Hello I thought I'd start a thread where we can build up the excitement for tomorrow 😂

I'm enjoying the English Country/ family vibe I'm getting from the setting and wedding prep.

Fox Gloves in the flowers 💕

I'm looking forward to seeing Harriet's dress, she's a very attractive women, but the flowers are always of special interst to me.

Who do we think will be bridesmaids? Peters P's and Harriet's daughters presumably? Zara's kids?

I read that Philip and Zara have a half sister who will be attending, I didn't kow about her!

I also read that Peters first wedding to Autumn was sold to Hello and criticised for this. Very tacky. It looks like he's learned and is not cashing in this time, so hopefully we'll get a good look at evryone.

Just saw some more photos here:

https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a71497188/peter-phillips-harriet-sperling-wedding-photos/ and https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a71498195/best-dressed-guests-peter-phillips-harriet-sperling-wedding/

not sure how I feel about Sarah Chatto's outfit, it's like a plain white work shirt and slightly fancier skirt, with a hat bunged on the top so she doesn't look like one of the waiting staff. (More conniptions from the style and beauty lot - black AND white!)

I have no idea who Isabelle de La Bruyere is but her outfit is stunning.

Agree i'm not keen on Sophie's bag, it's a bit of a mismatch in styles but the blue doesn't even match her dress.

Somebody in the photo with Lena Tindall having a blast is wearing amazing tartan trews.

Thanks for link. Completely agree on Isabelle, she looks incredible.

The flower girls look very pretty.

On the bride I’m not keen on the bodice part but a small thing, the rest is great and I bet she’s very happy.

NameChangeMay2026 · Yesterday 16:28

I see her tiara is on loan from a jeweller. I think it's odd that her new MIL didn't lend her one of the family tiaras. Or that Harriet didn't get access to any of the RF's other ones. They have so many!

The one Harriet's wearing is pretty but it's too small and gets lost against her veil.

BasiliskStare · Yesterday 16:28

Oh look I can think the bride's dress looked uncomfortable and not very elegant , whilst also thinking she and her husband looked very happy & she looked joyful. & it's her day she can wear what she wants. Saying a dress is not to your taste , to my mind isn't attacking the woman. This thread was introduced as being "trivial" in the sense it was observing a family wedding. No politics , no bitching , just a little bit of people watching (vicariously) . I think it has in the main been conducted in a very light hearted and good natured way.

I do reserve the right to say I don't like someone's frock without that being taken as meant as some kind of slight against that person's worth. It's a dress.

Your view of good natured and mine are very different indeed. I think some of the comments are awful,

That's fine.

You're not a moderator on this board so frankly it's irrelevant to me whether you think the comments are 'awful' or not. I'll not be continuing this discussion with you.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · Yesterday 16:29

PinkMagpie · Yesterday 16:26

I agree that all the critique must be clothes and style related and we are not here to criticise other women’s bodies. I think the majority of posters have stuck to that.

The bride and groom do look very happy which is the main thing.

The bridesmaids dresses are interesting. A sort of vintage 70s Laura Ashley vibe

Edited

I’m afraid with both the bride and the bridesmaids, I’m getting a kind of “surrendered woman” vibe. I think the bridesmaids look very sweet, though, the flowers in their hair are particularly lovely.

So why didn't you respond to that comment instead of getting bitchy about the entire thread? The discussion has been on the whole very good natured. Or at least it was until you came along.

For someone who's supposedly against 'attacking other women' you seem to quite enjoy being aggressive towards other women yourself.

Well said

Weird.

Everyone looks very happy and the bride looks radiantly happy which is lovely to see.

LOVE the bridesmaids’ dresses.

I really don’t like the wedding dress. Am old fashioned enough to think full-on bridal white for a second wedding is silly, and the veil is nuts. Being very religious makes it even stranger, in my opinion. The dress manages to be both overly straight up-and-down and slightly bulky, and the lace makes her neck look too long, if such a thing is possible.

Kate looks fab, so chic, I love it. Love the weight of the fabric, the pleats, and the hat.

Sophie looks like she had to grab a handbag at the last minute and there’s way too much going on in the outfit, but she still looks nice somehow.

