I think PH lives hour by hour. Never thinks of what's ahead. He'll assume bank of Pa will pay and I think he will unfortunately. Elton has basically told him to F off.

I agree Bank of Pa will ultimately pay.

I think he (we) have been subbing Harold all along 😡

TheHatTrick · 18/07/2026 21:24

@CathyorClaire I also think Charles has been spotting him and never stopped.

Based on Meghan and Harry’s own comments I always suspected Harry had no concept of money. She talked about paying for things and it sounded like he didn’t even have access or understanding of how to pay. Probably never bought his own drinks, even.

And there'll be another rant at Judge Nickell

Still looks like a bloke haunted by the prospect of a fifth of his reputed fortune disappearing up a victorious dragon's arse and that's before we get on the annual expenses he's saddled himself with.

Ok, he's not the world's most handsome man, but he looks awful in that photo. Really bad

OK so the Mirror article says Harry will continue the battle for security, but the Express one says that's over and his fists are down (ie lowered)? What an interesting contradiction. Did the Mirror talk to Harry and the Express to Meghan?

"fist are down"

Is that a UK English expression? I've never heard it.

Does it mean to relent ?

That's how I read it. Lowering your fists so moving away from punching or being ready to punch. Odd choice of expression though

HungryHippu · 18/07/2026 22:11

Will this pair ever just quieten down and behave like normal people? They are utterly exhausting.

I just checked out the website and agree. I also don’t find much about it online. The golf course seems to have no ratings beyond promo articles. Maybe that normal for places target HNW individuals.

Overall it looked like an expensive place that looks nice in photos but isn’t great once you get there.

I'll eat my hat (cheese or otherwise) if they've bought any Portugal property. For a start, what with? I maintain it's far more likely that this is an arrangement probably brokered by Jack B. where they're getting to use a unit not yet taken by a buyer for pennies. They are experts at borrowing other people's houses, let's face it.

mommaham · 18/07/2026 22:30

He's using it as PR.

bluegreygreen · 18/07/2026 22:31

Not an expression I've seen used before - 'fists are down'.

Google AI tried to tell me it referred to submission or defeat, but when I asked for the origin it then said I was mistaking it for 'hands down', which is clearly completely different.

BasiliskStare · 18/07/2026 22:33

@CathyorClaire - That place in Portugal reminds me of the various leaflets / brochures DH and I have shoved through our letterbox about "retirement luxury living" . I'm sure some will like it but it wouldn't be for me. 😊

ETA if I had to bet - I agree with @PullTheBricksDown - it's a bit of backscratching for mutual benefit. I could be wrong . If they have bought one well good for them if it is their choice.

Cardemomle · 18/07/2026 22:36

I once stayed at a golf resort hotel in Portugal. It seemed really good, 5* amenities, but it was a bit dull really.

They thrive on chaos. It must be utterly exhausting for them and the kids.

I always thought that HAM "buying a villa in Portugal" was always some sort of (paid) deal - brokered with Jack and Eugenie - to drive sales.

I think that they may have stayed at Eugenie's villa as she is due to give birth very soon and is likely in London, close to the Portland. But nobody saw them in Portugal - there was no gossip so it could be smoke and mirrors and they were never there.

There were rumours that Harry stayed at Soho House when he was in London.

I really don't think Harry really understood how some of these "Pay to Play" awards work in the US. The Living Legends of Aviation didn't give Harry an award because they thought he was a living legend! They are a small charity that promote aviation careers to children.

They give awards to some celebrity "Legends" each year for their fundraising potential - so Prince Harry - who hasn't flown since his army days was chosen. At minimum the celebrity is supposed to put down $25,000 to $30,000 to buy a table and brings some friends as a donation to the charity (and they hope there will be ongoing donations/appearances at events).

But Harry didn't understand this, didn't buy a table but turned up (without even Meghan) expecting to be treated as the guest of honour and mingle with celebs. So he ended up at the back on a (half empty) table of those who had bought single tickets - and looking really out of place (like Meghan at the cinema in a ball gown). He had a brief moment onstage and then ended up wandering around taking selfies with the fake Prince Mario-Max! 😂

He seems to have dumped the charity now - he wasn't at the 2026 gala.

