This was at an event this week. But the photo just made me gasp. It looks like the elderly woman is being used as a prop, rather than being treated in a dignified way.

I wasn't referring to you though was I. I referred to the PR disaster threads where manipulated images are used to poke fun at H&M. It is also full of gossip and rumours, plenty of posters making comments that Meghan is doing x y z when noone actually knows anything.

So whilst you may not choose to do it yourself you do frequent those threads and comment on them, but funnily enough you don't tell those posters off or say anything to them.

Hence the double standards. 😉

I haven’t seen any “manipulated” images of HAM which are meant to be taken seriously on MN. In fact - I can’t think of any at all off hand. Maybe you’re referring to comical, cartoon, jokey images like the kind of thing you see on the front of Private Eye? Otherwise I don’t know what you’re referring to.

These jokey images are not meant to be taken seriously. There’s never any suggestion that they represent reality, truth, actuality - whatever. They’re clearly jokes in the long British tradition of taking the piss out of public figures, especially self- important public figures.

What the OP has done here, though, is to try to claim the image represents a real situation and that it’s evidence that WandC were using or exploiting an unwilling victim for their own evil purpose- read the OP.

That’s totally different and a much more serious issue in terms of manipulating opinion dishonestly.

A clever pp on another thread created a funny image of Harry as a goldfish. No-one actually thinks H is a goldfish. That’s the difference.

Good god. I remember the pictures from Bondi Beach, the scene of the worst anti-Semitic atrocity in Australian history.....and Meghan added a link to where you could buy her outfit.
You couldn't make it up.

Oh God - I didn’t know that. That’s a new low.

It was particularly unfortunate the shirt she was trying to sell off the back of a antisemitic terror attack was so similar to the Auschwitz uniform. I hope that was accidental but wouldn’t be that surprised if she did it deliberately to generate more interest or because she thought it would be nice to have a ‘theme’.

I was reeling. I actually thought someone was doing a particularly cruel spoof.
Merchandising from the scene of a massacre?.😱

It's a bit different but during their 2018 royal tour, Meghan wore diamond chandelier earrings, gifted to her by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to a state dinner in Fiji, sparking controversy due to his connection to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi

MM said the earrings were on loan from a jewellers but BP later realised this wasn't true which put them in a very awkward diplomatic position as they had already issued a denial

I genuinely think M just doesn’t have real feelings, or understand or empathise. With others. The fact that she’d do this confirms it to me. I think she’s as hard as nails.

Snap. I was reading these just now and thinking she has an actual personality disorder if she thinks merching off a massacre is OK. It seems to be verging on sociopathic.

Can you image what the Sussex Squad would have said about Catherine if SHE’D done that?

When I think of the constant references to her shaking hands with the children through that fence in Jamaica, as if it was an act of colonialist condescension, I get very disillusioned with people’s criticial thinking. It was nothing of the sort, but it suits the twisted narrative of the SS to just keep repeating it.

I wonder whether the PP thinks it’s fine - presumably not, or they wouldn’t have tried to deny it. So what must they think of Meghan dressing up as a concentration camp inmate for a visit with survivors of an antisemitic attack, in order to make money 🤔

Perhaps (and I realise I'm reaching so hard here I might pull a muscle) she thought that was demonstrating sympathy? because you'd have to be pretty sick and twisted to do it for any other reason.

Harry missed a trick there - he could have claimed his Nazi fancy dress was an expression of solidarity with victims of the holocaust 😂

noonames · 03/10/2026 08:14

I’m trying to imagine what excuses might emerge now - obviously one is that Meghan and her team are just incredibly ignorant, didn’t bother to think about it and it was a mistake. I think yours is plausible, or maybe ‘there’s no point in simply pretending these atrocities did not happen. Meghan is entitled to show that she is not a holocaust denier’.

My own view is that she just never thinks about these things and, in the days when she was a working Royal, never took advice

The RF are VERY careful how they dress, often using symbolic colours or jewellery when they visit another country. HMTQ wore green on her much publicised photo to Ireland and Diana had a special silk dress made for her tour to Japan which had large red polka dots on a white background, symbolic of the Japanese flag

Angela Kelly was known to do a recce of places where HMTQ would be photographed so she could choose an outfit for TQ which would stand out in that background and be appropriate in every way for that particular occasion

I just think M is clueless, wears whatever she can for marketing purposes so there's no subtlety of thought there whatsover . . .

You can choose to be ignorant about history as a private individual, if you’re that sort of numpty (as H boasted at school), but not if you want to be a public figure.

This is just the sort of crass error those much-maligned Men in Grey Suits wouid once have prevented.

They are both a deadly combination of ignorance and arrogance - actually, those qualities often go together.

By the reasoning of all ‘big bad meanies being silently accepting of behaviour on other threads’ making people guilty of double standards, the same can be levelled at others here.

Only what is going on here on this thread is worse.

Yes, agreed. And they won’t be bothered by all the nicknames and various ways posters try to diminish others.

What always takes me aback is when people are so quick to point out other posters’ imagined “lies” and “hypocrisy” but don’t seem to mind Harry and Meghan’s actual lies and hypocrisy, or indeed their own.

I suspect this OP gasped in delight when they “found” this image. It must have been just what they were looking for!😄

The pictures of them at hospitals would have been with consent organised by the hospital itself. As it is when Catherine visits a hospital and is photographed with sick children.

Not sure if you realise, but Meghan used the photos of her with sick children to promote and advertise the outfit she was wearing. When she posted the photos, she included links where people could buy the clothes, so that she could earn commission on the sales. She used them to make money. Your claim that she didn’t use sick children is a lie because she so clearly did.

She did the same at a visit to the site of an antisemitic terror attack, where photos with the survivors were again used to advertise her outfit. She wore a shirt very similar to the Auschwitz uniform on that occasion, who knows whether that was through ignorance, or just a desire to make the biggest splash (and the most money) possible.

This is not remotely comparable to any other royal, or any normal celebrity doing a hospital visit.

As I said above, you don’t need to deny it or defend Meghan, she was evidently quite comfortable with trying to make money out of meeting sick children and survivors of a terror attack. That said, I don’t think she’s done it since, so perhaps she noticed the criticism and thought better of it, who knows.

Catherine hasn't taken that opportunity to merchandise her clothing.