Camilla sometimes seems to get the length/width proportion of her dresses slightly wrong but I am not sure how! However I do think she dresses well and looks elegant.

Why didn’t Anne get a new bag, shoes and gloves for the occasion? The rest of her outfit is quite good IMO and she’s rocking that pashmina!

I love Beatrice’s outfit.

Usually a big fan of Lady Sarah Chatto’s style, but she looks too low key and yes, waiting staff adjacent. Hat suits her very well.

Thank you everyone for this thread.

NameChangeMay2026 · Yesterday 16:32

Kate's sky-high stilettos! 😱 She's been wearing that style at so many engagements for years. I have to admire her commitment!!! They must be 4-5 inches high. R.E.S.P.E.C.T. She must have incredible balance, especially as the type she likes are so spindly.

Dabralor · Yesterday 16:32

Well I love a good set of wedding pics- the bride and groom look giddy and happy which is lovey.
Kate and Zara both just look stunning.
am so confused by Eugenie’s shoes; how on earth are they working with no heel?!

Did Peter's first wife wear a royal tiara?

I wouldn't have expected the bride of the nephew of the king to be loaned a royal tiara, especially as it's not the first wedding for either of them. It's a wedding with lots of members of the royal family present, but it's not really a 'royal wedding' if you see what I mean.

Maybe she saw one she preferred to the royal ones

Camilla’s outfit was described as butter yellow- my butter has never been that colour!

Gosh some of these comments are so bitchy and horrible, it’s like women who want to see so they can hurl some abuse.

tbe bride looks beautful, the dress clearly has a top lace overlay for the church, and will come off for thr breakfast, the flower girls look lovely, very sweet, and Peter looks very smart. They are clearly very happy.

i can’t abide women attacking other women and putting them down foe their dress choices or body type, it’s sickening,

was thinking similar. C&C getting in a helicopter to attend the races though, wouldn't have an issue with that getting criticised.

Newyearawaits · Yesterday 16:36

Has anyone here wished the couple anything but happiness?

Why did you take the trouble to click on this thread and comment? What were you expecting when you saw a thread entitled 'Peter Phillips Wedding'?

I have read alot of critical comments which I wasn't expecting (naively obviously).
This is irrespective of whether or not they have been wished happiness.

IMissYouMum · Yesterday 16:37

Yes lovely just what we all need to see. Over privileged types dripping in designer gear and jewels. While the vast majority of the Kings subjects struggle to put a decent meal on the table.

Is it a clear wedge?

I love Beatrice's dress, it is my second favourite after Isabelle de La Bruyere, and I don't know who she is.

In some families you can only wear a tiara if your family have one, and you are the daughter of the house. Not the one marrying into the family.
Meghan, Catherine and Sophie were exceptions to this.

I think Beatrice's dress is the most divisive of the day! I'm on the side of thinking it's awful!

Yes, she wore Princess Anne's Festoon tiara. Anne has multiple tiaras. So that's why it seems odd that Harriet had to borrow one from a shop.

PinkMagpie · Yesterday 16:41

Sigh. If you don’t want to discuss fashion, style and royal weddings…maybe see your way off a thread about the fashion and style at a royal wedding

I don’t think it’s attacking either and I was not aiming at you. But the comments have been horrible in part, from calling her a frumpfest, saying her dress looks like it’s choking her, itchy, that eugenie and Beatrice look a fright, Anne looks awful, Kate looks too thin, the guests dresses are awful on the women. That the brides dress is ott for a 46 year old on her second marriage, how awful her dress is, how her hair isn’t good, how the flower girls dresses are better suited to toddlers,. It’s an endless list of horrible comments. Pretending it’s not doesn’t change it, it’s there for everyone to read.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · Yesterday 16:41

I like Catherine’s hat. Really don’t think the dress is doing her any favours and an odd colour choice for a wedding.

Quite liked Beatrice’s whole look. Also Zara’s.

I think it's awful too! So grannyish, in both style and pattern! And the hat doesn't go with it AT ALL!

PinkMagpie · Yesterday 16:43

I like Kate’s outfit more every time I look at it. She is a great hat wearer
