have a shirt, the whites are still in the machine).

Luckily dinner is bolognese so I've been able to swap back to the camping cooker, which we kept to hand.

purplesequins · 20/02/2022 16:39

we just received a storm warning for tonight.
gusts of wind 'only' expected up 100kmh.
but due to the damage from friday trees are weakened.

stay safe

LIZS · 20/02/2022 17:25

Wet and windy again in SE. Some properties still have no power.

ancientgran · 20/02/2022 17:39

It's awful here, south devon. I think it is worse than Friday was. I've just been out in the garden trying to pin things down that are blowing about. The shed is wrecked, it was blown off the patio and was upside down in the garden on Friday. Blown over again today and it is all out of shape, sort of twisted and door won't shut properly The rain is really heavy and I think the guttering is damaged as water is pouring everywhere.

I do live in a very windy spot, top of a tall hill with fields at the back that slope down to a river so the wind hits us full force. If I went 2 miles into town, where it is lower, it probably wouldn't seem bad but they they run the risk of flooding at high tide.

I've had enough of it now.

TimBoothseyes · 20/02/2022 17:44

It's gone crazy here in Somerset. Navigating the lanes to work at 5.30am tomorrow is going to be fun [shocked]

TimBoothseyes · 20/02/2022 17:44

emoji fail Shock

Hurricane style horizontal torrential rain here in N London

DrHildegardeLanstrom · 20/02/2022 18:39

I assume this is the squall line @OhYouBadBadKitten

Polly99 · 20/02/2022 18:41

We've been without power since Friday, as have lots of elderly neighbours. It's windy again so while the info we have is that power will be restored tomorrow I am unconvinced.
We are ok- we have an oil Aga, candles, hot water bottles and a large battery pack that we can use to charge phones as and when, plus friends relatively close by we can go to if it gets dire. But nonetheless we are getting fed up!

It is bloody awful and lights and WiFi are on the blink.
justasking111 · 20/02/2022 18:50

Going to be a bad night they're warning now. Well today the weather was worse than Eunice . It's a doozy weather system

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/02/2022 19:27

It was a squall line. There are two now, the back one being a more focused line. I'm not quite sure of timings. Need my laptop!

Yikes. It's very windy here. There is a leylandii in the lane next to our driveway. No one knows who planted it, it's enormous and has never been trimmed as far as I know (not in the 20+ years we've been here). And part of it is sitting at a very jaunty angle Confused.

My poor sister is having issues. Part of their roof has blown off, lost roof leading, a set of windows have blown in, fallen trees and her beautiful greenhouse is wrecked Sad.

Millionairenow · 20/02/2022 19:31

That squall was something else!

justasking111 · 20/02/2022 19:31

Well downloaded an Amazon prime series on tablet. Matches, torches still out. Kindle recharged.

Tonsiltrouble · 20/02/2022 19:32

South Hampshire - way worse tonight than on Friday at the moment.

Furries · 20/02/2022 19:32

It was nuts! Not liking the fact that a second one has been mentioned 😲

Human is that from today's squall or from Eunice?

It has really ramped up here in South East London (Greenwich borough). Gales sound longer and gustier than Friday, which is alarming. Rain heavier. Hadn't expected things to get so dramatic again here, but seems as though they are. Am supposed to be walking two young kids to school in the morning. Quite anxious about that, since the weather warning is in place until tomorrow lunchtime. And funnily enough it's only yellow?! Which is not what I'm hearing/seeing, if Friday was red Confused

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/02/2022 19:37

Looks like the second squall line is through to South London.

Also coming into Orpington now

Hi OYBBK, sorry for my ignorance, but what is this squall of which you speak? Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 20/02/2022 19:42

Yes, @baroqueandblue, I think the rating of it seems odd after Friday. We were amber then and this is much worse, and much more sustained.
