Hello all! Welcome to any school staff looking to improve their diet/exercise in 2021!

Last year I lost 5 stone and my BMI dropped from 42 to 28. My aim this year is to drop another 2 stone to get into the 'normal' weight category and to improve my stamina with jogging.

Echt it's the "spirit" apparently, in black. I'm drinking more water now, so that's a win.

And I've just been and walked 6 miles. So that's also a win.

Failed to go for a walk, but did investigate the mysterious world of low carb baking. Apparently I'm going to need a lot of ground almonds.

I find it really quite hard to do 10K a day, do others? Some days when I was feeling down a few months ago - definite link to motivation to exercise - I managed all of 2.5K. Better now am making sure I walk nearly every day.

@JanuaryChill felt the same today. Was foggy and bleak here, just wanted to hide under the duvet with no motivation all day today. That 7k was harder to get than when I've done 30k on sunny spring days.

@JanuaryChill I found loads! I have no idea whether they taste ok though. Very keen to try out a low carb pizza base which seems to involve mozzarella and ground almonds. There were lots of recipes on Ditch the Carbs and another website called Joy Filled Eats. I feel quite inspired!

Hello everyone! Had a bit of a slovenly day yesterday just mooching about but did prep lessons for this week so at least I got something done. Aiming for 15k steps today... 5k so far :) Hope everyone is ok x

Hey monkey. I’m up to 13,000 steps and feeling good about it, but I’ve just made chocolate brownies. They are freezable though, so I will stick half of them in the freezer for another time.

Wow 13k that's brilliant! I've been doing school stuff for the last 3 hours (helping DH set up his lessons for one). Right on the treadmill I go!

That reminds me of this recipe. Originally saw Nigella do it and loved it, although it was a bit of a faff to prepare.
I know it has sugar in but no carbs!

I do 10-15k steps most days because if I don't go out for a walk or run I feel like I am going crazy.

I think I am going crazy. Today I am grumpy and restless and ragey. It's not hormones, it's just the knowing that I'm under the work kosh for weeks now and there's no chance of having any time in the house on my own for months.

I just want to go under the duvet and hide. Until July. I've chewed my nails again. All the signs of proper anxiety are back.

Not sure, Harriet, I’ve never subbed with sweetener for a cake.
Nigella version less faffy with no need to separate the eggs.

Guy I said to DH this morning I feel like I’m due on, but I’m not. No patience with anything or anyone. One bonus of wearing a mask at work is the adults can’t see the expression on my face when they are being stupid. Walking has been my saviour over the past year. Always enjoyed it, but preferred scenic, hilly places. Have discovered the urban beauty around me - saw a fox this morning, what a privilege that was! ❤️
Can’t wait for lighter mornings so I can get a proper walk in before work. Used to walk the dog in the dark but I wouldn’t go out now she isn’t with us.

I wish I had a treadmill. I do have an exercise bike, imagined I'd go on it for hours but about 20 mins does me in. Walking 10,000 takes me over an hour, it's about 4 miles and a bit for me (short legs)

I’ve been terrible and averaged about 500 steps last week apart from one day I did short jog and today did walk with kids and DH. I worked late and am planned for this week so am hopefully to fit in some outside jogs/walks/runs.

Food I was ok for a few days and then ok during the day and Mark’s but snacked too much...

I lost 2lbs though so a start at least!

It's one of those really annoying recipes where they tell you their life story and you have to scroll down forever, but the results were delicious - I made them planning to use them during the week for lunches but DH and the DDs polished off the lot. Really filling as well.
