This was at an event this week. But the photo just made me gasp. It looks like the elderly woman is being used as a prop, rather than being treated in a dignified way.

People still make comments about how Meghan is using sick children for PR. Not about merchandising clothes that's a seperate point.

She is a private citizen she isn't required to follow whatever Royal protocols are in place, if she wants to merchandise her clothes or let people know what she wore and? Plenty of people.do it, influences, celebrities etc. To a certain point we also used ro know what Catherine wore.

Surely you find any kind of commercial exploitation of people's suffering and grief highly distasteful?

What was Meghan thinking, merching her shirt after the Australian tragedy? Has she no empathy?

damnatiomemoriae · Yesterday 15:04

In a world where it is ok to merch because they’re private citizens now, how is everyone standing on the Clergy being bullied because they are promoting affordable Christmas chocolate with a Christmas message? For charities supporting those with leprosy?

Peace and goodwill to all men.

Sorry, just seen someone made the same point above me.

It's worth repeating

I think the only way M will feel empathy would be if that word was sewn on the label on that shirt.

“You and the media call is a quasi royal tour they didn't.”

No I don’t

Every single day, people go to places like Chernobyl, Auschwitz, the 9/11 Memorial, or historic battlefields, take photos, tag their outfits ("fit checks"), and post them to Instagram or TikTok where they earn ad revenue or affiliate commissions. For a huge portion of the internet-native population, this is just normal digital behavior.

You still see her as a royal even if she is non working royal so hold her to the standards as though she is and therfore going to these sites is to offer comfort etc. But she is a private citizen, was not a working royal and therefore for me.I dont need to hold her up to those same standards. I don't call her trips quasi royal tours because they aren't imo.

Merching your clothing on a trip to the eating disorder centre in Australia was pretty sick behaviour though.

As was merching the grey-blue stripy shirt she wore the the Bondi beach massacre event - the style being very similar to concentration camp uniforms

🙄

Oh my god.
I cannot believe you posted that.
To think there's any comparison between people visiting museums and memorials and a greedy woman making money from outfits worn at the scene of a pogrom is shocking.
Meghan made money from visiting the scene of an antisemitic massacre.
That is all.
I cannot understand why you defend her.

Offer comfort my arse.

You don’t need to comfort people with a camera crew.

This absolutely does not happen ‘every single day’. It has happened occasionally, to widespread public outrage and condemnation. On those occasions the Auschwitz Memorial and Museum has issued a reminder that visiting a site of mass murder requires solemnity and respect for the victims, rather than treating the place as a backdrop for personal content, fashion, or social media engagement. Meghan however is perfectly comfortable using the site of a mass murder to advertise her clothes for personal gain.

Honestly, your willingness to condone the commercial exploitation of these vulnerable people says a lot about you.

Also, look up what quasi means. Meghan’s intentions (even if you knew what they were) have no bearing on whether or not her behaviour is quasi-royal.

How will Meghan and Harry respond to their supporters hounding a CoE vicar online for suggesting that for only £5.99 they could buy a charity advent calendar? One that contains Fairtrade chocolate and makes a donation to the Leprosy Mission.

I thought preventing online bullying was one of their big causes? So will they speak out?

And the cause - the Leprosy Mission - was one of Diana's charities at the time of her death.

I honestly can’t fathom it. Nothing shakes their faith in her. It’s weird but also fascinating to watch the mental contortions they perform in order to justify her behaviour.

Not again- how disgusting!

The SS put a small jam-maker out of business for a while when the owner questioned something to do with As Ever - a couple of years ago - with online threats.

HAM remained silent as usual.

Probably too busy hanging out with Chrissy Teigen or Ellen DeGeneres, both renowned bullies.

They won’t respond because they only care about themselves, they only clap back when they are affected, their fake protestations about online bullying only refer to them, they don’t give a shit about online bullying of the clergy or anyone else, they appear to support the Sewer Squad so no they won’t say anything, they didn’t step in when they were attacking Catherine so their silence will be deafening on this.

I agree. I also sometimes wonder if they’re a little afraid themselves of the Sussex Squad. It reminds me of the expression “riding a tiger”. The SS have a truly terrible reputation for attacking anyone who even mildly criticise HAM - death threats, the lot.

I certainly think that if H ever left M, the furies would turn on him pretty fast!

As a private citizen she had absolutely no need whatsoever to turn up with her gooey grief tourism and I really doubt anyone wanted her 'comfort'. The only standards she needs to be held to, royal or not, is those of a decent human being and in Australia she failed that.

Omg someone has a different opinion! Get over it. You post lots of things I wouldn't post but hey I don't need to be aaying why do you hate her.

I am notndefending her just because I don’t agree with you or others opinions. Doesn't make me a fan or a supporter or anything but someone who just has a different opinion.
