Are the bets on or off for an invite to Balmoral?
Will Meghan bake a humble pie for Catherine?
Let’s discuss……!

Yes, it has happened regularly.

The wheelchair user leaned on to deny that she minded MM moving her like furniture I can understand them thinkingnit isn't worth the fuss, just say what you've been asked to and move on.

But the rich Titans and the politicians? Who is leaning on them? Is the same "who" leaning on the DHO about H's visa files?

Yes indeed, who is leaning on them and why?

Meghan made the ‘baby brain’ comment to Catherine, Harry made the comment about needing to make sure his dear old grandmother had the right people around her.

They like to undermine people.

For a self-proclaimed lifelong feminist, Meghan can be remarkably vicious and belittling to other women.

See I’m the other way on harry and the military- he thrived in the military. But the “firm” wanting him as a working royal and to be fair, it was a good short term plan. He was popular, he worked well joining William on engagements together, the public warmed to him. But longer term I think he’d have been happier as the career military man of the family. (Not sure Meghan would have been interested in a royal who wasn’t a celebrity though. )

It was nothing to do with the "firm" - Harry quit the military because he didn't really have the ability to progress much further and it was clear that he was on the "slower track" for a Sandhurst graduate to still be a captain after 10 years. The next promotion would be based on his ability. There were also rumours in the press that he threw a strop because he didn't like his next posting which was a desk job at MOD in London.

So he quit with very little notice and the MIGS were forced to scramble and invent some projects like Invictus for him. Notice that Harry tended to only do jobs that interested him - military, Africa, Diana charities, polo events etc. You rarely saw him opening a factory in Wigan for example.

He did a few things with William - but William was a dad of 2 working as an Air Ambulance pilot when Harry quit the Army. In fact, Harry seemed very bitter that William had his own family life in Norfolk according to Spare,

The 'firm' probably expected him to stay in the military until his 40s, as has been the historical practice with 'spares'. Uncle Andrew being an example. Harry chose to leave the army because the next career step was probably some sort of desk job and I don't think that's really Harry's 'thing', for reasons which are well known. But certainly he was never forced to leave the army in order to be a working royal, however much it might pander to his victim mentality to pretend otherwise.

@FancyBiscuitsLevelyou are right. At the moment, the working royal family are too sensible to provide headlines so H and fill that void. I have a feeling James will disappoint! Btw he’s the same age as my
dd and when I saw the headlines today, I kicked myself! I should have guided her towards agriculture instead of politics! He’s a very handsome young man.

You could have been the next Carol Middleton!

I think you’re 100% right @Puzzledandpissedoff. No way did she want family or friends there to shatter her false narrative. The fact that PH has never met her father even before the fallout says everything!!

I agree with you. Harry not meeting her father before the wedding was a huge red flag and indeed says everything there is to say about the mess.

James as the Monarch's nephew is in the same position as David Linley and hopefully can have a nice life mainly under the radar.

I wonder if David Foster believes the spin that HAM will be back in the royal fold, hence keeping them onside

This is what I don’t understand, so many of them have done this, release some statement to appease the HAMS when they think they have been publicly slighted, remember the Nigeria visit when the First Lady made statement about nakedness?

During a speech to mark President Bola Tinubu’s first year in office, after the Sussexes had landed back in the US, Tinubu appeared to make a sly dig at Meghan.

*Addressing crowds, Tinubu said girls and women in Nigeria “do not want to mimic and try to emulate film stars from America” with their “nakedness”.
She added: “The message here is we have to salvage our children. We see the way they dress.

“They keep forgetting that Nigeria, we are beautiful. You can see what they showcase on the stage, I said, ‘We are fashionable, we see what is going on’.
“We are not having the Met Gala. And everyone, the nakedness, is just everywhere and the men are well-clothed.

“So we have to do something. Tell them we don’t accept nakedness in our culture. That is not beautiful. It’s not beautiful at all.

Then of course a swift denial with a full article in Page 6 of course, why do they all do this? it’s like they are frightened of them.

This is one of the things Harry & Meghan complained the RF would NOT do for them.

I think Harry makes a few personal calls pleading on behalf of Meghan because she is home on the floor crying her heart out, I imagine they put a lot of emotional pressure on people to do their bidding.

Whatever it is, David Foster now looks like a right idiot.

