The royal family

Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Mylovelygreendress · 04/11/2025 08:46

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

That’s true about the fee - ticket income around £120k but more than one speaker plus venue and other costs to find.

OMG, from senior working royal to giving a talk to a bunch of estate agents 😬

£270 a ticket isn’t really that expensive for a ticket for one of these corporate events. It’s not exactly going to attract titans of industry. That’s incredibly embarrassing for H.

'resilience and healing'

Quite apart from his personal example of how he treats his community - family or colleagues (Sentebale, anyone) there is an increasing volume of poor reviews from both employees and customers of BetterUp.

It doesn't sound like an organisation conducive to good mental health.

jeffgoldblum · 19/11/2025 19:55

So a bit like the Vatican giving marital advice then?!

CathyorClaire · 19/11/2025 19:55

Wonder if his fee will get anywhere near the rather easy £750k he trousered yapping at gullible bankers immediately after finding freedom and immediately pre-Covid?

At £270 a head it seems unlikely.

Or his household staff being belittled and bullied just trying to earn a crust.

A serious and toxic pattern of behaviour reported consistently and persistently over many years by numerous witnesses and victims from Canada, to Buckingham Palace, to Royal tours, to California. And that’s before we even look at how has invaded the privacy and peace of his family members at critical and sensitive times in their lives as they battled end of life, grief and serious life changing cancers just for $$$$$.

Perhaps PH should get his own house in order before he ventures out hypocritically spouting nonsense for $$$$.

I hope this audience live up to some corporate hospitality stereotypes and get pissed and heckle the grandiose, delusional fool off the stage with his ‘worthy’ patronising disingenuous bilge.

In fairness he probably has to take whatever's offered now, and it's better than doing no work at all

Let's face it, what else has he done recently apart from whine?

Personally i'm bored of the public paying fortunes for the Royal Family - including Andrew, can't wait for the public enquiry into him. At least Harry doesn't cost us anything.

Court cases ? Security when he visits ?

Do we know yet if he paid the costs for the security case?

Unfortunately he still costs us a lot of money, constant court cases, security and he was still funded by bank of Pa for a year after he left, who knows if he’s still getting handouts.

Edited

I was wondering that as well.

Fascinated to hear his solution to the housing crisis.

Doesn't cost us a penny. Apart from the £1.5M he's due to pay back for his case against the Home Office that he lost.

Not to mention the general court fees the taxpayers pay for his other ongoing court cases.

And the taxpayer funded security he gets when he visits.

No, not a penny.

Don’t forget the U.K. charity money that he moved to archwell , that mysteriously disappeared!

I've run events at £325/ticket, the max we paid a speaker was £12k.

I've also attended the Salesforce conference in San Francisco - it's the largest tech conference in the world, costs about 2k to attend, and they include flashy speakers and performances (Will.I.Am as a keynote, and U2 performing etc). They have a huge focus on mental health too.

It's embarrassing to attending some property conference when there are massive events locally that are auch better fit.

Maybe they don’t want his disingenuous, tarnished brand.

Thinking back to the grandiosity of their announcements in 2020 - service is universal - collaborating with the Queen - show up do good - all the bollocks about Archewell - can you imagine if anyone had suggested then that by now Meghan would be trying to flog UPF pancake mix and Harry would be giving a talk to a bunch of Canadian estate agents. That an invitation to Kris Jenner’s party would be an huge win. And that they would be quite this unpopular and the butt of jokes all over the world. What an extraordinary fall from grace, having been senior working royals. They’ll be doing panto season in Weymouth next at this rate.

As said before, @TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis, he's probably having to take whatever he can get now that even his wife's speaking of him like a simpleton

It's better than not "working" at all, and now the really big players don't seem to be interested any more what else is left?

BemusedAmerican · 20/11/2025 12:47

How can he have blown through all that money in five years?

We don't know that he has, BemusedAmerican - didn't he say that he wanted to put Diana's bequest aside for the kids? - but a lifestyle like that doesn't come cheap, especially if he really is paying for regular security rather than just someone to show up for "events"

This is a great point and should have gotten more attention. I think it's immoral for those who donated to have moved funds to a different non profit that uses the money in a different way and probably donates a lower percentage. Many people like to look at how much a charity spends on admin before making a donating, as is their right.

Agree entirely but it's even more appalling that the money ended up not even in the nominally charitable Archewell but transferred to Harold's private company Travalyst thus placing it both beyond further scrutiny and under Harold's control.
