How does anyone know who pays Harry's legal bills?

‘The second thing I was told this week is that Harry will be given police protection for next month’s visit, but that may be only for the events connected to Invictus.

If this is true, I wonder if it's at least in part due to Harry not sharing his plans with RAVEC? We know how paranoid he is about them 'leaking to the press' (as if he and his wife don't do that) and is resentful about having to give notice at all.

A good part of an RTO's job involves planning routes, checking out venues etc. That can only be done if they know in advance where the 'principle' is planning to be.

I suspect, in day to day life, Harry whinges to people about his situation as much as he does to various publications and interviewers for money.
It could all be fabrication, though.
Who knows.

I can imagine that a lot of his plans may be scrambled together at the last minute. Scraping together personal appearances wherever he might gain money/publicity [a.k.a. "showing up and doing good"]. I would be surprised if he actually has a fully planned itinerary 28 days in advance of any visit. Which would be another reason why he wants his security provision changed.

He may want it.

But it's not going to happen.

Frankly, he's lucky to be given any sort of police escort. He's an expat who does nothing for the country.

Harry is out there representing our fine country by talking to estate agents about his mum and slapping lifeguards on the arse. Who else could we trust with these important duties?

How can he be expected to know his itinerary 28 days in advance? That would be destroying the witty spontaneity which makes him such an icon. You never know when another lifeguard's bottom may hove into view unexpectedly. Would you want that bottom to go unslapped, just for want of a few hundred thousand in taxpayers' money?

What do we think Meghan might do to 'compete' with the Trooping?

But yes, he wants more than he would have had if he’d stayed. Before QE2 died iirc, his security came as part of being the family of the PoW. Nowadays he’d be just another working royal, like Anne and the Edinburghs, and they do get a lower level of protection than KC3 and the Waleses. Harry is so stupid that he thought he was / would be an IPP and have free security wherever he went. Dimwit.

Also - if he'd stayed then a lot of his security would have come from living in a secure area with other royals at Windsor/Kensington Palace. But Harry has repeatedly refused offers of secure accommodation at Buckingham Palace and St James' Palace.

So he expects UK taxpayers to foot the bill for round the clock security at Soho House or whichever hotel he chooses to stay at when there are empty, secure residences.

Harry loves the presidential style security that he pays for in the US - 4 car convoys of blacked out SUV's. Remember when Meghan organised a convoy to transport her a few blocks from a restaurant to a theatre? This type of security is hugely expensive as about 8 bodyguards are required (4 to drive + several to open doors and escort her inside).

Yet most royals don't get anything like this level of security. Princess Anne and Prince Edward & Sophie only get security when carrying out official engagements - not for private events. Even on official duties - I don't think Anne has ever arrived in a 4 car convoy ... she arrived at her own wedding in a Land Rover!

Didn't Prince Edward say that he often gets around London by Tube?

The security theatre is such a joke. She's an aspiring influencer and he's, well, he doesn't do anything much at all. I guess if they pay for it themselves that's their problem, but no way should the British taxpayer indulge them.

I'm assuming it was Pss Anne's second wedding that she arrived at by Landrover? I absolutely love that. I wonder if she'd had it valeted or just sat in the dog hair and Thermos flasks and rugs?

I doubt Olivia is copying MM - as MM likely copied some other ‘influencer’ - as she doesn’t have an original or authentic thought in her head.

I used to work on Buckingham Palace Road and one lunchtime, the woman I shared an office with saw Princess Anne, by herself, walking up Victoria Street with Sainsburys' bags, one of which had a huge cauliflower on top!

The photo of her cutting up onions/preparing supper makes me twitch. Who prepares food like that with everything on the chopping board, just ugh!

At 3.40 on the video - The Queen, Queen Mother, Charles and Andrew arrive, packed into a Range Rover - a huge breach of protocol to have them all in the same car and no security in the car as far as I can see - but LOL at Andrew forced to play footman to the Queen Mother when she can't get out.

At 5.50 - a rattling Land Rover Discovery (with mud on the wheels) arrives with Princess Anne in the front passenger seat, and the kids in the back (Zara has her sensible Christmas coat on).
