The royal family

A bit of compassion for a King with cancer wouldn’t go amiss.

Yes, of course he is head of state but he is also a human being with cancer.

In the past few weeks alone he has faced the shock return of a treacherous son and an exploitative daughter in law set on destabilising the monarchy which is the King’s life works, and destroying any peace within the family.
When trying to deal with the situation he is damned if he says something to try to control them and damned if he doesn’t.

Now he has a vengeful ex brother in law accusing him (with zero evidence) of disgraceful comments and conduct at the time of the highly traumatic death of his late wife and also repeating scurrilous slander made by said ex wife (who was well known for her own vengeful nature) implying he is a closeted bisexual.

I am not of the #bekind brigade but as someone who has cancer myself I really would ask that a glimmer of humanity is shown to him.

Stress really does impact cancer. I would not be at all surprised if these dreadful goings on damage the Kings health very seriously.

I wonder if H&M or CS consider this at all or if they will feel any guilt should the King become more unwell?

Not something I could live had I treated a family member so badly.

Agree OP. It’s another sad sign of the current situation of destroying people and respect. Why now? I totally agree.

pinkdyno · 18/09/2026 21:15

And it’s telling the press, BBC in particular, have had oh so much more to report on this, than a president lying about his whereabouts during 9/11

pinkksugarmouse · 18/09/2026 21:18

I'm sure people do have compassion for him with regards to having cancer. However he has consistantly shown himself to be a rude, arrogant, short-tempered man with little empathy for others. He has made poor decision after poor decision. Having cancer doesn't exempt anyone from the consequences of their actions. He also covered up for his disgraceful brother and is still doing so. He took the minimum action only due to facing the anger of the British public.

Don't worry too much about his cancer treatment. He is recieving the best money can buy whilst others die in hospital corridors.
You've given your opinion. This is mine. I won't enter into a debate as we are worlds apart. Done.

ItsAlwaysTwins · 18/09/2026 21:21

What a load of old bollocks.

I couldn’t give a shiny shite about Charles, but I hardly think his son moving back to England is a trauma. Nor his ex brother in law writing a book about his ex wife.

From what I’ve seen, he’s an arrogant prick, like most of his dysfunctional family.

mathanxiety · 18/09/2026 21:22

Having cancer doesn't mean you get a free pass on decency.

I agree 100% with @pinkksugarmouse

The statement from the Palace wrt the book was a disgusting piece of patronising.

Perhaps that's because the UK doesn't have a president.

Fluffyholeysocks · 18/09/2026 21:24

It's sad. All this silly book writing annoys me, whether it's H or CS. Nasty money grabbing exercise. Awful.

Ermmmmm........

HobgoblinNorFoulFiend · 18/09/2026 21:25

I’m very sympathetic. I think the best thing would be to let them all hand in all their titles and properties and go off into peaceful private lives, never again bothered by the peasants. It’s only fair really.

LathkillDale · 18/09/2026 21:25

My sympathy this week is for William and Harry - having the tragic events around their mother’s death dragged up again! Why couldn’t their uncle have showed them some compassion, rather than him having his five minutes of fame again?

Epoisses · 18/09/2026 21:26

Nope. This whole issue shows what a nasty dysfunctional lot they are.

Ehh?? Can you link me to the BBC REPORT of the president of USA lie.

compared to the coverage of this

Harry is said to be planning a documentary about her but I agree about William who has said he wants her to be left to rest in peace.

Where on earth did she imply he was bisexual. Ive never ever heard that before ???

Apparently CS has written that Diana told him Charles was in love with his valet.

I think that many people are on the king’s side, despite his failings.

M&H are bitter, illogical and just deranged. Their actions make no sense. They have both trashed their own families repeatedly and shit talk for money. They’ve just returned to the UK having apparently escaped racism, suicidal feelings and a family they seem to despise. Hmm. Why? Want money? Want content? No person or business trusts them as they are proven liars.

CS looks like he needs money. He can say what he wants about Charles and Diana - that was a shitshow for sure - but let’s not forget his wife at the time, Victoria Lockwood, was despairing, in pain, anorexic, lonely and basically destroyed whilst she was married to him and he was cheating. I am old enough to remember the photos in the newspapers in the 80s/90s. Three divorces and about 7 children. Married for the 4th time recently. I don’t think it makes him sound loyal and reasonable. It makes him sound selfish, arrogant and ruthless. Again, book=money. I think he’s damaged his own reputation more than the king’s.

Oh actually i do remember something like that. But i thought it was more that someone had seen a lewd act .

Tel12 · 18/09/2026 21:45

It's all sounding like a bit of desperate mud raking.

CurlewKate · 18/09/2026 21:45

We have no idea whether he deserves compassion or whether he has behaved really badly. He doesn’t get a pass for being the King.

TaptheCap · 18/09/2026 21:46

I'd love it if KC came out as bi!

EmptyInTheValley · 18/09/2026 21:47

The king is a petulant brat, cancer or no cancer.
And having seen Charles Spencer's interview with Laura Kuenssberg, I believe him.

Twatterati · 18/09/2026 21:48

There’s not a lot of compassion on here for other men who spent their entire marriage cheating on their wife. Why should we feel sorry for him now that he’s old and ill?

WingnutSOS · 18/09/2026 21:49

I wonder which one of Diana’s many championed good causes will be receiving the proceeds of the book …..oh wait…

Spencer looking like a money grabbing little shit tbh. Don’t tell me that this wasn’t PR strategised with the Sussexes during their latest well publicised (by them) get together. Clear that Harry a chip off the old Spencer block.

rockstarshoes · 18/09/2026 21:49

It’s 30 years ago! God knows why the BBC think this is news! Bloke needs money to fund his latest divorce settlement - who cares who said what or did what!
The King was convening all the A.I. heads on trying to reach a consensus on the safety of all of us- what was Earl Spencer up to?

CoffeeCantata · 18/09/2026 21:53

Epoisses · 18/09/2026 21:26

Nope. This whole issue shows what a nasty dysfunctional lot they are.

If that horrible creep, Charles Spencer is to be believed.

For me, knowing what I do about him, that’s a big “if”.
