Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

Chipping sorry Blush. Forget you are actually in Hants itself.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 29/01/2012 22:24

Raining here in Barry atm - would love a good bit of snow overnight (just got back from thr Alps, thermals are washed and all snow kit is readily accessible!)

youarekidding · 29/01/2012 22:25

And yes the Alps. Grin I miss working there too.

youarekidding · 29/01/2012 22:26

we need a new thread entitled 'desperate Hampshire Hogs need snow!'

OhyouBadBadkitten · 29/01/2012 22:29
Grin

you can see where the precipitation is at the moment met office radar Snow is more likely where the green - heavier precip is away from the immediate coast. Looks like Dartmoor is getting a good go of it.

youarekidding Grin I'm right on the edges of Surrey/Berkshire/Hampshire - but the address is Hants :)

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 29/01/2012 22:36

Snort snort snort

Mind you, I don't suppose the Apres Ski will be up to much here Grin

OhyouBadBadkitten · 29/01/2012 22:51

For all you fretting Hants people, you may just get a covering tonight, esp in the New Forest. But fear not, your chance may come later in the week. If it does it will be short notice as it will develop in small scale weather features.

The apparently inaccurate netTV says snow for now until midday tomorrow. They may be wrong but I will continue to put my faith in them because if their right snows coming Grin

mycatsaysach · 29/01/2012 23:24

i'm not in the new forest but near a wood and on top of a big hill so still hoping....

BelleDameSansMerci · 30/01/2012 07:03

Pan could you add East to your edict, please?

Moodykat · 30/01/2012 07:15

We've got an inch or so on the ground in West Berkshire! (approximate measurement as it's far too early to go outside yet!)

OhyouBadBadkitten · 30/01/2012 07:29

So, how are you all doing then? A disappointing event for some in the west I fear with not as much precip not making at as far across as some models had shown. Heard on the bbc that there has been some light snow in parts of Hampshire.

Looks like snow showers likely for Eastern coasts tomorrow. After that we shall see..... Models are once again split for the weekend. GFS shows very cold and snow Sunday, UKMO shows an abrupt warm up. ECMWF shows a milder spell.

well, am NE Scotland, it's buggerme cold today, the beeb were forecasting snow for tuesday, but I do not care to believe them, as their temperature predictions are too warm.

however it seems they were not that accurate with those so who knows! :o

Whatevertheweather · 30/01/2012 07:51

Not a single bloody flake Sad Can't see any forecast either for south Hampshire

OhyouBadBadkitten · 30/01/2012 07:53

never mind WTW - dont lose hope yet.

south345 · 30/01/2012 07:56

We must have had sleet overnight in east yorks.

mankyscotslass · 30/01/2012 08:05

Nothing here either - cold sunny start to the day.

Panfriedstardust · 30/01/2012 08:25

I have ammended the direction I issued at 22:17:05 to include east of the Pennines, Belle.

south345 · 30/01/2012 08:28

It snowed for a min here just now

lostinwales · 30/01/2012 08:56

Preseli Mountain road still closed but your permanently driving roving reporter can confirm that the coast road is clear. That just means I have to get through an interview now.

RebeccaMumsnet · 30/01/2012 09:01

It is snowing in Bath, not v heavy but a light covering and still falling

floralsanddresses · 30/01/2012 09:03

I'd really like a snow day. Mostly because I'd love to see the pup in the snow and DD1 has not seen snow yet. On the other hand I have work to do in the garden ie. putting together a new rabbit hutch towards the end of the week so I'd like it to stay dry for that.

I've heard reports of snow around 10 miles away but none here as of yet. It was raining all night and I don't think it's cold enough. Met office tells us to expect sleet.
