I am currently reading Russsll Myers Catherine & William. Enjoying it but one thing that stands out is how the Middletons have never put a foot wrong.
Carole was not from an aristocratic background nor was Michael but they raised their kids not to put a step wrong. Kate also had embarrassing family members (Uncle Gary) but she still invited him to the wedding which was the right thing to do & it nipped the media scandal in the bud & took the wind out of any sails.. Meghan invited none of her extended family or her dad & it caused massive media speculation.
Kate was born for royal life & is a natural. Very proud of our future queen. Her parents did an amazing job.

It was thd first article I linked, there's loads in the same vein.. my point was where was Doria's side of the family? Where were any of the Markles? Where were her old school or college friends? Neighbours? It's all very odd! Then to invite the Clooneys who said they didn't know them 🤔

To be fair her Dad was meant to be walking her down the aisle but pulled out because he had had a heart attack just after the staged photos incidents that her sister set up for him. And to top it off he published the let she wrote him and carried on giving interviews about her.

I'm not a huge Meghan fan but I think her Dad is a waste of space as is Samantha.

I agree. Her family, excluding Doria, are awful. Her half brother donned a wig, blacked up his face and did a youtube vid mocking her.
Samantha, her sister, changed her name to Markle as soon as Meghan met Harry... all to cash in.
Yet the OP is asking 'where were her family?' at the wedding? Seriously???

This thread needs renaming. It's nothing to do with Kate and the Middletons unless there is fawning over Kate. It's yet another thread to insult and demean Meghan

Yes Catherine (why are you calling her Kate?) has made herself into a bland public clothes horse. I think that is what the royal family want. A woman with no opinions or obvious personality. I am sure that's not the real Catherine. But it's sad that she is the ideal woman.

I don't need to hear the personal opinions of people who are in apolitical positions of state. All we ever hear today are people ranting about their opinions. In particular when your part of your role is to highlight different communities around the country - the focus should be on them, not your opinion on Palestine or Trump.

They are quite rightly concentrating on bringing up their family.

She's easy to talk to and engaging, which is probably why she has been such a success.

This is turning into some weird fan fiction ...you cannot possibly know what any of them think. You speak as though you have intimate details and have been privy to conversations and decisions as though you are close to them.

You have no idea how often and who Meghan talks to. Why her family members other than Doria did not attend the wedding, there could be a multitude of perfectly sound reasons, visas, the date, health, individual didn't want to be on camera etc. Yet you comment as though you know.

Yep, there's quite a fanbase for Thomas "Give Daddy the money" Markle on here. It's only because he has spoken out against the couple. No other reason. If it was a person they liked, their father, they would wipe the floor with him

George is full boarding. Charlotte at minimum sometimes boards. William has referred to her boarding. Louis is 8 and has a nanny.

They never work during school holidays except for fun things like Wimbledon.

So during school times they can apparently do very little because Charlotte may only be in school and not boarding, and Louis at 8 needs a nanny and both parents to care for him when he is not in school.

Poor A&L no relationship with their first cousins, their uncle, aunt in law, none of Meghan's family barr Doria... it is all utterly dysfunctional.

She had long time college friends, other friends, and Suits friends at her wedding. (names can be provided). That won't of course suit your Meghan bashing thread.

Well this has turned into a Meghan bashing thread under the guise of talking about Catherine.

I think W&C are the height of lazy and privileged.

I think H&M are batshit.

However if I was looking for a role model for my daughter, it would definitely not be Catherine who comes from a life of privilege and being cosseted. At least Meghan worked, had an independent life, lived away from home, made her own money.

I honestly see nothing in C to warrant the fawning she gets, it's bizarre. Same with her sister. At least her brother tried to work, so what if he failed and good on him for doing that reading at C's wedding, it can't have been easy.

Which political opinions were those? Did he say who he votes for? What he thinks of Trump? Whether Israel should be boycotted?

I think Catherine does what the royal family want. I just think it's so sad that what they want is a bland clothes horse with no visible personality and whose only hobbies are sport, and taking photos of her kids and nature,. Her persona is like an identikit princess.

It started out that way when I said that Kate's parents have been incredible throughout Kate's time in the royal family & a great support to her & William. Russell Myers book Catherine & William praises the Middletons discretion & support.
