Kate & The Middletons

I am currently reading Russsll Myers Catherine & William. Enjoying it but one thing that stands out is how the Middletons have never put a foot wrong.
Carole was not from an aristocratic background nor was Michael but they raised their kids not to put a step wrong. Kate also had embarrassing family members (Uncle Gary) but she still invited him to the wedding which was the right thing to do & it nipped the media scandal in the bud & took the wind out of any sails.. Meghan invited none of her extended family or her dad & it caused massive media speculation.
Kate was born for royal life & is a natural. Very proud of our future queen. Her parents did an amazing job.

Well quite.

I despise those who rattle on about a divorce for H&M. They say they are happy so that is enough. l

The cancer thing? That was pretty shady too.

It takes all types as you say.

The ones that say they’d never then get caught out, happy to make nasty comments about one couple, but sanctimonious when someone else does the same.

Sorry to be dim but what is the vids in cawvids?

You aren’t dim at all, dear. We are all quite curious.

ThrwhelsOntHEbuzgoroundandrund · 29/09/2026 17:39

SF could speak out now and earn quite the fortune.

She could potentially lift the lid on a lot of things. Perhaps re A, JE, Di, how she came to know MM etc.

It would be an interesting read if it were warts and all.

Okay sorry, I assumed you had read a bit about them. I am sorry I wasn't aware you knew very little about them and it was just a general impression

Yeh I just hardly see them in the news, other than when they took the piss out of their party pieces thing so presume they’re all chill.

Banjas · 29/09/2026 17:45

I thought in the past like you @Mistygladethat the Middletons seemed like decent people.
Then their business failed sadly and small suppliers were left out of pocket
(as was HMRC afaik)
The business was sold and the debts afaik were written off. Legally it was fine but morally I’m not so sure.
It doesn’t appear to have impacted their lives. They still have their lovely home and holidays, trips to Wimbledon, Chelsea and Ascot etc but I am sure there are creditors who are finding it very tough. It must stick in their craws.
Their 2 daughters have very wealthy husbands. Could they have helped out ?

Or get herself into more difficulties like Prince Andrew did?
Remember she was close friends with Epstein.
Prince Andrew was advised not to do the TV interview, presumably because they realised it would be a disaster, but Prince Andrew did not listen. Maybe Sarah Ferguson listened to her pr advisers?

Some local suppliers in their village were interviewed and one said carol spoke to him and said she knew she hadn't paid yet, but could they have more supplies and he knew she was good for the money.

We all know what it means when someone calls a woman “dear”. You’re quite well versed in using microaggressions. No surprises for someone who claims to have a twat banner. As they say…if the shoe fits.

Dear is commonly used in certain cultures.

SF possibly has listened to advisors.

But why shouldn’t she lift the lid? People keep asking for him to be held to account. It may be possible that she is aware of things that happened.

So does she provide the rope or muzzle herself because of potential ‘difficulties’?

I know what I’d prefer.

fuschiaproudparrot · 29/09/2026 19:32

It would fall into the same group as Spencer's and Harry's book - fact or fiction or as remembered .

CathyorClaire · 29/09/2026 20:18

For anyone interested in questions around the Middletons and their business practices this article provides a useful starting point:

CathyorClaire · 29/09/2026 20:28

What I will say is that they have been admirable in keeping their mouths shut and not briefing the press every two minutes.

Probably wise to be wary of ruffling the feathers of their golden goose :

oh dear that rather has a whiff about it, sme suppliers left out of pocket with their familial members.

I mean it’s far from ideal but not tarnishing the royal family like mah. Plus villagers accounts (may vary!) aren’t validated?!

MW might disagree but the reality is other than a cosmetic loss of face and a 12 hour scare in a police cell he hasn't faced particularly damning consequences for his alleged actions even now.

Ferg isn't criminally implicated so far and has little to lose.

I think she'll publish and be damned.

OneLilacHedgehog · 29/09/2026 22:11

@fuschiaproudparrot I agree that if Sarah Ferguson did write a book exposing that the royals knew what Prince Andrew was doing, that there would be another palace statement of recollections may vary.

Oh dear!!! Do stop trying to make “fetch” happen.

Why didn't SF turn in her husband? 🤔

@ThrwhelsOntHEbuzgoroundandrund when I mentioned her being called Markle by some posters , I meant just that. not Meghan Markle......just markle.

But her name is literally Markle, footballers are always referred to by their last name.
Besides isn't her actual name Rachel.

U53rName · 30/09/2026 07:38

Meghan is (checks notes) not a footballer. And once again, she chooses to go by her middle name. Calling someone by their chosen name is really easy; I’m not sure why you find it so difficult.

U53rName · 30/09/2026 07:40

Actually I do know—calling someone something other than what they like to be called is a microaggressive way of “putting them in their place” whilst still being able to maintain a faux naïvety that you’ve done nothing wrong.

Markle is perfectly fine in the context of who is being discussed. Markle has shown no respect to the royal family or British people & doesn't deserve any back.
Respect is earned, it's not a birthright or due to you marry!

thanks for proving my point by calling her "Markle" shows what I meant.

ThrwhelsOntHEbuzgoroundandrund · 30/09/2026 08:26

I don’t agree with calling her Markle. I see nothing wrong in calling her Meghan Markle though. Everyone will be aware who it is.

I suppose though that many thousands of service personnel have been addressed by their surname for decades if not centuries.

Maybe she was just ‘Markle’ for marching with the veterans?
