Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

Normally I assume it wouldn’t! But obviously with such rich high profile people involved, 🤷‍♀️ I’m sure they will get a hearing that us normal people wouldn’t!

Harry said that he had advised the Palace about his Toronto trip but according to The Times, the Palace was not notified.
As with the party photos , H and M need to get their stories straight.

So basically the whole trip was about Harry trying to shore up his royal status.

The palace won't play games but I think it's pretty clear that they aren't going to allow Harry's narrative to pass. Previously they have no commented but now they seem to be correcting anything that could be seen as palace approval for Harry's activities.

As for Harry, sadly I think the party and ridiculous photo situation (in this day and age pulling photos of pointless, once they've been released they've been copied and last forever) has buried anything else he did over Remembrance week in oblivion.

The constant, absolute stupidity of Harry is just mind boggling, isn’t it?! Every time he gets a little bit of good press, which is generally when he reminds everyone he was a soldier, eg in Ukraine and Canada, he manages to fuck up his two minutes of positive publicity with a spectacular PR blunder. No wonder their PRs keep leaving, it’s an impossible job!

And yes, I agree @MrsLeonFarrell , the Palace aren’t playing nice anymore. I wish they had said something sooner (ie when Harry was in Canada), but I can understand them not wanting to to detract from the actual veterans over Remembrance, any more than had been the case already thanks to Harry sucking the oxygen out of the occasion.

I'm glad, as I was a bit concerned about the optics of the military visits in Canada (though I can see the point of not taking any attention away from the veterans).

I do also wonder if the Palace has felt it necessary to clarify because of the suggestions about an Australian visit, especially as the Wales family are supposed to be going next year for an official visit.

There have been some media headlines suggesting the Sussexes are planning a trip to Australia. I have no idea how accurate they are.

There were some posts on X about an Australia visit, saying they were shamelessly copying the P and P of W, as apparently they are making an official visit to Australia next year. The Sussexes are brave. I don’t think the Aussies have much time for them!
