Storm Doris. - Amber warnings central UK

No idea where this sprung up from, I've been a bit neglectful. Warnings of a short period of 70-80mph winds. Very nasty. Met office warning of widespread disruption, unsurprising if winds are to be that strong.

Can people keep this one bumped please, its going to catch a lot of people out I think.

Wind has really picked up all of a sudden here in Fife.

But.........I might just get a wee bit excited for Doris as we've got a snow warning for Thursday which if it comes off could provide a nice dump rather than a few pathetic tiny flakes . As long as we get enough proper cold air bumping into Doris.

Atheist maybe no to the trampoline tomorrow. When you do, tie it to a big tree with some sturdy rope. Have found that relying on the official tie down kits with pegs in the ground are useless when the soil is wet. Tied to a strong tree you can enjoy watching your trampoline pretend to be a kite.

You could perhaps make the trampoline then turn it upside down atheist?

We have an Amber warning here in Cheshire, and it's already rather blowy.

We have a lovely old oak tree in front of the house with lots of precarious looking large branches. I might suggest moving the cars out of the way tomorrow then....

I think it is, nannynick. After tomorrow it all calms down a little.
Crawling ~ think I'd rather put up with flight delays and cancellations than bumpy, wind-blown landings (not a good passenger at the best of times!)
