Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

Yes it was something that should have been changed years ago!
imagine if Charlotte had been born first , heralded as the heir and then George is born and she’s literally pushed aside! Then Louis and she’s further shunted down! , it happened to Anne ( although she wasn’t the heir) , it’s about time women were granted equal status to men in the aristocracy, they still don’t inherit the same now in 2025 ! 😡

I think things are going to change. Non serving members of the RF should not retain any title regardless of who their mother or father is or was. The RF are there to serve the people of the UK and Commonwealth and they remain in this position because the public wants them to be there. If they don’t serve they should have no title. I suspect Harry’s kids will lose their titles as they will very unlikely to ever be working Royals.

You are describing politics and the government, the monarchy doesn’t work like that and isn’t a popularity contest.
if there is no monarchy there are no titles it’s simple as that.

Well of course that is an option that should go to the electorate if the government of the day want to pursue a republic, in the meantime we have what we have and it needs reform which I’m sure William recognises.

That’s called a republic and something which the UK isn’t. Andrew is at last getting his just dessert now by losing everything and I think most people in the UK are glad about this.

The reality is that most people in the UK think Andrew is an entitled pratt and are happy that this is happening to him. They are not illogical though to extend this to the whole of the RF.
