Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

Clearly not, considering everything he and his wife do is followed by a gazillion posts, google searches, internet investigators, newspaper articles and opinion pieces. Mostly by people saying 'we're soooo not interested in you!!!' Why not prove it by not obsessively going on about it all the time? If no one was interested then who cares if he does it at the same time as William? The only reason it would be a problem would be if Harry was easily able to get more publicity than William. If he does its only because of the obsessives who follow their every move. The papers don't care about anything but engagement in content. The more people engage, the more the papers will publish.

But my point still stands- you say who cares where he goes? Clearly loads of people on Mumsnet care about everything he does.

I think no one cares what he does as nothing he does is of importance so it makes no difference. But everyone is interested in the same way people rubberneck carcrashes. So sad but true. And H and M did it to themselves by being horrible to their families and staff so we all know what they are like now rather than are fooled by their image.

Well as I am retired and doing a shift at our food bank later plus a fund raising event at the weekend and looking after 2 DGC 2 afternoons a week , I think I use my time pretty well .

I wouldn’t have known William was in Brazil if it wasn’t for the report that Harry is off to Canada.

I strongly suspect it’s to firstly try to get some ‘interest’ in him 😴💤 and secondly, when the RF have something going on the Harkles just have to make some announcement to try to overshadow … which of course it doesn’t! Is the concern that no one will be interested in William's trip if Harry does something / anything? I'd have thought that W ought to be able to raise a little interest on his own.
Although, judging by this board of keen royalists, maybe not, if the only discussion on William and his major Earthshot initiative is actually all about Harry. Is W really that boring?

Every sleb, organisation etc makes a whole series of announcements as part of their PR campaign before, during and after an event - basically to generate more noise and column inches. Nothing to see her in this instance - unless highlighting the security concerns is a new tactic for PH - which may indicate something else?

It could be worse, my Granny would often announce that she was "off to the toilet now" at family gatherings. I'm never quite sure how we were supposed to respond. A polite round of applause, or "have one for me!" maybe?

People give enough of a fuck to start threads on Mumsnet and discuss.

If each time they announced and did something it created no online discussion the media would reduce their reporting and H&M would in the end stop doing things publicly but because every single thing they do causes so much of a flurry of excitement it will continue.

I can’t remember the last time I read any articles about them but there are so many people on Mumsnet who ‘don’t care’ about what they’re doing but seem to know a hell of a lot about them. A lot more than us folk who don’t care either way.
