Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

Actually if you keep up with royal news you will know that it has been said William is considering parking their titles until they are of age so they can decide whether they want to be working royals.

Announcements like this are mainly for the press. Odd that you don’t know that.

'Said by' who? He could have told his grandmother that he didn't want her to change the rules for them if that was the case. Its easier to keep things the same than remove something. He could have asked either of the current monarch or previous to change letters patent to do that if he really wanted to. He hasnt. Its all specialties to try and make him out to be done great reformer who's just waiting to move and shake.

The Queen “changed the rules” before George was born in the event that if he had been a girl she would have only been titled as lady and a subsequent brother would have been titled Prince in effect outranking the Heir to the throne, so no I won’t berate William or the late Queen for wanting a first born daughter to have equal status to sons, but maybe you feel differently.
