What more summer shenanigans await us from the Montecito duo?

I doubt many Republicans would summarise this RF board as balanced tbh!

I meant balanced between those who tend to prefer different parts of the royal family. Whilst there are many republicans here I wouldn't expect a board about the Royal Family to be a particularly good representation of republicanism. In the same way a board about veganism wouldn't be expected to reflect the views of meat eaters very well.

Cardemomle · 18/07/2026 16:26

There's an article in the Daily Express now, with details of the meeting and Harry being happy to show his children "what it's like to be part of the monarchy".

  • Archie and Lilibet aren't part of the monarchy, neither are H&M, their choice.
  • why is he speaking to the Daily Express?
meercat23 · 18/07/2026 16:28

I suspect this is just the start of the drip drip drip of stories about the meeting that was supposed to be absolutely private with no details revealed. Predictable!

I’m a republican who has been here for years, as many of the others will confirm.

I find the board on the whole very informative, entertaining and insightful, barring the pigeon-dancing from paid PR sent forth from certain former royals who just can’t seem to let go.

I agree about spurious awards but it’s rather unbalanced to mention this without mentioning all of the spurious awards that the RF give one another!

Not to mention the honorary medals some of them receive having served not a single day!

QE2, for example, used awards, knighthoods, and military promotions to "protect" and publicly validate Prince Andrew, when he faced intense public scrutiny for his scandals eg the late Queen knighted Prince Andrew as a Knight Grand Cross on his 51st birthday which was the very day after the Jeffrey Epstein scandal broke. Lownie asserts that this was a deliberate strategy on behalf of the palace after the press started asking tough questions.

Lownie also writes about the late Queen making Prince Andrew a vice admiral shortly after new revelations were made public about his relationship with Epstein.

Almost laughable behaviour if it wasn’t so despicable.

At least an Emmy is a legitimate award for work done, whether you like the work or not. And btw it is usual practice for every agent worth their salt to submit the work of their client writer, artist, producer and director for appropriate industry awards. It’s standard practice, so I don’t know why posters are trying to invalidate it for that reason!

You think these points about Andrew haven’t been made dozens if not hundreds of times on the all the Andrew threads on the Royal Family board?

Because they have. Often by me and others who are on these threads.

I don’t like Harry’s fake knighthood either.

There was a line in the (ludicrous) DM article that they have a house in Portugal so the dcs ‘will be close to the royal side if they want to participate’. It’s not remotely an option!

He has absolutely no respect for anyone's privacy.

AnAutumnCrow · 18/07/2026 16:39

Oh dear, this rather puts the mockers on the squad’s little narrative about HAM wanting it secret and private.

Imagine my surprise 🙄

AnAutumnCrow · 18/07/2026 16:40

I don't get it. They left, then there was all the awful stuff about the RF being toxic and how racist they were and it made them both ill. Now they want their children to be part of it? So weird.

The he is in great health comment lol anyone can say from any of the pictures or videos we have seen of him lately. Hardly a leak saying someone is in great health 😆

He is inappropriate.

I've believed for a long time that the pair of them have such a high, over inflated opinion of themselves that they truly believe the everyday rules of society just don't apply to them! For their own sake, they need to get out of that bubble!

Was that the one where he complained in his speech that he was having to shell out thousands for a table?

IIRC it was the second time he went - 2025? Somebody had obviously made the expectations clear. I think he bought one of the basic tables (not platinum, gold or silver)

He received an award in 2024

What they expected (from 2012)

What they got 11 years later

They learned all about being part of a monarchy in 47 minutes? (which included tea/glass of squash and a cake) ..... 😂

LaMarschallin · 18/07/2026 17:23

Telling them what it means to be in the line of succession?
Sod all as far as they're concerned - they'll never come close to it.
Although perhaps Meghan could ask to borrow a particular tiara for Lilly to augment her Disney Elsa dress and Archie can have a go at waving the Sword of State about in his Hercules get-up...

Yes there would definitely have been a "back of the head" shot of them talking to Charles ....

I expect we might soon get Instagram shots of them watching the Coronation to "learn" about their heritage.

TBH I feel sorry for the kids being used as accessories in HAMs desperate attempts to get their status back.

No it isn't unbalanced - and this is what the MN community notes should say.

This is a sub topic, sub thread. It just isn't possible to discuss and keep up with everything on one thread.

The board is the RF- if you want to talk about how TLQ misused her position (and I do agree) then start a thread about that.

Whataboutery achieves nothing other than to make the thread less readable which is possibly the intention

I agree it is meaningless to 2 children living in California and attending American schools.

Princess Anne was second in LoS for 8 years and is now down to 18th.

For Harry the only place to go is down....

Exactly. This isn’t the “Harry and Meghan vs His family” board.

Illl never understand people thinking that since Harry and Meghan struck out his family it makes them somehow equal and that they should be held up in comparison to one another.

I really don't think Harry really understood how some of these "Pay to Play" awards work in the US. The Living Legends of Aviation didn't give Harry an award because they thought he was a living legend! They are a small charity that promote aviation careers to children.

They give awards to some celebrity "Legends" each year for their fundraising potential - so Prince Harry - who hasn't flown since his army days was chosen. At minimum the celebrity is supposed to put down $25,000 to $30,000 to buy a table and brings some friends as a donation to the charity (and they hope there will be ongoing donations/appearances at events).

But Harry didn't understand this, didn't buy a table but turned up (without even Meghan) expecting to be treated as the guest of honour and mingle with celebs. So he ended up at the back on a (half empty) table of those who had bought single tickets - and looking really out of place (like Meghan at the cinema in a ball gown). He had a brief moment onstage and then ended up wandering around taking selfies with the fake Prince Mario-Max! 😂

He seems to have dumped the charity now - he wasn't at the 2026 gala.

@lundethat is really interesting and makes a LOT more sense as to why he was nominated.

May I ask where you got that info, not that I don’t believe you, but would be interested in reading more.
