The royal family

Should Beatrice and Eugenie voluntarily give up their titles if they want any public respect ever again?

Just that really.
I think the only possible way forward for them is to choose to give up the princess thing, make a brief public statement in support of victims and to end their middle east business jaunts.

No, I don't think they were ever suitable role models. But that's what the RF aims for isn't it?
The monarchy is a mess and I don't think it has a place or serves a good enough purpose any more. But some of them are still reasonable role models and doing their jobs ok.

Is it? That's pretty dense of them if so, because performance of one's duties in a competent manner doesn't usually lead to being a role model. I can't see how that's necessary either, really. They'd do much better to try and separate the two out. So if eg Princess Anne is sensible and turns up to a lot of things, that's the criteria by which she should be judged rather than how many people might model themselves on her.

I have read that she is in Switzerland with Paddy Macanally. A very wealthy man she lived with before Andrew I believe. She is like a fucking limpet with rich men.

Given the circles she has moved in since birth, she’s hardly going to shack up with Wayne from Bognor who works in KwikFit.

@Livelovebehappy . He took Beatrice to pizza express and she was nearly 13 years old! (Born in 1988) Of course she would remember when members of the royal family don’t make a habit of going to pizza express lol.

I'm not sure about that. There is a photo of me and other family members taken on a day out in the UK when I must have been around 19/20. I have no recollection of the day at all.

Livelovebehappy · 22/02/2026 12:54

How can they speak up? How will they remember whether they went to Pizza Express with him on a specific day in 2001? Yes, it has already been proven to be a lie, so how would them saying they didn’t go even help (even if they could remember) ? Or is it just a case of sadistically wanting to see them squirm and suffer, like some sort of bear pit mentality?

He took Beatrice to pizza express when she was nearly 13 years old! Of course she would remember! How often do you see royalty in pizza express in woking and why are you so angry and rude to others who have a different opinion to yours! You’re way too invested!!

No not squirm - but the opposite - to stand up with integrity for truth - if they know he is lying they should speak out.
Especially if they represent anti trafficking charities (is that a self serving calculated fig leaf?)

Think they would have been 11 ish in 2001 - so well able to remember a party. What about the staff, the other parents, the birthday girl, the police protection people?

They both spend a lot of time in the Middle East, reportedly receiving large sums of money and expensive jewelry there.
Other Royals also enrich themselves. It’s the greed I find offensive, monetizing their royal status.

William and Kate took a free yacht holiday from middle Eastern royalty last summer - it is just greed. They can clearly afford their own luxury holidays

CommonlyKnownAs · 22/02/2026 13:13

I find it hard to believe that most people recall every party they went to at the age of 11.

They are a pair of grifters. Everything they have is because of their royal position. Without it they would be nothing.

Thats true of all of the royal family.

Of course they can afford..but according to the Royalists, they work damn hard representing the UK, shaking hands, cutting ribbons and other such shit...the poor darlings need funded holidays...and lifestyles.

Zara is an Olympian. She didn’t achieve that by being a member of the RF.

The money and fame will have given her a huge leg up though...

TipsyPeachSnake · 22/02/2026 13:20

Imagine if we were all punished for a family members behaviour ffs!

They are the queens grandchildren and have not committed any crime so no, they should not have to even consider giving up their titles.

Personally I would like to see the monarchy end on death of Charles and for William to remain in public officer as an ambassador for the country.

MikeRafone · 22/02/2026 13:21

What's in a title? Does it help them in any way? They seem to be lying low and probable will for a very long time - perhaps dusting themselves down at xmas for the spectacle walk to church

NotAnotherMNUsername · 22/02/2026 13:25

So their father’s behaviour now has to impact on his daughters?

Yes!

The behaviours of the parents are the reason the royals are in the position. Andrew benefited from the titles he inherited from his parents and used his position for all manner of depravity. He benefited from his mother’s money when paying off a survivor of sexual assault. And that’s just the stuff we know about.

So yes, the behaviours of your parents do average an impact on the children.

Of course it helps them!

As news about Andrew was breaking , Beatrice was holding a tea with the invitation as 'Tea with Princess Beatrice of York'
This was in Saudi Arabia

That's just one event

After reading many, many posts on this thread and others on broadly the same subject, I have come to the conclusion that in many cases a spark of jealousy is colouring people's comments. I feel some people are stamping their little feet and complaining IT'S NOT FAIR that the RF has loads of money, titles, free accommodation, etc, when I don't. It is not very edifying. Sure, I'd love to move in those circles, but I don't so I have to accept that, but I still want there to be a RF as our 'first family'.

tsmainsqueeze · 22/02/2026 13:29

ZenNudist · 22/02/2026 09:35

Also I don't respect or particularly care about them but don't see the need to hound his entire family.

Exactly this - i imagine they must be reeling/mortified/ heartbroken and every emotion possible.
He is a disgusting despicable man but he is their father and they are his daughters so i think leave them be .

You could not be further from the truth AFAIC

I have a blessed life with family, no huge money worries, wonderful adult DCs and envy or jealousy is not me.

igelkott2026 · 22/02/2026 13:34

I'd be really annoyed if someone blamed me for my father or mother's wrongdoing.

Why is everyone on MN obsessed with blaming people for the activities of other members of their family? Every time someone does something wrong it's because of poor "parenting" (because, apparently, nobody has free will). And now we're blaming two young women for the antics of their unpleasant father (who, remember, has not been found guilty by a court of anything criminal - yet).

I don't know if you are all lemmings who copy each other, but I have my own free will and personality and no doubt Beatrice and Eugenie do too.

I suppose this is one way to dismiss anything and everything the RF get up to.

I think more people think that the whole concept is toxic and that it harms everyone involved.

I have not seen a single post that claims they should be penalised because on who their father is. All I judge them on is their own behaviour.

And as I said before, I suspect that if it were Thomas Markle who had been such close friends of Epstein's instead of these two then the amount of posts where people were demanding his daughter because left alone would be minimal.

I find your question rather peculiar OP. By extension; civilised society should perhaps lock up all offspring of murderers?
But my answer is, as we’re apparently perfectly happy to have a King who has admitted he committed adultery during marriage with his first wife; I think it’s too much of an ask to punish AMW’s daughters for something which happened whilst they were children & hence in no control of.

Kings through history had mistresses.
I dont condone Charles's behaviour but adultery isnt a crime and lets face it Diana, as the marriage disintegrated, had lovers as well

Yes. And they exercised that free will to go and visit Epstein after prison.

I suspect you are absolutely spot on with this. The fact that Eugiene and Beatrice continued seeing Epstein after he was charged means they have no morals whatsoever.

Jollyhockeystickss · 22/02/2026 13:41

Andrew has not been charged yes hes a vile arrogent man but hes not been charged, he actually has done nothing illegal or he would have been charged...the ongoing witch hunt of famous people in this country has to stop..the BE KIND means nothing
