Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

Just been out with an actual ruler now it's stopped (aw :( )and we have 10cm dead on.

GloriaSmud · 04/02/2012 22:43

LOL at lubey's description of her cats, especially a cat taking it on 'warrior style!' The UK's pets don't know what's hit them!

lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 22:45

They are so funny Gloria, my face hurts from laughing at my little bonkers warrior one :o

Hulababy · 04/02/2012 22:46

Seems to have stopped snowing now here.

GloriaSmud · 04/02/2012 22:57

Slowed down here and is back to smallish flakes. Final measurement of the night ~ about 9cms. I think there'll be some serious snowballing and snowman~building here tomorrow morning!

LottieJenkins · 04/02/2012 22:57

Still snowing hard here. Just tried to put Bumble out and he got to the door and put the brakes on! He wasnt amused when i threw a snowball at him!! Wink

whomovedmychocolate · 04/02/2012 23:00

Still snowing in Oxford. Had to go out to throw some stuff in the skip and fell on arse. Arse print had gone half an hour later so that's some heavy snow Grin

Tortoise · 04/02/2012 23:07

Snow nearly all gone here (somerset) DDs are going to be upset in the morning. They wanted to go sledging.

lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 23:07

It's been stopped for a while here now. Booooooooo! Still, enough for a snowman tomorrow though.

thekidsrule · 04/02/2012 23:11

as usual rain in bournemouth

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 04/02/2012 23:34

Its a bit piss poor here in East Sussex - more like sleet.

I'm really hoping for more because:
a) DD is at her Dad's tonight so will get to play in the snow with her sister in the morning, which she has never done before and will make her sooo happy.
and B) I get to go Grown Up sledging in the morning by myself!

Win/win Grin

headfairy · 04/02/2012 23:57

Still snowing in East Surrey.... Lots of snow but very fine flakes. Been going for about 6 hours now. I reckon we've got 5 cms...

mycatsaysach · 05/02/2012 00:29

got about half an inch or so in south hants - impressed Smile thought we were going to miss

JKSLtd · 05/02/2012 05:05

Lots outside now Grin
Ds2 got me up early as usual but he's not interested in looking out the window, will have to wait for ds1 to be excited.

ObviouslyOblivious · 05/02/2012 06:22

Think we have about 10 cm here in north London

pigsinmud · 05/02/2012 06:44

We have 7cm in Surrey Hills. I was up late and although it was snowing when I went to bed, I don't think we had much more during the night.

whomovedmychocolate · 05/02/2012 06:49

We have about 5cm left this morning and it's stopped :(

Wallace · 05/02/2012 06:53

This is so funny - we have none. It even rained yesterday. We live in the Scottish Highlands Grin

MegGriffin · 05/02/2012 06:58

I have just leaned out of the back door with my ruler and we have 8/9 cm in West Sussex. Now I have the lovely snow, my next request is for a snow day tomorrow!

pigsinmud · 05/02/2012 07:07

My boys were asking last night whether school would be open on Monday. Surely with only 7cm school will be open. Mind you I do understand their reasoning as it's a large site and children have to go outside frequently to get to lessons in different buildings.

MegGriffin · 05/02/2012 07:18

Wishfull thinking on my part schlike, I'm just very greedy Smile

DamnDeDoubtance · 05/02/2012 07:21

I think school opening depends a lot on how many staff can safely travel in and if they can get the meals in.

Just followed the excellent scientific advice advised by a poster way up the thread and have measured 7 cm with my hello kitty ruler.

Wooooo Hooooo.....

Fingers crossed for a snow day.

GloriaSmud · 05/02/2012 07:35

Think we had a bit of a thaw just after it stopped snowing as a load of snow has come down our conservatory roof and just frozen there, hanging off the gutter. Might have to knock that off with a broom a bit later; it must be quite a weight!

Might also have to start another snow thread ~ nearly 950 posts and it looks like it might be a cold week. Some of us might not have seen the last of the snow!

DamnDeDoubtance · 05/02/2012 07:39

According to net weather we are in for some more, nothing on the BBC site though.

Whatevertheweather · 05/02/2012 07:48

Mycat whereabouts are you? I'm in Fareham and we didn't have a single flake Sad
