Hello I thought I'd start a thread where we can build up the excitement for tomorrow 😂

I'm enjoying the English Country/ family vibe I'm getting from the setting and wedding prep.

Fox Gloves in the flowers 💕

I'm looking forward to seeing Harriet's dress, she's a very attractive women, but the flowers are always of special interst to me.

Who do we think will be bridesmaids? Peters P's and Harriet's daughters presumably? Zara's kids?

I read that Philip and Zara have a half sister who will be attending, I didn't kow about her!

I also read that Peters first wedding to Autumn was sold to Hello and criticised for this. Very tacky. It looks like he's learned and is not cashing in this time, so hopefully we'll get a good look at evryone.

My god, some of the comments on social media re the Tindall girls are appalling. What possesses people to be so nasty about children. They looked happy and cheerful.

It's why I only come on MN to read about it, I like that nothing really bad can be said.

I thought they looked lovely, and especially loved Lena"s umbrella!

@SixMinuteSecond 🤣🤣🤣 love the idea it’s a price tag for the return.

Agree that quite a few people looked thrown by the wintry turn in the weather and were wearing late changes of outfit (I mean, in the last few days rather than on the day). Kate will have been freezing in the church given she doesn't have fat to keep her warm like I do 😄 Zara looked great and loved the shoes. Bride's dress not to my taste but she looked very happy which is the main thing.

CharlotteStreetW1 · Yesterday 22:48

Well everyone looks very happy which is the main thing.

Sarah Chatto disappointed me a bit today, I normally love the Dior New Look silhouette that she wears for Royal weddings but this one missed the target for me. Sorry Sarah! (Do we ever see her husband?)

Have we seen a full frontal (oo-er) of Zara yet?

The best dress at any Royal wedding ever was Pippa's bridesmaid dress for Catherine and William's wedding (IMHO). I would happily have worn that as my wedding dress.

GellerYeller · Yesterday 22:56

There are some interesting colour combos. In one of the press shots, behind the Beulah designer wearing blue and white, there’s a guest in a white and green striped jacket, fuscia skirt and silver sandals. Lady Margarita in the extravagant golden headgear has a purple jacket and pale blue skirt. A touch of the Aston Villas perhaps.

PostcardFromDoggerland · Yesterday 22:58

Yes, gosh the weather! I agree it may well have thrown a few people off course sartorially, although as crap weather was already forecast most of them must have had these ‘Plan B’ outfits / umbrellas in mind.

I do find weddings tend to produce some odd visions and performative behaviours.

I would definitely have preferred the children to have been kept discreetly out of sight. The current online culture around royal adjacent children is unhealthy and potentially risky for them. None of them are the family of the heirs; they have no constitutional relevance and deserve privacy.

(Don't even get me started on the bloody Beckhams and their youngest.)

changeme4this · Yesterday 23:01

I didn’t think the 3 Girls looked happy or comfortable together at all for the pre wedding meeting.

I wonder how they are getting along in their private time? Will there be a MN’s post about who should share their bedroom/s ? (Lol).

re the dress, I thought Harriett would have worn a very smart suit in a pale colour. I’m not keen on white or veils for second weddings. I wore a Thai silk 2 piece with embroidery at mine (not that anyone asked)... 😉😉

There are not a lot of great pictures of Zara from the front - this was the best I could find

She looked beautiful in her full , white, Bridal and Cathedral veil.

Did anyone else find it weird that the BBC coverage kept pointing out that Harriet is an NHS nurse? I wondered if they were trying to make some sort of point. It seemed like something to perhaps mention once but not repeatedly. He’s not a working royal but they didn’t say what he does.

StartupRepair · Yesterday 23:18

I wonder how the conversation goes with a jeweller re borrowing a tiara?
Sarah Chatto's shirt was a rare fail for her .
Overall a happy and pretty looking wedding.

What does he do? I have no idea!

Disappointed not to see Lady Louise, but maybe she is still in Scotland living her own life.

I thought the three girls did well, not easy being that age, and then still having a leading role in a high profile wedding.

Well I guess it's 2026 and women can wear what they want to their wedding and are not bound by misogynistic traditions that only "pure", "virginal" brides are allowed their choice of a floaty white dress.

Not much seems to be known about her first marriage so perhaps she didn't get her dream wedding dress first time around.

She may well be doing her exams.

It really doesn’t

It does, I've seen lots of things very similar to this! Slightly frumpy, pretty Nineties. What elevates Kate's is the incredible tailoring. But the style, just no. It's giving Debenhams 1995.

"The three girls did well." 🤣 Sounds like you think they might have decided to lie on the floor and have a tantrum!

CaramacBar · Yesterday 23:39

I assume this woman who was following the bridesmaids to meet Harriet getting out of the car is Harriet's mother?
It was in a Facebook video

I’m not Church of England so I don’t know what the rules are about divorcees contracting marriage (a sacrament) again to other people in a church.

Does it depend on the parish vicar/priest or the diocese/bishop or the Archbishop of Canterbury? The Supreme Governor of the Church of England (ie Charles)?

I’m genuinely stumped on the current rules. Was it Queen Elizabeth who said no to Charles and Camilla marrying in church, or Rowan Williams? But yet she and Justin Welby said yes to Meghan.

Just idly pondering if people have to shop around for a trendy vicar iykwim.

14 year old me would probably have a massive teenage tantrum if I had to be part of a bridal party in front of the paps!

India Hicks’ mother died yesterday.

Edited

I didn't know that, but anyway, do you really think she's on here reading this? Do you think she would even care that some randomer thinks her wedding dress was frumpy? When I lost my parents, that sort of thing wouldn't even have penetrated, and nor would I have been reading Mumsnet.

God, the virtue-signalling and opinion-policing on this thread is out of control! Are we really not allowed to give our honest opinions on the sartorial choices of public figures? That is not a rhetorical question, @LadyLapsang. Do you actually think that India Hicks is going to read this? Is that the reason for your "concern"? Or are you just a control freak?

I think in Charles and Camilla’s case there was the added complication that they had been conducting their relationship whilst married to other people. Plus of course he would become the supreme governor of the C of E.
It is a bit confusing though, things definitely seem to have relaxed over the past decade.

1st cousin twice removed, I think??

I think it's second cousin once removed. Sarah Chatto and PC are first cousins. SC's children and W are second cousins.
