Hello I thought I'd start a thread where we can build up the excitement for tomorrow 😂

I'm enjoying the English Country/ family vibe I'm getting from the setting and wedding prep.

Fox Gloves in the flowers 💕

I'm looking forward to seeing Harriet's dress, she's a very attractive women, but the flowers are always of special interst to me.

Who do we think will be bridesmaids? Peters P's and Harriet's daughters presumably? Zara's kids?

I read that Philip and Zara have a half sister who will be attending, I didn't kow about her!

I also read that Peters first wedding to Autumn was sold to Hello and criticised for this. Very tacky. It looks like he's learned and is not cashing in this time, so hopefully we'll get a good look at evryone.

Do you think they all went quite pale dress wise because of the heatwave we just had? If it was hotter today they might have had different comments?

I love all the pale ones but not too keen on David Armstrong’s girlfriend, the one everyone else loves.

Yes, I’d like to see the mother and siblings of the bride too. I’ve seen a few unlabelled photos, it’s possible they were included there?

Lifeomars · Yesterday 17:08

I really don't like the wedding dress, there is just so much going on, the lace, the high neck, full length sleeves, the long veil that to me looks like old fashioned net curtains, then add the the tiara and the long earrings and its as if she has put on everything she can. She is tall and slim and could carry off a very simple refined and pared down style. The bridesmaids outfits were simple and effective and I think this would have worked well for the bride too.

I may be wrong, but I think it's a lace shrug with a scalloped lower edge.

It's like a lace overshirt - I wonder if she is going to remove it to have a sleevless reception dress.

I liked the dress itself but it was spoiled by that big white sash around her waist. It looked like she brought a scarf just in case it got chilly and was carrying it in front of her. It really brought down what was otherwise a great look imo.

I think the bride's dress is really beautiful and I adore the bridesmaid's dresses. I especially like the high necks and shoes. I thought it was apparently obligatory for them to wear tights (after the Charlotte/Megan/tears fiasco) so thankfully they didn't.
Anne looks abysmal. Kate looks dreary as usual and awfully thin. Not slim, just painfully thin. Beatrice's dress is awful. Eugenie gets a pass as she's heavily pregnant and thankfully didn't wear patterns. Sophie's dress is boring. Camilla's dress looks like a little girl's puffball dress, the length is wrong.
Do they all change into actual glamourous dresses for the evening?
The setting is very pretty.

I think you only need tights/socks for pre-schoolers in brand new leather shoes that they haven't been able to wear in

Really? Why do you love it? It's really nothing to write home about, when you compare it to many of the lovely outfits she's worn in the past. It's beige and boring in both style and colour. I truly think she wore something nondescript so as not to outshine the bride.

Not the poster you asked, but for me it’s a great silhouette on her, because she’s so slim that the heavy material and pleats are seen to their best advantage. It’s a very chic style for the weather - heavy enough not to be chilly but with short sleeves and a faint ‘safari’ vibe that make it summery.

I think it’s a very stylish dress, and I’m not a Roland Mouret fan, and also often think Kate dresses too old/slighty frumpy (tends to look her best in evening wear).

It also works well with her slim ankles and spindly stilettos, which give the weight of the dress a bit of upward lift and lightness.

I like it, but it looks like an unstructured kimono. The sash/scarf is too droopy.

I don’t think it’s attacking either and I was not aiming at you. But the comments have been horrible in part, from calling her a frumpfest, saying her dress looks like it’s choking her, itchy, that eugenie and Beatrice look a fright, Anne looks awful, Kate looks too thin, the guests dresses are awful on the women. That the brides dress is ott for a 46 year old on her second marriage, how awful her dress is, how her hair isn’t good, how the flower girls dresses are better suited to toddlers,. It’s an endless list of horrible comments. Pretending it’s not doesn’t change it, it’s there for everyone to read.

I agree. I don't understand why women think judgemental comments about another woman's bra fitting poorly or a dress 'not doing them any favours' are acceptable.

You would never say something like that at a professional networking event. It all the 2000s daily mail and magazine cover pages and the internalised misogyny still lingering in Zillennials and Boomers. I'm not sure how they dont see it—perhaps they find it cathartic so dont want to?

Regardless, I'm glad to see this kind of attitude dying out in younger generations.

You can talk about fashion without being nasty. I'm confused why so many think it's not possible?

Rubberdoggie · Yesterday 17:15

Any pics of the brides parents?

NameChangeMay2026 · Yesterday 17:16

I've scrolled through all the photos now, and I can't say I'm enamoured with any of the outfits except one guest who was wearing a hot pink skirt teamed with a sharp black blazer which had a great cutaway lower hem at the front.

But everyone else just looked frumpy. Those huge cushioned headbands are awful. And everyone seemed to be drowning in material. There's nothing there that I would want to wear. Oh - except Camilla's outfit. That's the one I like best, that pretty cream scalloping. Hers is simple elegance whereas everyone else just looked very fussy and prim.

Can’t see any . Strange. Perhaps they’ll issue the formal photos later.

I think it's too big for her. Too much material in it.

Someone’s even asked why it’s wrong it appears some women really can’t see why using horrible words to describe other woman’s clothing is not ok. And this is women on women.

there are ways to say something isn’t to your taste without ripping the woman to shreds.

AsparagusSeason · Yesterday 17:22

I’m never a fan of Kate’s clothes, but I thought she looked lovely in footage of her getting back into a car (with some poor serf woman holding an umbrella over her head - she clearly can’t mange her own 🤔). She looked very elegant and the dress was a great length.

thinkingaboutipswich · Yesterday 17:23

ive really enjoyed this thread, thank you! Love a royal wedding and looking at frocks. But especially like the PP who mentioned Midsomer Murders, the one who said Anne looks like the eccentric organ player and the one who said it was a frumpfest and she’d just seen a bride wearing a short white jumpsuit with a black bow on the back and that was much better 😂

On a serious note what crappy weather they’ve had! Feel bad for them about that! Nothing worse than a chilly summer wedding with an evening in a marquee 🥶

CombatBarbie · Yesterday 17:25

Were Kate and Camilla wearing a very similar colour? Almost like a competition although Kate will always win IMO

Lunde · Yesterday 17:26

I loved the almost drama of Earl Snowden turning up late with security running after the car. Arriving after the King .... and just made it into the church before the bride.

Yeah it's scary how oblivious they are. They think it's good fun or how fashion opinions are to be had.

Chimneyissues · Yesterday 17:26

Sophie should have had those sleeves altered and it’s the worst bag I’ve ever seen.

i think Kate has made a decision to dress in quite a formal/older way which is a pity but it is work wear she is wearing most of the time really.

Saw a pic of those odd shoes - the heel is a C shape so you can always see it.

She usually carries her own and will refuse if she doesnt think its needed, William usually takes the umbrella tbh

No, Kate's was sort of pinky/taupe and Camilla's was yellow.
