Kate & The Middletons

I am currently reading Russsll Myers Catherine & William. Enjoying it but one thing that stands out is how the Middletons have never put a foot wrong.
Carole was not from an aristocratic background nor was Michael but they raised their kids not to put a step wrong. Kate also had embarrassing family members (Uncle Gary) but she still invited him to the wedding which was the right thing to do & it nipped the media scandal in the bud & took the wind out of any sails.. Meghan invited none of her extended family or her dad & it caused massive media speculation.
Kate was born for royal life & is a natural. Very proud of our future queen. Her parents did an amazing job.

I think she’s reduced herself to that status; she got what she wanted - William. I hope he’s been worth it.

I'm not encouraging anyone to criticise anyone. I was merely saying that even though Kate did not grow up aristocratic or royal the royal lifestyle is second nature to her.
Her discretion, her intuition & her consideration is incredible. It would be understandable if she came from an aristocratic background as they close ranks but Kate was outside those circles & is now more royal than the royals themselves.
As I said I am reading Russell Myers book & the Middleton's as a family have been a huge asset to the crown

Aristocrats are not a separate species of human and they are not superior to others in any way.

Meghan didn't invite any of her extended family or her mother's side, cut her dad off the guest list too.. her extended family were very upset at the time.. why were none of the family invited. They all said there was no fall out or anything that happened to not get an invite.. so weird.. Not one of her extended family!!! She insisted on inviting the Clooneys who said afterwards they didn't know her prior to the wedding.. very odd but none of her own family.. her half sister? Her poor dad?
My point is Kate has gone 20 years without even a hair out of place.. Meghan is constantly stepping out of line, oversharing & spouting inaccuracies while expecting the taxpayers hard earned cash..
I'm just pointing out Kate seemed born for royal life & was brought up extremely well.

Are you trying to say being well brought up is a hallmark of members of the royal family?

If so, I am here to bust your bubble.

Independent?!! Expecting the British taxpayers to pay for her security is not Independent!
Pulling her kids out for school after two days due to poor planning & disorganisation is neither intelligent or independent.. it's chaotic!

They are the son and daughter in law of the king, and their children are the grandson and granddaughter of the king.

Do you really believe that a terrorist group would avoid targeting them because of some very flimsy hair splitting as to whether they are "working" royals or not, or would they see in them a relatively easy target because they don't have adequate security?

Terrorists go for the low hanging fruit.

Well at least they didn't expect the crown or taxpayers to fund them!

Where do you think the covid bail out money came from?

Tell me how Covid bailout money isn’t taxpayer money. Explain it to me like I’m 5.

How do you know what she does?
Do you have access to her life to know this?

Oh come on.

If they are not serving & working for the taxpayers we are under no obligation to fund them. They left the rf to become private citizens. They have made millions in commercial deals with Spotify, Netflix etc so are more than able to fund their own security, not our problem.

Kate is much thinner and unwell looking than Princess Diana.

Kate is recovering from cancer. She was always very slim. Good genes from her mother who is also very slim as is Pippa.
Even during her school days Kste was mocked in her old school for being very slim..

Charles & Anne don't have three children to look after!

A princess anne had two children, if you went back to when Zara was 12, the royal engagements were well over 400 a year

Shame their business folded owing a total of £2.7M and £700K to HMRC so hardly as pure white as you are making out! Owing HMRC so much is a form of taxpayers funding them. (let alone the scores of small businesses who weren't paid. After them moving into a £5million house) There was so much bad feeling about it, some traders were sticking posters up on lamposts where the Middletons lived. So please do not super gloss them.

