Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

A celebrity patron’s main use to a charity is to generate publicity for it, as that increases support and donations. I spent a lot of my early career making bloody sure that Kensington Palace was going to promote, for example, Diana’s visits to the charity I was fundraiser for, and were happy for us to invite the media and/or use material from her visit for publicity afterwards, as I knew the media coverage would see a large surge in public donations, and would make securing corporate support more likely and more lucrative, because it’s basically free and far-reaching marketing.

Therefore, I can think of very few reasons why any royal would make a charity visit without announcing it, and, as always, the media use the material that they think will generate most sales/advertising for them, and these days, that’s Harry, as once it was his mother.

I have been away from mn for awhile as I’ve been unwell but I can’t help but notice that there seems to be a recent trend in multiple posters trying to stop any discussion thats not about Andrew !

The press would also have to find abother source of traffic for revenue. The RF know this. I suspect they are mightily relieved M &H are there to provide the lucrative copy, otherwise desperation for revenue may lead elsewhere.

The real question is, why is he still scheduling stuff to coincide with big events on the RF calendar.
ETA: Because the announcements are just an aspect of that behaviour

It's not just his usual 'announce something when William does Earthshot' release, which if you look back he does every time. It's part of the ongoing security campaign. He's trying to suggest he's a working royal by going on a trip.

The real question is why is everyone interested in H's schedule when William's event is on? There's surely something that could be said about William's big moment? He's out there saving the world from climate change one private helicopter at a time!
All I have seen about Earthshot is one fairly cringy picture of W leaping about on a beach. Nothing about this year's contenders, how previous winners have made a difference over time, no highlighting of climate change etc etc etc. All the things that this event is, I would guess, meant to publicise.

He’s such a tool, has he forgotten he isn’t “working” member of the RF though we all know how desperate he is to be one. He really needs to drop the security nonsense, particularly if he wants to hang onto any form of a title once William is King now we know with the swipe of a pen that William can take everything away and save the tax payer any security costs…..
