I'm sorry for starting this when we still have 200 posts to go, but I really should sleep and I'm worried that the previous thread will fill up. Here it is --> www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weather/4481220-Storm-Eunice please fill it, before using this one.

We’re only forecast a peak of 54mph gusts, here around tea time, but it’s reached jackdaw aerobatics point, now.

Jackdaws playing silly buggers should be an official point on the Beaufort scale, tbh.

The council were out planting saplings round the corner, this morning, replacing a tree that Malik felled plus a few others. Hopefully they were watered in well.

makinganavalon · 18/02/2022 14:53

I'm in the Highlands and usually storms hit us hard but nothing but a little bit of snow here and all calm, which was expected as no weather warning here. Weird to see how different it is in the rest of the country. Hope all ok

RozHuntleysStump · 18/02/2022 14:54

I’m in hull too. It’s waiting till I have to go out in half an hour I think.

CaveMum · 18/02/2022 14:55

Starting to ease a little bit here Cambs/Suffolk border after a very windy hour or so. Glad we tethered the trampoline last night as when I was watching it a while ago all 4 legs lifted off the ground!

WeatherwaxOn · 18/02/2022 14:56

Red zone here. It's just picked up again. Already lost a bit of soffit from the side of the house.

Justanotherobserver · 18/02/2022 14:57

Agree, I love seeing them playing on the wind. It looks like they've got a wave machine up there.

spiderlight · 18/02/2022 14:57

We're in Cardiff and the worst seems to have passed. Someone has just posted photos from our allotment site and it's carnage - sheds in bits and greenhouses smashed everywhere. We'll have to go down in the morning to survey the damage on our plot :( Our local doctors' surgery has apparently lost quite a bit of its roof as well.

EmmaH2022 · 18/02/2022 14:58

Living on a high floor is very noisy and irritating rn!

DinkyDaisy · 18/02/2022 15:00

Trying not to fence watch too much.
Went outside to check wobbly fences and piece from top flew off and just missed me. My 12 year old is just telling me to chill- if they fall down they fall down!
We have a fussy neighbour that side of our terrace and we are responsible for the fences there. Not great...
Nothing in the great scheme of things but a stress and expense we can do without!

queenrollo · 18/02/2022 15:01

Got mega windy here (Lincolnshire) about an hour ago. Settled for a bit but now ramped up again. Has changed direction slightly from coming from SW to now being more from the W. We're a bit more exposed from that side so I am really on edge now hoping the house and garden hold up. Have lost some branches on mature trees.

changingstages · 18/02/2022 15:02

in Essex - it seemed to be calming a little and then suddenly it ramped up again about half an hour ago, the fences looked like they were going to go and our neighbour's garage roof came clean off and flew into their garden - thank god nobody was nearby. It made a terrifying noise. It's a little calmer again now though still very blowy.

bruce43mydog · 18/02/2022 15:04

manchester, howling wind, raining the bins are all over and the tv ariel blew down and next doors tree fell down . Not going out today. Staying all cosy with the fire on, cup of tea, favorite book take away tonight and my dog for company.

Mrsorganmorgan · 18/02/2022 15:04

South Wales here. This morning was horrific, now amber. Gusts of 43 mph.

MedusasBadHairDay · 18/02/2022 15:04

Just had to go rescue the recycling box which had escaped from where we'd wedged it and was making a bid for freedom down the garden path 🤣

Pebbledashery · 18/02/2022 15:05

Wheelie bloody bins everywhere outside. I put rocks in mine!

lazarusb · 18/02/2022 15:07

South east England here - just had a 3 hour power cut and complete IT blackout. Very, very windy here.

SleepWalkingDoorSlammer · 18/02/2022 15:09

@Egghead68

Not much action in London
Not sure where you are, but we've had trees and fences down in South London
nordica · 18/02/2022 15:10

Feels like the worst is over here in SE London now? Still the occasional gust of wind but not as strong as it was an hour ago.

FuzzyPuffling · 18/02/2022 15:10

I've just seen the max wind gust speed for Bude - 98.2mph.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/02/2022 15:10

We should generally be starting to see the last of the big blasts now across the south and south east. Still gusting 50-60mph though and weakened structures will still come down. There could still be some nasty gusts, so it isn't time to go out to look at damage yet.

In East Anglia, especially in the northern half there are still a good couple of hours of the very severe gusts. There continues to be a risk of gusts to 70+mph across northern hills later this afternoon.

West Cambridgeshire here. Raining, a bit windy and bright sunshine!

What do you think about the West Midlands area ? Seems to quiet down and then a big gust comes back again
Motorina · 18/02/2022 15:18

Still very very windy in my bit of Suffolk. It did drop about half an hour or so ago, but has picked up again. More debris, I guess because it's been loosened by the past three or four hours.

Inmyownlittlecorner · 18/02/2022 15:18

In St Austell, Cornwall & just about to venture out with DC to get food after being in our hotel room all day but it’s started hailing. The wind hasn’t been too bad for the last hour though. My sister is meant to be travelling down from Cheltenham to join us at some point today too. It’s not been a great getaway!

ThePlumVan · 18/02/2022 15:18

Gusty in North Wales. I’m back in my pjs with the slow cooker on.
