Can't promise that I'll be able to add as much as I usually do (not very well atm) so its quite likely I might miss stuff but I've added a few thoughts to that thread re the current set up and tis easier if I just keep it in one place.

It's pretty heavy in E Berks (close to H'Row).

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 21:09

bummer harbinger :( it shows how knife edge it all is. Perhaps it will turn to snow.....

Thanks for the explanation, fascinating stuff.

NorksAreMessy · 04/02/2012 21:12

Hello Malvern calling.

I have just crashed my car in the snow, abandoned car, been rescued miraculously by passing friend, taken to friends house, rescued again by husband, been diverted, driven very very slowly home (10 miles =90 minutes)

Have now had some rum and am admiring the beauty of it.
It seems that snow beauty is indirectly proportional to distance from home

Sparklingbrook · 04/02/2012 21:14

hello Norks. You are quite near me. Grin Are you ok? were you hurt?

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 21:15

oh good grief norks are you ok? snow crashes can be so surreal. Glad you made it home safely - take care of yourself.

Oh heck, Norks. Are you OK?

Just been out for another measuring session and we're up to 7cms!

Sparklingbrook · 04/02/2012 21:17
ShagOBite · 04/02/2012 21:18

OH! I know who you are (I think!) Looked at your profile and I know of someone who does what you do, lives near me, friends in common! Won't out you, don't worry. If that's the case, really is there anything I can do? You home safe and sound?

It's raining now. DS1 is nearly in tears. Sad

JayVazzle · 04/02/2012 21:26

Getting heavy in SE London. Not sure if I am Smile or Sad: as long as its gone Monday.

whojamaflip · 04/02/2012 21:26

Yipee - just popped outside for a fag and did a snow check

8 cm Shock and is still chucking it down Grin

OYBBK you mention the front has stalled - does that mean that we won't be getting the rain following on behind before the dc get up tomorrow? Hoping there will still be enough for a proper sledging session tomorrow? (Glos/Oxon border) Thanks

lubeybooby · 04/02/2012 21:26

Oooh Gloria excellent! I think you copped a red bit on that radar, while Hinckley only got yellow :(

It's slowed down again now. I'll have a final measure in a bit.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 21:26

I'm sorry sparkling, sadly the forecasts seem to be playing out.

OP posts:
PeneloPeePitstop · 04/02/2012 21:26

How do you see it going for us here OYBBK? Will what we already have still be there in the morning? Will we get more?

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 04/02/2012 21:28

Norks - I presume you are OK if you are home and drinking rum!! :) How's the car??

It's still snowing here - quite heavily now. It's laying really well, even on the road :) Trying to decide where to go tomorrow to make the most of it :)

NorksAreMessy · 04/02/2012 21:30

Am now in tears thanks to LOVELY Malven MNetters.

I am FINE, but surprisingly shocked and shaky and feeling sick about driving into a hedge by The Bank House.
Lovely friend's son was literally and coincidentally three cars behind and rescued me, and drove my very broken car round to the garage by The Foal Yard...where it remains, sad and broken.

What is amazing is that as I sort of saw that I was going to crash I could 'see' myself thinking "shall I crash into the car in front, or shall I steer towards the hedge". Quite glad I chose the hedge ! It's softer.

lovely DH came out to rescue me and I had a panic attack in the car, even though he is a DRIVING GOD!!!!!!! Snow is scary.
My Norwegian friend thinks we are all soft.

Hope all you fellow Malverners are tucked up tight, and thank you

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 21:30

whojam - it may well turn sleety for a bit but with temps close to zero and hat much snow, I think there will be some hanging about. take care with ice though.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 04/02/2012 21:31

Will be interesting to see whether much snow is left in the morning.

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/02/2012 21:34

ppp - I think it will still be with us. Fingers crossed!

Norks Wine you need to be really gentle with yourself, Im not surprised you feel shaky. The important thing is that you are ok.

OP posts:
PeneloPeePitstop · 04/02/2012 21:36

I will cross every limb! Thanks Grin

So sorry about the accident, Norks

eatyourveg · 04/02/2012 21:37
