Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

I think it’s too late now for reconciliation though. And Charles has set a precedent in using letters patent to remove his brother’s titles. It wouldn’t surprise me if William does a streamlining of the HRHs like Sweden did a few years ago and removes some titles and styles from the Sussexes, Yorks and Edinburghs. The Edinburghs won’t mind as they don’t use the prince and princess anyway. The Sussexes absolutely would mind.

I think this as well. There was something in press about William wanting only working royals to have titles - so I think they are putting idea out there.

KC3 is King and he is the Head of the Armed Forces so again the proverbial buck stops with him. Right now, H is a non-working royal, who is on the RF website, and claims to be in touch with King Pa? The onus is not on the armed forces, reservists and military/veterans charities to clarify H's status, that is King Pa's job. If KC3 issued instructions that non-working royals do NOT get to set foot on military facilities for photo-ops and do not get to use the military/reservists for photo-ops then it would stop this nonsense from H cold.

H knows that KC3 is an enabler...it is his life experience with King Pa. So, H tantrums and does what he wants...the exact same thing he has done his whole life!

On the other hand, if private charities want to do photo ops with H and allegedly pay for costs of his visit...well there is freedom of association, and the charities can do what they want with private funds.

There are other countries who have already removed titles and styles and it would help remove the current inequality where male line grandchildren get titles but female line grandchildren of the monarch don’t.

In Sweden in 2019, King Carl XVI Gustaf announced that he was limiting which of his grandchildren could be an HRH. Until that point, all the children of all his children had automatically taken that style. However, from 2019, only the children of the heir to the throne, Crown Princess Victoria’s children would keep it. That meant Princess Estelle (second in line for the throne) and Prince Oscar remained “Her/His Royal Highness” but that Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine’s children would no longer have the style of “Her/His Royal Highness”.

In Denmark in 2022, then Queen Margrethe announced that, from the start of 2023, the descendants of her second son Prince Joachim will only be able to use their titles of Count and Countess of Monpezat, their previous titles of Prince and Princess of Denmark ceasing to exist. To allow the children, who were never expected to hold an official role within the royal family, to have normal lives, the Queen wanted "to create a framework for the four grandchildren, to a much greater degree, to be able to shape their own existence without being limited by the special considerations and obligations that a formal affiliation with the Royal House as an institution implies"

I think William will follow suit.