I suspect he just doesn't want the hassle of dealing with the drama of a Meghan feeling personally slighted. Far easier to just nod along with whatever crap H and M come out with.

If you look at the statement that David Foster has 'shared exclusively with People', the wording feels somewhat familiar.

I suspect that he was told people were commenting about the video, and the Sussexes would put out a statement to correct any issues, and he agreed.
The previous comments from 'a source' may even have come from the same place.

As the host of the David Foster and Friends foundation event, I had already greeted our friends, the Duke and Duchess, at the entrance 10 minutes before the red carpet encounter,” Foster says. “They both, graciously and selflessly, gave their time and went beyond to engage with everyone. Harry and Meghan are dear friends of mine. Anyone watching can see there was no awkward moment and certainly no snub.”

He continues, “It’s sad that certain media chose to deceive a red carpet encounter for clickbait. They turned simple ‘positioning’ to get the best photo into a hurtful lie.”

IMHO, each of the three defended HaM for separate reasons.

David Foster is a core Hollywood person. The favor is not for HaM, it is for Sunshine Sachs. David now can use that for a quid pro quo when he needs good publicity for his next music project.

The Nigeria visit took place immediately after H had visited his father KC3 the enabler. Nigeria has a GDP of under $300bn and has many UK companies doing significant business across all sectors of the economy. IMHO, the first lady would not want H complaining to his father about her and by extension Nigeria. She had no visibility on whether or not H can influence his father because the father-son relationship is private on the King's side but public on HaM's side (Martha outed M as talking about the visit to the King), but the first lady knew that H had just seen his father so was in contact with the King. The first lady chose caution and issued her statement to avoid a potential diplomatic mess.

Finally, the lady in the wheelchair is in such a power imbalance relative to HaM. I wouldn't blame her at all in the age of social media madness for just agreeing to a statement and thereby shutting down the entire situation.

I think you could be onto something. Earlier it was mentioned he’s a MAGA supporter and after the Kings visit it the States which was an absolute triumph it could very well be its influenced this blokes actions.

The other aspect of this that grinds my gears slightly is that if H was treated in anything like the same manner as his contemporaries he would have been getting annual appraisals written by his boss and also those slightly higher up his chain of command.

He would have sat through the annual debriefs and I suspect he would have known that he was not a shoo in for promotion above captain and should have made plans accordingly...

He either wasn't listening or didn't think the system applied to him and that he'd be able to stay in HM Forces as long as it suited him.

As a result I have zero sympathy with the POV sometimes expressed that he was a victim of the system - that he suddenly left/had to leave the Army and had to pick up what was in effect a second career (in his case being a Royal) without training......

MrsLeonFarrell · Today 06:38

I agree with@FancyBiscuitsLevel that the military suited Harry. He seems to do best with structure. The problem seems to be that he preferred to be active rather than have a desk job and couldn't fit into the established career progression.

In the same way he seemed to do well in the institution doing active engagements that were organised for him. But again he couldn't fit into and resented the organisation's structure.

It must be difficult to simultaneously thrive with clear structure and resent/ rebel against it. No wonder Harry is struggling to find purpose in his new life and there doesn't appear to be joined up thinking in anything he does.

This is why everyone drops them.everyone gets dragged into their clapping back at the media

To paraphrase Diana there are three of them in every relationship so it’s a little crowded - HAM, the friend(s) and the perception to the media / public.

To Meghan the relationship itself is secondary to the media / public perception it can generate which is why it’s fine to demand the Kardashians delete pictures, get DF to publicly say there’s no rift etc.

They. Are. Hard. Work. Not to mention they always seem to want a freebie - borrowing houses, flying on AirForce 1 - and yet have dwindling cachet to offer in return.

HoldMyWine · Today 07:52

I don’t understand why people acquiesce to them, when they have no cachet themselves.
I wonder if Martha Stewart was asked to change her story?!

Choux · Today 08:06

I think the Kardashian saga and Meghan’s lack of TV / Netflix success will have damaged her ability to cultivate friendships in the US. DF was probably asked / told by his wife to release the statement but I expect there will be less future friendship interactions over there.

The Scottish island owner may think the King’s son visiting almost immediately after seeing the King adds some cachet and the opportunity for discreet publicity. Whether he would offer them another visit remains to be seen.
