does anyone really believe that PW will do thinks when he is King?
he has been seen happily driving A about

He drove his uncle to church one day as instructed by his father .
He drove A , E and S to Balmoral after QE2 died .
I don’t think that equates to happily driving g someone around .

jumpingthehighjump · 21/10/2025 10:18

He didn't have to!
Do you think if he said to his father no I am not driving him, he would be ostracised ?
It's not as if they didn't have enough cars or something 😅

Always impressed by people who can tell just what others they don't remotely know are thinking

I'll bite

Kate Middleton has a daughter. I'm sure she is aware of the sordid allegations against Andrew years ago and the more specific, horrific details that are emerging now. Why hasn't she issued a statement to condemn trafficking and violence against women and clarifying what her position is? Isn't her life mission supporting the early years? Doesn't she understand safeguarding and child protection? Silence is complicit blah blah blah

How does that sound? Is that a justified criticism of Kate? Is it a fair thread derail?

Kate Middleton?

noonames · 21/10/2025 10:35

Quite odd that on a thread about Andrew, and goodness knows there’s plenty to talk about, some prefer to criticise William for being a terrible king at some point in the future, and for driving his uncles to see their recently deceased mother. When they landed at Aberdeen and the car was there, was he supposed to refuse to travel with Andrew because you know, optics, in three years’ time? I suppose if he had he’d still be criticised for happily sharing a plane or something. OMG I just thought - Andrew came to William’s wedding. How awful of William to happily share an abbey. And I’m sure they happily looked at the same horse once at Royal Ascot. So stupid.

Eugenie's charity is about slavery and trafficking but not a word of course

Bloody hell I didn't know that, how embarrassing. The middle east doesn't have a good reputation with slavery either.

I don't think it's stupid at all and time and time again I have said that Andrew can attend any funeral church service or whatever he likes but
He positions himself front and centre of the Royal party and he should be seated before the Royal party arrives or go in a side door

As for driving him, why? All the Epstein stuff was out when William drove him, it wasn't like it broke 3 years later! the paps were out and about, why would you even contemplate doing that?
There are usually three range rovers with personal protection officers in, he could get in one of those.
So yes, I do criticize William for that. I certainly wouldn't be driving around my uncle who has numerous shady dealings with a sex trafficker in full sight of the world's Media

What does that mean? My previous post is expressing an opinion as to why I think William should not have been driving Andrew around. Surely that sort of opinion is allowed?

noonames · 21/10/2025 11:19

Maybe optics and where the paps might be were not at the forefront of William’s mind that day, you know, what with the Queen dying and all that. Or maybe they were but he just decided to cut Andrew some slack on the day he lost his mother.

I disagree. PW wouldn’t have made any decisions. Their PR men in grey carefully orchestrate their every move and this would have been thought through and deemed appropriate.

The PR team were until very recently forever trying to rehabilitate his image with the public - they delusionally thought this was achievable and appropriate - remember QE2 having him escort her in St Paul’s? They want it brushed under the carpet in order for it not to damage the monarchy brand - but it is backfiring.

He drove him to church the year after the Queen had died

⬆️. This

I honestly think the pr people are absolutely clueless and treat the public like idiots

JoeSikoraTommysStory · 21/10/2025 11:40

@BemusedAmericanShe didn’t live in the US and her kids don’t either. They are Australian citizens and always have been (their father had full custody of them) he’s an Australian citizen.
Virginia moved to Australia after meeting him when she was on a trip around the globe; which Epstein bought the ticket for.

You seriously don’t think the “PR men” would have had better things to do on the day the Queen died and Charles became king? You think it was all about making the most of an opportunity to rehabilitate Andrew? You don’t think maybe they were busy thinking about how to break the news, drafting statements, managing Charles, who was coming to Balmoral (not you, Meghan), dealing with the wider family and staff, politicians, broadcasters, the press, the military, heads of state around the world, figuring out how to get her body back to London, writing Charles’s address to the nation, endless meetings to sign off all the comms. No - the first thought was undoubtedly, let’s get Andrew in the car with William, it’ll be great for his image. Brilliant 🤪😂

jumpingthehighjump · 21/10/2025 12:01

@noonames
William drew Andrew in his car with just Kate a year after the Queen died.
William could have said no

noonames · 21/10/2025 12:11

I wonder if William has ever driven Andrew apart from that day the Queen died. I guess we’ll never know 🤷‍♀️

I agree they may well have worked it out and advised, @Banjaxxedd, but they're not the bosses here and if for whatever reason one of the RF choose to ignore them I'm not sure what they're supposed to do?

Apart from sit back and accept the blame for whatever goes wrong, of course - they always seem to be on hand for that

Banjaxxedd · 21/10/2025 12:19

@noonames - it’s a finely oiled machine - all releases etc would have been written years before and logistics rehearsed and finely tuned and then just put into place (Operation London Bridge).

My point is that the prior and ongoing (misguided) intentional process that PA should be included in public occasions with the family in order to be rehabilitated in public opinion just continued, business as usual, on that day.

Nothing they do is not orchestrated and intentional.

He wasn’t “driving him around” . He drove him to Crathie Church and back to Balmoral .
He drove Andrew , Edward and Sophie to Balmoral as the weather was too bad for the helicopter. Of course if Harry hadn’t farted around they might have landed in time to miss the bad weather ( and see HM before she died).

BemusedAmerican · 21/10/2025 13:16

I disagree. The flight up to Balmoral was delayed due to unplanned human reasons. Look at the coronation. Charles's carriage arrived too early. Not everything can be planned.
