Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

Phew thanks OYBBK Grin

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 20:35

slarty - am just inferring from looking at the radar and the rough time estimate :)

OP posts:
OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 20:36

(and not rough as in beat em up rough - I meant approximate rough!)

lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 20:37

Oooh so does that mean this heavy stuff that's over me at the moment is going to hang around for a while? Put it's feet up and get comfy and drop a whole whack on snow on me? :o

slartybartfast · 04/02/2012 20:37
Grin ha, misunderstood
lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 20:38
  • a whole whack = a technical term for at least another 3 or 4cm that is Wink
iseenodust · 04/02/2012 20:40

lubey is skiing terms it's going to dump on you Grin

lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 20:43

Excellent. This pleases me :o

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 20:44

for a little while yet lubey :)

OP posts:
ObviouslyOblivious · 04/02/2012 20:47

But once it's left Lubey it's going to come and dump on us in London, right?

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 20:50

well, not quite lubeys bit - that would be an odd move for the front to make, but essentially yes, London is to be dumped on Grin

What about Dorset??????

DamnDeDoubtance · 04/02/2012 20:53

Will there be any snow left by the time it gets to me.

I am in the south east on the east coast bit.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 20:56

there should be plenty damn :) I always get a bit nervous when it comes to coastal locations, temp wise.

boiledegg - sadly dorset is probably out of the running now but ice is going to be a real concern for your area.

Whooop! 5cm :o

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 20:58

tomorrow we are all going to be exhausted from the anticipation!

OP posts:
TheGashlycrumbTinies · 04/02/2012 20:58

:(

DamnDeDoubtance · 04/02/2012 21:00

We rarely get snow. It could be 10 cm up the road and here not a bean.

Why does being near the coast affect the temperature?

iseenodust · 04/02/2012 21:04

Officially (because I have just stuck head out and finger in) 2 inches...and still falling.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 21:04

sea temps are warmer that the land and can affect the local temp :) sometimes I think that onshore breezes could play a part in that - they are created by the temp difference (but I'm hypothesising on that)

OP posts:
TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 04/02/2012 21:05

Slarty, I think you're not far from me in East Sussex? Well its just started!

Whoop whoop!

lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 21:05

DamnDe because the sea doesn't go below zero so it warms up the air, when places a few miles away might be in the minus figures right on the coast it's more difficult for it to get so cold

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 21:05

sorry boiledegg :(

OP posts:
harbingerofdoom · 04/02/2012 21:06

Well it looks like we're not getting any :( It's raining. South coast near Brighton.