Great post! I think being a prince and as entitled as he is, he believes that his presence is enough for a charity to benefit from. No doubt he expected great free table as an honoured guest.

Thanks for the explanation @Lunde I had no idea about the charity associated with the Living Legends awards but you have jogged my memory of some controversy about (not) paying for a table.

What a graceless idiot he is. Even I know paying for a table is a thing with charity events. I don’t think fake awards is really a thing in the UK - we prefer a little modesty from celebs even if it is fake modesty but even minor charitable events like a village hall fundraiser will often involve paying for a table albeit groups might get together and pay their share individually. I suppose no one has ever asked Harry to stump up.

The Portugal thing is very intriguing.

Two articles three years apart quote the same number of villas sold (71)

supercasa.pt/en-gb/noticias/setubal-costa-terra-has-71-villas-sold-for-288-million-euros/n441

https://www.idealista.pt/en/news/luxury-real-estate-in-portugal/2024/11/01/66309-exploring-costaterra-a-premier-destination-for-luxury-real-estate-in

The website has pictures of a spa bed situated in what looks like hastily cleared scrubland and a dining table situated in an entirely uncleared area which looks like a bug hotel.

I think Captain Tequila must really be earning his commission if he's genuinely still finding marks and Harold is a mug if he's bought.

“Captain Tequila” 😂

JB/CT seemed to be among those publicly blaming H&M at one or two public events back around the jubilee and funeral. I wonder if Eugenie and JB are still that friendly with them. Still business is business when you’ve got properties to sell.

Maybe H&M bought a timeshare?

Russell Myers (Royal Editor) in The Mirror.

Sources close to the Sussexes … ‘emotional reunion …’

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/prince-harry-security-home-office-37448183

This is incredibly clumsy stuff.

I wonder if this is just another ‘clap-back’ to the discussion and noise last week that their security arrangement is proportionate as demonstrated by themselves….ie they all came, PH did his full schedule of public engagements - he’s just annoyed that he’s painted himself into a corner and by his own actions proved the HO correct and acceptable to him because they all came, and he’s wound up that everyone can see this.

So what if he pursues the HO - think they might be busy with a PM change and summer recess to review prior to his next visit in Sept (Well Child).

I wonder if MM is planning the big reveal of A&L faces to be the Christmas walkabout - perhaps briefed to use their sharp elbows and grab grandads hand.

KC3 would do well to extend his new ‘balcony policy’ of WRF only to the Christmas walkabout.

elessar · 19/07/2026 10:18

God he’s tedious, I can’t believe (or I can) that he’s still banging on about campaigning for security. If anything this visit has absolutely proved that they have no need for police protection when they visit, particularly if they keep their gobs shut about where they are going to be and when.

I really hope the home secretary doesn’t give him the time of day.

On a different topic, I think Harry thinks he’s being clever with these leaks about the meeting with Charles. I think he honestly thinks that because he hasn’t briefed a verbatim of who said what, that he’s getting away with it.

He must think the King and the MIGS are as stupid as he is.

I'd say they are broke. I was listening to Paula froelich earlier. She has heard that Ingriftus will be wound down after Birmingham. Even giving them all a Royal residence in the UK a terrible idea.

But Ingriftus isnt an income for PH - so even if it is wound down it just then means he has more time on his hands……

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/07/2026 10:52

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that, @CathyorClaire; You'd think a place sold on its "exclusivity" would have better images to offer - even artists' impressions would do, though they raise questions of their own - but it seems not

As for Harry being expected to stump up to ttend a charity dinner, does he notice nothing at all? His father's done the same for years, but perhaps this was all forgotten in the expectation that his princeliness would be rewarded

Ingriftus isnt an income for PH

Edited to add are we sure about that, @Bredaa? It might not pay him a salary as such, but the many questions over where the money's going suggest that the expenses may still be a nice little earner for him