Its not about Meghan either you started it about Kate and the Middletons yet keep bringing Meghan into it. So whats the issue if someone mentions someone else. 🤔

You do realise covid money was taxpayers money right. I don't know anyone who doesn't even know that basic fact. 😐

BarbaraUsher · 18/09/2026 07:20

Kate Middleton is an awful example to young women. Never held down a job, barely “ works” as a Royal ( not that you can call that working). And is so thin that it must be an eating disorder, surely? And why she now an expert on early years despite having no educational experience in this area? What the hell does she do all day long to fill her day as her three kids are at school and she has stuff to do all the cooking and cleaning etc.

twocornichons · 17/09/2026 17:33

I don’t think they’ve been a huge asset to the crown at all ! Illness aside ( and this is before she became unwell) Kate could have done an awful lot more to help Meghan who was being bullied by the press - all whilst spearheading an anti bullying campaign ! Oh the irony .. luckily I don’t want to read about them but an asset they clearly are not

The Middleton family invited Meghan to stay with them more than once - she refused.

They also offered for Doria to stay with them over the wedding period - also refused. M had no intention of making friends with C - she was a rival, to be targeted and destroyed, firstly because M knew she would always have to defer to her and secondly because she knew H had been so fond of her.

Meghan had Catherine in her sights even before she met her - she had to be destroyed, which M set about with wide-eyed, faux innocence.

It makes me smile when people pretend M was an innocent, helpless little victim. I don't know how your choose your friends if you can misjudge someone so badly. She's one of the most incredible pieces of work I've ever seen operating!

simpsonthecat · 18/09/2026 07:36

That is your interpretation. You don't know any of this.

Meghan set out to destroy Kate before she even met her?! 🤣😂
What bunkum. You talk like what you say is fact.
It isn't.

i do wish people would not pretend they are not starting a Meghan bash thread.
why use one woman to bring another down.

Yes! But Catherine being Catherine wasn't going to lower herself to Megan's Jeremy Kyle standards & enter into public slagging matches . The slagging matches were entirely one sided from Megs whe Catherine calming carried on.. never complain, never explain! Catherine silently reminded Megsy & the public rhat she is future queen & won't pay attention to fools

Terrorists go for the low hanging fruit.

So, when the Queen was alive, you believe that Anne, her husbands, her children and perhaps her children-in-law and grandchildren, as well as Andrew, Fergie, their children and sons-in-law, perhaps their grandchildren, Edward, Sophie and their children should all have had 24/7 state-provided armed security as children, children-in-law and grandchildren of the Queen? Because I'm pretty sure they didn't and doubt very much that you would ever have argued for that for them at the time.

Harry's security is provided based on an assessment by an expert independent government committee, not on the basis of whether he is or is not a working royal.

Terrorists tend to get intercepted in very different ways, mostly through intelligence services tracking known groups and associates - not because one gets caught red-handed trying to plant a bomb by an armed security guard.

How about Meghan, not speaking to any of her family? Not one of Doria's side were invited to the wedding ,not one Markle not even her dad. What does that say about Meghgan?
She has fallen out with all her old friends. Had no college or school friends at her wedding. She invited the Clooneys who afterwards said she didn't know them before the wedding.
Funny that Harry is now also estranged from his family.

Kate on the other hand looks to to a delightful daughter & sister maintaining a very close relationship with her tight knit family. She has close friends from her school days who are part of her inner circle & were godparents to her lovely children.
Her husband also maintains an excellent relationship with his father & extended family barr Uncle Andy but that's understandable!

https://www.dailymail.com/news/article-5783041/amp/Samantha-Markle-points-Meghan-failed-invite-mothers-siblings-wedding.html

Where were the Markles? Where was Doria's side? Why were they excluded? Why were her half brother, half sister & dad not at the wedding? Why did Harry not meet her dad in the lead up to the wedding?
Kate has Uncle Gary in the background but she still invited him!

I with you on some of your posts but I think this is clutching at straws. Her sister is unhinged, she wrote a book about M being a pushy princess, did countless interviews about her, tweets about her etc.... And then wonders why she's cut out of her life. Samatha Markle I think is pure evil, I'm not surprised she wasn't invited.

Well if Hazza is so worried about his security he should tell his wife to stop posting on social media & keep a low profile. Homeschool the kids if they can't find a suitable school. It ain't the taxpayers problem. We don't want more burdens on the state!
