What more summer shenanigans await us from the Montecito duo?

Harry's been emphasising his connection to the UK recently so I find it very interesting he wasn't at any England WC matches. He might have looked a little like he was representing the country if he'd been seen there, which must have appealed given that he's pretending to be a royal. My guess is that the FA (with PW as patron) didn't invite him to the main box where the important people sit and he couldn't bear to get a ticket sitting with ordinary people in the crowd (shades of M at Wimbledon).

I agree that M pushes the security thing to have an excuse for not visiting but, also, I think H feels guilty because I think he promised her they'd always have security (silly muppet, we could have given her more accurate information about that than he did).

When did Harry last attend a football match?

He doesn't seem to be a regular fan like his brother and seems to only attend US sports (baseball, basketball, Superbowl) for big publicised games when he is offered VIP seats with celebrities.

I believe so but can't see it happening now

I suspect she is rustling up an Canva e-book pdf as we speak to sell for $$$$ on her Instagram. Probs been very busy, cutting and pasting and fiddling around with fonts since her last roundabout public appearance.

It’s not that Harry has commented, he can say and do whatever he likes.

The issue is that he is still trying to cosplay being royal. Yet the Royal family don’t criticise sports teams representing the UK, they praise their efforts.

By giving his view on the team mentality, he is cementing himself as a non-royal commentator. Now he can crack on with that - and good luck to him if that’s his chosen career - but he can’t then pretend he is still a working royal.

Exactly. Sure, he can give his opinions, uninformed as they are. You know what they say about opinions. They're like a certain part of the anatomy. We've all got one.

But if he's going to pose as a faux working royal, he really shouldn't be criticising the national team, whether or not such criticism is deserved. He should confine himself to generalities like 'the lads tried their best but it wasn't to be'. But Harry is convinced everyone wants to hear him opine on something he knows nothing about. Since when has he been interested in football?

I too was wondering why he didn't show up at at least one England match, given that he thinks nothing of long flights and has been seen at sports events he probably doesn't care much about. I think PPs are correct that even he, with his lack of introspection, knew he would not be welcome in any England ViP box, and for once chose to avoid the public awkwardness.

Well you can make light of it and no one is exactly surprised, but it’s not exactly great PR or particularly clever or intelligent to say that the King hates our national sport, one of our biggest industries and exports, especially during a major international tournament.

One might almost think that William doesn’t get on with his dad … .

our national sport, one of our biggest industries and exports

Section 3.3 and 3.4 of the link below show the UK's greatest goods and services exports; unsurprisingly, sport does not appear in either category.

I mean it’s kind of obvious that Charles doesn’t like football. Is anyone genuinely surprised by the revelation? 🤣

Hence why it’s not a big deal! 🫣

Well no! , I thought this was already common knowledge! , hence the surprise that William was such a huge fan, I dislike football too! , it’s hardly a crime 🤷‍♀️

Don’t be ridiculous. I love tennis , DD1 dislikes it but somehow we still have a close loving relationship.
I dislike football , DS loves it yet we are also very close .

I can’t see how MC claims MM has been quiet lately …. She’s been as erratic and disingenuously briefing the media as ever - just last week she was claiming she was done with the RF and then she dropped everything and rocked up with a minutes notice and huge conditions (in KC3 favour) for an audience at Highgrove - then she said she supports PH to lead with RF, etc etc She’s been ‘noisy’ not quiet.

If the point of the article was to lay out that MM has now burnt all her bridges with Hollywood elite so has basically zero opportunities to make cash then fair enough - and is this the ‘humiliation’?

I suspect that her about turn to visit UK was a complicated tap dance through tricky reputational terrain for her own benefit - she had planned a high profile schedule of numerous public events in UK with PH - but once the ANL judgement was known she swerved hard out of the shitshow fallout - ensuring it landed solely on PH.

However she would have done the math and concluded that PH court case will have potentially bankrupted them - so a few days after saying she’s done with the RF and once the $$$$$ implications drop she goes with the begging bowl and plays nice to KC3 dangling her kiddos.

If she’s toast in Tinseltown and UK what will she do? With Sentebale exposure of PH imminent and who knows what with Africa Parks and IG - I suspect she is dumping her DH with his MH issues back at his DFs door. I think she does want a reconciliation to get that depressing liability off her back. It wouldn’t surprise me if MM played nice just to return her faulty fox to his home and then fuxked back off to US.

HIHO won’t be an option but accommodation and school fees in UK might be - unless KC3 thinks keep them all out in the US.

SqueakyDinosaur · 20/07/2026 14:10

I love the bit in the Tom Sykes piece where Harry claims to be a thinker. He couldn't think his way out of a wet paper bag.

jeffgoldblum · 20/07/2026 14:15

Apparently invictus 2029 will be held in …..drumroll please…….South Korea!!
lets all hope the organisers have more knowledge than Harry and they don’t end up in North Korea by accident!

I think MC meant quiet with public appearances?

UK trip absolutely didn't go the way Meg planned therefore she dodged it. She's as dim as he is. She would have assumed like H that he would win his case. She then swerved it, hence the constant back and forth nonsense.

They both assume KC will pay their court costs and alas he will. Therefore, H never ever learns. No repercussions for appalling behaviour. No apology to the Judge for his comments. In fact, he stands by them🙄

IMO, they are looking for a way back as they have absolutely nothing else going for them.

I am not sure that KC will stump up , after all they are His Majesty’s Courts .

UK trade

Oh fhs 🙄. These threads are such a bizarre mix of extreme pedantism …

( you don’t need to examine trade figures to know that football brings a huge amount of kudos and money in to the UK and that in this, summer's tournament, 39 out of the 48 competing nations have had a Premier League player in their squads.)

… combined with extreme speculation as to what H&M could or would do and their imagined thought processes …

Mind you after 24 threads ranting on obsessively about two individuals you don’t know, it doesn’t really surprise me… .

BasiliskStare · 20/07/2026 14:58

@Ferrycrossingmakingwaves9 - I agree sport especially the Premier league is a big deal no matter where it comes in the hierarchy of money. But I don't think it matters two hoots if KC is a football fan & if W points that out & to be fair I wouldn't care if H said that either.

Well according to Lownie and The Sun he didn’t mind stumping up to make Virginia Giuffre’s case go away… .

Dontevenlookatme · 20/07/2026 15:49

What Harry did with that comment was to dismiss the efforts of a team who had proudly represented their country and played their hearts out. Their mindset was not at fault. Harry’s is.

If anything the team showed a great mindset, especially in the Mexico game. They did the country. I am so disappointed in Tuchel. His tactics in the Argentina match were such a mistake. I have a football obsessed son so base my opinions on his - I am not just spouting hot air like H!
