Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

Woke up to some frozen graupel on the windscreen, looked like those foam things you get in bean bags. Not many of them either Sad

TheSkiingGardener · 30/01/2012 09:07

OYBBK you are a genius. Snowing here in Southampton.

moonmother · 30/01/2012 09:12

very light snow here in Bedfordshire xx

floralsanddresses · 30/01/2012 09:13

Light snow here now. Not sticking as the floor is very wet after last night's rain.

Whatevertheweather · 30/01/2012 09:21

Ooh really theskiinggardener I'm about 15 miles south of Southampton - crossing fingers!!

GloriaSmud · 30/01/2012 10:04

Good luck with your interview lostinwales
Oooh, we've had a post from 'the management!'

Had a slight frost here (Leicester), temps are hovering around freezing at the moment. Don't forget this site which shows where people are reporting snow.

thrifty · 30/01/2012 10:18

V cold (0 degrees) and cloudy in bucks. Normally I'd say no to snow, but the house is a tip, so I could with a day at home to sort it out :)

thrifty · 30/01/2012 10:25

That's a very icy blue background you've got there Rebecca :)

RebeccaMumsnet · 30/01/2012 10:34

ha! to go with my icy blue typing fingers, it's very chilly here.

Kellamity · 30/01/2012 10:35

It's snowing here in North Wilts but very lightly.

Portofino · 30/01/2012 10:35

It's snowing here in Brussels!

GloriaSmud · 30/01/2012 10:53

The metoffice have issued a Cold Weather Alert: Level 3, with Wednesday and Thursday being the coldest days for most of us.
(I think we need smileys wearing hats, gloves and scarves for when we have chilly weather like this!)

mankyscotslass · 30/01/2012 11:24

Freezing cold, but very sunny - lovely day here. I'm going to freeze at work at lunchtime though!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 30/01/2012 11:37

Snow / sleet intermittently here in Barry, but it rained through the night so nothing sticking yet.

fatsatsuma · 30/01/2012 12:43

OYBBK, hope you're feeling better Smile

I wonder if you, or Gloria who is also a very clever weather person Grin can summarise the current thinking on the likelihood of snow next week? I know there was a downgrade but looking at the TWO forum that seems to be in question now. It's all very confusing! I love snow but I've got to make 2 big journeys next week and I'm getting a bit twitchy. I'm in the midlands but have to travel south btw.

Whatevertheweather · 30/01/2012 12:58

Sunshine bloody fecking sunshine here!

OhyouBadBadkitten · 30/01/2012 13:43

Met office have issued icy warnings which incorporate the potential snow showers down the eastern side of the UK.

Off to look at the models now....

OP posts:
OhyouBadBadkitten · 30/01/2012 13:59

We have a slight problem for snow hopers that its looks to be a pretty dry week unfortunately, with snow showers looking to be confined to the eastern coast. GFS does show snow in the Midlands on thursday though but the UKMO doesnt. However, in these situations sometimes small scale (mesoscale) features crop up at short notice and can bring large amounts of snow surprisingly quickly. Will keep you all posted if I spot anything cropping up.

Into the weekend - GFS shows a really deep freeze and poss snow across the SE/EA on Friday. ECMWF shows a a change to milder conditions.

Humph, didn't get the job, not that I really wanted it (too far away, would have had large portions of day with no idea what to do with children and dog) but still!

Is it very bad to have judged the interviewer though as he did not check the weather/roads and got stuck up the mountain I went the long way round, so the interview started 45 minutes late Grin

OhyouBadBadkitten · 30/01/2012 14:09

how funny about the interviewer! You are clearly far too organised a person to work for a company like that Grin
I'm sorry you didnt get it though.

SuePurblybilt · 30/01/2012 14:14

Late, sorry. Good and snowy in Devon (mid-north) last night as OYBBK said (Dartmoor) but the sleet cleared most of it within a couple of hours. Snowing heavily this morning on the link road in North Devon.
I would like a good snowfall on Tuesday night please.

Methe · 30/01/2012 14:15

One of the mums at school told me it was going to be -10 here on friday Shock

Tell me that cannot be!

OhyouBadBadkitten · 30/01/2012 14:16

Thanks for the update SuePurb :) looks cold and dry for you I'm afraid.

GloriaSmud · 30/01/2012 14:18

fatsatsuma ~ have found this snow forecast map on netweather that might help a bit with possible snow next week ~ it seems to confirm at the moment what OYBBK says about snow for us in the Midlands on Thursday.

(I don't know whether to be Grin or Blush at being called a 'very clever weather person!')
